Laura Stone orangefitness was started in 2010. I think they just bought a franchise.
@@Shteca I think what he is getting at is he probably got in at a pretty low franchising cost when now they can be upwards of a million dollars in prime locations and their revenue streams are spectacular

@@sethbender2863 Right, but i think at the time, the brand wasn't well known. And now they are everywhere. Which means this franchise they bought, will have tons of members or just really easy to get members into the door.

It's easy when you own a million dollars worth of housing you can sell.
This woman got a lot of personality and has great conversational skills, she makes it interesting to listen to her.

I would have loved to see this family do this on a reality show. Selling things off and downsizing. I wonder what they moved into after they sold both their houses. How did the kids adjust? Good for them for realizing what's important in life.

Watching this for inspiration. My inner voice must have been drinking hater-aid cause I started thinking "Must be nice" Being poor sucks. But rationally THIS is the American Dream! One day I hope to share a similar story of my own just have to keep working hard, find a mentor, and keep learning... to get out of this rut. Awesome video!

This just goes to show you that even when you have everything, you still are not happy. She's right. You do not need the biggest house or the nicest car on the block. They're just material things. Who cares about that.

How do people making $175k get two mortgages for 1 million each?
This is awesome but I just don’t understand how they got those mortgages to start with. My wife and I make a similar income to these two and I don’t even think I could get an $900,000 home loan. I guess I might be able to get it but there’s no way we could actually pay the monthly payments.

At 5:40 where he's talking about, did it hurt emotionally to get rid of things or was it more like "good riddance"? I've moved 17 times and between being raised in a house of debts and financial strain and all the moving, my mother and I now call that feeling "Brick of Gold Syndrome." What is it? Do I want it? I don't know, is it a brick of gold? No? Then I don't want it. lol :P

I would believe it, one of the new guys at my work making probably $60k bought a $400k house with 3% down, and he owed $35k on a Silverado.
They probably had a house worth $1.5M and were making payments. They sold the house to pay off the mortgage to get rid of the monthly payments. Nothing spectacular they did here - just a balance sheet restructuring.
That is a strong woman right there.

I’m still confused how on 175 k they were able to afford 800,000 in mortgages. And where did they get the other million in equity of the houses. Obviously not in 175 k because it isn’t that much in the grand scheme of things.

Ok first I love Ramsey. These guys had two houses at a $1 million a piece. They were only making 175k a year. She turns around and says they were making 250k but had $7 to eat that night. This sounded a bit hinky and there was a whole lot of brand name dropping. This one just didnt jive with me.

people get so blinded and misinformed when it comes to "living the American dream"... No American dream is not driving fancy cars, living in fancy houses, wearing high end clothes and eating at 5 star restaurants and dig yourself into deeper debt just to "live the American dream" American dream is living simple life, working hard, being smart about money so then you can truly live the American dream.
Something is missing. They have a strong cash flow to begin with at $175,000. What cash did they have to begin with? If they had $1.2M in debt, they may have had assets to offset that, like equity in that massive house.
