  • UPDATED 2024 VERSION: • High FPS & Visibility:...
In this video I'm gonna show you some important settings that'll give you a competitive edge in Tarkov. The top players are already making use of these settings, so I'm here to show you what to play around with and why. This video is aimed towards the newer players who haven't experimented with settings this wipe, but will still be relevant for experienced players alike. These settings will work on all maps, all weather conditions, day or night. no messing around with postfx settings every raid to try make things more visible. I'm gonna show you a technique that'll allow you to tune your settings for day or night, and even see in the darkest places in Tarkov like interchange or resort.
This is not a guide specifically to increase your FPS, though most of the settings I'll be adjusting will increase your performance... the main goal here is to improve visibility and provide a tactical advantage. For all you geezas that love playing on max settings because it looks pretty, this might not be the video for you. But it should be noted, more FPS in tarkov means faster and more consistent response times, that means less stutters and a smoother experience... which I consider a tactical advantage.

I'm done with the wipe so I'll tell your followers how to see at night. I turn PostFX Off. Contrast to 70, Gamma UP to match darkness(2+), and Digital Vibrancy to 10-20. With those simple Nvidia desktop color settings you can see pretty clearly even in really dark night. Night time Factory lacks ambient light so it doesn't work great in there, but the darkest parts are fine with just a flashlight. Digital Vibrance fixes the over saturation of the colors with that much added contrast and gamma. Now I can run night raids without NVGs and see fine. Or just stash run in peace.

LOD quality on 2 was actually worse for me. if you go to ground zero, set LOD quality to 2, and look at the bushes from the terragroup building's lobby, they will be all blocky and opaque textures. but if i set it to 4, i can see through the shrubs. id add screenshots but i don't think youtube allows links by default? but go try it out looking at the shrub/bushes on ground zero. it's very apparent.

Vsync tip here: If you can use FreeSync or GSync, go for it. There's no real reason to not use it (unless you want 150 fps if you can get them, over smoothness and no tear).
But if you're like me, mid-range to low tier PC from some years ago, and you don't want to Vsync it. Enhanced sync has been doing the trick for me. I have a 768p 60hz monitor. Enhanced Sync used to work well for me a couple of years ago, but since then I've been noticing some "roughness". It's not entirely smooth as it should be anymore. So I stopped using it. But I thought I give it a try and for Tarkov specifically, I have no tear, no noticeable input lag other than the one from low fps, and looks smooth.
