Lol my little brother and i love painting each others nails together
Waffles for breakfast on Sundays. 💜 My dad would make them (my mom usually cooked, so that alone was kind of a special thing) and we'd have all these different toppings. But the best part to me was waking up to hearing my parents talking while the cooked. They didn't have the best relationship, so it was special to hear them enjoying each other's company and I just remember that feeling of waking up and realizing what day it was and how happy I felt.

Hey Katie, Merry Christmas! Our daughter is leaving for college next month. We are so proud of her! So she's be doing a lot of extra affectionate stuff with me since she knows it won't be to much longer until she leaves my home. So, ya even older more established kids, still need to have bonding time with their parents prior to major life events.
Side note: I'll be shooting you in a little email with an update to our adoption status.
Thank you!!! These are all things we can do!!! We are working on our home study but these are all things we have done with our 3 biological kids. I never thought about how they were bonding moments. With having 3 kids, it has been important to have checkin points with them 1 on 1 to stay connected with them. I just never thought about how it was bonding time. I always thought about how I could make them feel loved and special. I have always looked at bonding as them knowing I will always be there no matter what and that they can tell me anything and we can solve problems together.
This video makes me feel better about not only adopting but about being a parent in general. Thank you thank you thank you.
The 1 thing that I will always remember and I carried to my kids is Christmas pj's. My dad got us all Christmas pj's every year. My kids look forward to them every year and we are planning on doing Christmas pj's with our adopted kids as well.
Our kids love matching Christmas pjs too! :)

My dad taking me to the park. There was a steering wheel attached to the playground and we would pretend we were driving the bus to Disney World.

Merry Christmas! I feel like when I was younger one thing I would never forget is going to the movie theater on New Year Eve! We would get the special kid snack pack and stay up super late to see the last showing of what ever movie we were going to see! Then we would go home to watch the ball drop on tv! I hope you guys have a fabulous Christmas and the happiest New Year!
