I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Tim has such a calm voice yet intriguing that his videos are ALWAYS looked forward to by me and my family. He needs his own show. Instead of Ken Burns, we need Tim to have and narrate his own series of Gettysburg information 👍
Another great morning with another great video! Very interesting topic on the founding of Gettysburg. What a shame that the cast iron dog was stolen from the founder's grave! I'll be sure and pronounce it Gett-ez-burg from now on : ) Thank you for all you folks do!
"Hello! I'm James Getty's dog. Who's dog are you?" Best line in the video. Would the ACHS ever think about recreating the dog statue and placing it on the pedestal?
My own post on my page, written earlier: Gettysburg Trivia: Most folks know about 1863's battle, but few know that Gettysburg was founded only 77 years earlier by James Gettys who, in 1786, bought 115 acres and divided that into 220 lots (which began 'Gettystown' in 1787). James had a sister, Ann, and married one Mary Todd. The two of them had two children, one being a Robert. Fast forward less than "four score" to Abraham Lincoln, who married Mary Ann Todd, and had with her his eldest child, Robert. James Gettys' grave (shown below) is located in Evergreen Cemetary on the same ground and within arms length of where Lincoln's famous Gettysburg Address was given.
Maybe someone can help? I read that Miss Harriet Bayly and her son Billy had taken in a 16yo confederate solder named" Henry Fowley." He was from the north Carolina Regiment. He was not going back. Harriet told her son Billy To "quick get some clothes you have a new brother" I often wondered what became of him. Henry is not mentioned anymore. At the time Mr Bayly was away.
Great job, as always, Tim!
Yup, every dog has its day.
Keep on people...
Thanks Tim.
I think this is my new favorite channel on CZcams!
I have to say that all of the presenters on this channel Adams County Historical Society do an amazing job, but Tim is by far the best!

Solid performance, Tim.

This was really interesting about the family name.

Mr. Smith is a ghost... pretty sure
That's pretty not funny.
