- How to Change Taskbar Size in Windows 11
Some people wanted to make the taskbar smaller on Windows 11, there is a registry tweak which helps solve this problem. But when Microsoft release the official version, I am sure there will be more features added to Windows 11 to fix these minor Windows 11 problem.
Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
create DWORD 32bit value and call it "TaskbarSi"
Set value to 1, 2 or 3

even if not subscribbed you appear when searching things for PC and it makes me happy to see you already have a video on the matter, thanks for all once again
Wow this is great thank you so much for posting this. I was going nuts. Microsoft needs to bring back a lot of features they took back from windows 10 I don't understand why make it more complicated on w11.
This solution is not working anymore. I hope someone has the right solution to this big problem. thanks
When i do your steps it worked, but i have a problem, the date and hour, sound and wireless icons are out of place.... the date is cutted almost hidden of screen...how can i change that?
Same problem dude, did you find any solution?
You using multiple displays with different resolutions? I am and I get what you describe on my main one 4k and the task bar on my second display 1080p is actually bigger now :D
The laptop I also tested it on worked fine like in the video.

This method doesn't work anymore, after some stupid updated they removed this possibility along with the "Small Icons"
you are the best in explaining how we need to do it Brian really thx for the great video's keep up the good work.
does not work for me
From what i red, this feature is not possible to do anymore, just like this video shows, and it does not seems that they will let us do it any time soon.
didnt work
I'm happy that the launch event is today! 🙂
Keep up the good work! Love all the effort!
Thanks! Will do!
when i do this, the wifi button, time, and volmue things get cut off
Great video man! Loved it! Absolutely understood in the first go. Keep it up..! Thank you for making this video.!
The icons look like wasted space - oh, it was supposed to be _fresh_ , and _airy_ and _lite_ . No problem, I'll just get a 40 inch monitor ¡
Thank you!! This helped me out the taskbar was rlly annoying.
thnx a lot man helped a lot......i was searching for it everywhere
Hello brother can you please add video about taskbar icon spacing ?as my icons have a lot of space after a new update in windows 11
Love your videos bro Windows 11 already out and you have a fix awesome 🔥👍
One update and it's gone. Taskbar is again a giant. Thanks microsoft
Yeeeaah, same here :// Booted up the PC today, and boom, giant task bar :// any solutions?
@@GustavoOio Wondering as well. This is terrible, this giant taskbar is just unused space.
This is a complete farce. They completely removed a feature that has been working for the last 20 years. It was the first thing i did after a fresh Windows install.
The hack never worked because the clock Layout was always broken. Thats why i rolled back to Win 10. If they dont add this to Win 11 or Win 12, i will be moving to MacOS.
I just installed windows 11 update and i changed taskbar size using your method, size changed but date and time got misaligned please help me

brilliant and simple, thank you! I really like it bro keep it up
Worked thanks and I only needed to sign out rather restart the system!
Now I know why there will be a W11, it is to help all the internet channels that live off telling people how to modify W11, how to change it, fix the bugs the crashes, update or don't update it and so on for the next ten years
More videos coming on Windows 11 lol
For me, the language, ethernet, sound and date symbols don't change size, making them hide "behind" the screen. Dows anyobdy have a workaround until MS fixes this?
same here, so annoying lol
@@jeanclaudethedarklord6205 did you guys find a way around it
Same problem here :(
Thanks very much for this video. It lets me know that the way I like to manipulate my taskbar is gone. I use multiple displays and keep the taskbar in a different location on each one - came looking for how to personalize the taskbar again and all I’m finding is this size option requiring edits in the registry… how bleak and boring. But I gather we who used it that way we’re viewed by the company as a small bunch not worth the (apparently large) effort to include the old and long accustomed (decades, here … decades of OSs… and loving this) option. Now just imagine what people with life-threatening changes feel like when THEY get marginalized.
ive done everything right and checked everything.. this isnt working for me :(
What resolution are you using because mine is 2560x1440 the task bar looks bad and the sound icon on the right is showing just half of it
Hello I was just messing around with this and you don't have to restart you PC all you have to do is go to task manager and restart the windows explorer processor. works 100% of the time and makes it much faster to get the size you want
I simply logged out of my user account.
@@mikem9536 that is just a slower way and you have to load all programs up again
yeah
@fabri_ what ?
@fabri_ wtf lmao
do you know how we could remove the name of the day where the date is located? it looks strange... there must be somewhere in the registry but I can't find it....
the date is partially off screen
same man, if you got a fix for that please reply to this
The taskbar icon size has reverted to MEDIUM size after KB5022913 update. TaskbarSi = 0 in the RegEdit. Any suggestions?
Same here :// for now, no solution yet
Its not working i have tried everything but it still is huge man i wish changing win 11 taskbar size was as easy as win 10's
the date in the taskbar gets hidden if y'all follow this... i'd rather suggest to decrease the display size and then increase the font size from settings
Thanks bro
That's actually how i came to this video. Because my date/time is just looking wrong now. Somehow in his case it's looking normal, hmm.
A fine tutorial, to customize windows taskbar in win11.
Thanks
I am having troubles because the the right side icons are off screen, is there a way to make it 0.5 instead of 0?
Hi, I had done this and it worked perfectly, but I think my PC updated last night and it no longer works. Could you upload an updated process?
doesn't work anymore
did you find a fix?
I'm using two monitors and when I tried this my date and some icons are off the screen. The second monitor has a normal sized bar and seems to be preventing the main screen from aligning ...any ideas?
It works. But the icons on the right are not resized and look too large. What I can do?
Maybe a worthy topic would be the system requirements needed to install Windows 11, The compatibility checker says my machine isn't compatible and this would most likely be because I didn't have safe boot enabled and TPM 2.0 I can't just change that now because it won't boot up then.
Thank you so much sir
Such a good person
thank you, it helped me👍but but the date on the right didn't fit and it's basically cut off the screen
is there a way to fix that?
Hey I found an application called S"tart11 application" look it up it helps customise start menu without the cut off, search for a tutorial on youtube
Yeah, right. They managed to arrange that this is not working after last 2 features updates. I hate those designers so much I cannot even describe.
This is the most unheard of problem EVER! Imagine all the thousands of people working with Windows, and they're not even able to get THIS right? What?!
Doesn't work anymore!
How can they release an OS to enthusiastic dev users (dev program!) with basic functionality like this lacking that's been in there since at least XP? I wonder how much more basic functionality that everyone takes for granted from windows 7/8/10 will be missing on launch.
why is Microsft under HKEY_CURRENT_USER instead of Software. The microsoft also leads to StartupApproved instead of Advanced
just started getting forcefull nudges in the win10 updates to upgrade to win11, so this was a godsend, and yes some things have changed but still have to do this to re size task bar some 2 years later.
my guy THANK YOU, I do like W11 since it's windows 10 with a skin on it, and the 5fps performance improvement just confirms I do like it
when i open thge startmode it only has 2 files.... is yours the same?
THANK YOU because it was so dang big it covered my art program and I couldn't pick what I wanted and it was so annoying so THANK YOU
Well, windows 11 just released and the taskbar resize isn't there... and if you resize it the notification area glitches...
ikr sat here debating on waiting for it to update or jus go back to win10
Yeah I agree to this it seems that the version in the video is better than the release yesterday.
@@deffoDREDD the only reason I've upgraded is that next week I'll reset my pc anyway
I have installed the latest update and the taskbar has gone back to being large and ungainly! I have looked in the registry editor and the TaskbarSi I created using this video is still there but it no longer works. I have tried deleting the TaskbarSi and redoing it but nothing happens. I am really just exasperated with how bad this version of windows is how little you can do to change things. Any advice? Tank you
Has anyone else had the problem where after changing the taskbar size the right size icons are not proportionate and the date is not visible?
Yes ...
yes man, how can i fix it?
@@munyarukinaabel958 The only solution I found was ... don't change the size.
@@wapperjaw8282 😂Okay man thanks
@@munyarukinaabel958 Perhaps 3rd party software???
Thanks, it worked, hopefully, MS adds this feature. The only problem when I add '0' as value, the first 'icons' being date/time, internet, etc., on the far bottom right, aren't aligned properly, they're a bit downward. So I had to keep the value to '1' for better alignment.
I noticed when you're having a value '1' your taskbar day/time show also the day, while mine doesn't and when you're switching to value '0' , the day/time and internet icon are centred horizontally, but mine keep showing a bit downwards, not perfectly aligned, even after I installed the latest 15 February 2022 update KB5010414.
@@iDR1Sznd Thank you for replying back. We need to hopefully wait for some future updates, maybe.
it's not working on 1080p display
only works on 4k monitors properly aligned
@@mayanktiwari0_0 neither 720p
Same here. Have you tried 0.5?
Today the system was released but It seems they didn't put this option yet, so I'm using your tutorial.
what i only need is to adjust the taskbar height a little, so the date is not half hidden under the time. but this procedure adjusts the taskbar height and make the app icons bigger at the same time. guess there is really no way to fix this half hidden date in a normal taskbar size setting.
Is there a way to remove the gap above and below the icons in the Taskbar so it's like Windows 10?
Can you create a video, where a software like berlac finds out the issues and missing files in windows and a software to resolve all those problems??? And also a video on .dlls and why are they and how helpful they are.
Doesn't quite work - now can't see the full date or clock in the corner
not working
How do you fix the icons in the right corner?
what about changing the task buttons size back like win 10?
The icons became smaller but the icon spacing is the same with previous size and the time and date, wifi, sound and battery is still the same and is not properly aligned. Is there another method? Thanks
Oh, oh, can you do a window snapping test? is it possible to snap to more than 2x2? - i got a 32:9 monitor so 2x2 snapping is too little for me.
I have done thank you sir
God bless you sir 🤗🤗
Is it possible to move the taskbar itself to the side without it glitching? I dislike its bottom position.
works.. sort of.. not really.. the bottom half of the toggles/date are cropped so no good.. assume i can just delete the folder once ive reverted back to default ? thanks
didn't work for me

i have 2 questions: First: I have a dual monitor setup and it only fixes the taskbar of the main monitor, so the taskbar on the other monitor is noticably bigger. Second: The date is bugged, so i can only see the half of the date at the taskbar. How can i fix these problems?
Works on principal (Main) monitor but in the others extended monitors only the icons chance the size... the task bar get the same
Great video... simple, easy and straight forward explanation/solution! However, one question and that is, do you still use the 32bit option when running a 64 bit system?
yes
I did everything here and it's still the same
.. What gives ?
Thank you man
Why does the time and some text in down right looks like it sink to the screen after doing it?
Thank you so much!!! Love you!!!!
wow it worked! Thank you. But one problem I'm facing and its that the battery and wifi icon in the far right corner got partially invisible.
