The 1970’s were the greatest decade in recorded music. From 1970 right on through 1979. Diverse, exciting and inspiring songs being released in rapid fire one after the other. @@SigmaTruth351 Respectfully, and firstly, as a former pre-professional dancer who was not only extensively trained in classical and contemporary ballet/pointe, jazz, tap, hip-hop, and modern dance, not to mention someone who was pretty gifted starting at a young age, but danced with a plethora of different white, black, latino, asian *[you name it]* people of all different or similar backgrounds, walks of life, upbringings, etc., as well, it is *incredibly* distasteful and entitled to not just perceive anything in the art of dance as being somehow “owned” by/belonging to a specific race or ethnicity *[i.e., your separation of “black dances” and “white music genres and dances”]* but then put that ignorant mindset out there publicly, at that. Anyone *A:* who has legitimate dance experience and training that expands across numerous forms of dance especially, *B:* who is well-educated on the history of different dance forms, or *C:* who might not have formal training but knows their dance history well enough and has danced alongside all sorts of various people will tell you that your comment and what it suggests goes directly against one of the most prominent aspects of the meaning of dance, which is not only that it is one of two *[music being the other]* universal languages in this world but that it is meant to be shared and not belong to anyone. There are pioneers in dance, yes, whether that's people creating their very own technique within a style of dance or a particular step that people coined after someone specific. However, modern dance, for example, doesn't get called a “black people’s style of dance” just because there were/are black individuals who helped pioneer the dance form, for there were people of several different races or ethnicities that all as a unit helped pioneer the style of dance that is modern dance. Guess who choreographed *most* of the African and gospel-style pieces on myself and the rest of the pre-professional company members *[all white, mind you]* I danced with? Black choreographers, my friend. If you insist upon holding this disdain for “white people shit,” white and black people sharing culture *[i.e., “like, go to your own culture”],* and, hell, perhaps just white people as a whole *[it’s hard not to see it as a possibility when you demonstrate what you did here-it would ultimately be just straight up racism if that were the case]* including viewing what you *think* are “white dances” and “white music” as being somehow inferior to what you *think* are “black dances” and “black music,” then that's on you and the overall unnecessary and ignorant attitude that does *nothing* but contribute to the list of things wrong in this world *[primarily in the US, in this case].* However, don't think that you can use the arts as some illegitimate tool for you to utilize as a way of either wilfully or subconsciously creating separation/division where it has never belonged and still doesn't belong. Your remark about popular music is just so objectively wrong and flawed that I don't even want to get into it, lol.

The 70s is the best in all genres of music. Life was simple in the Atl. and no locking of doors and we knew our neighbors!!!
That's nice but you should ALWAYS lock your doors....😬
@@ellove370🤗 ABSOLUTELY!😳 whether u know your neighbors or not!😅😂🤣
@@pairrynwatson4229 I appreciate you so much because on this issue I never received any positive feedback.🥰🥰

Wow! 1960s thru 80s were the best times of my life. Such beautiful people and music. Look at those beautiful, all natural, in shape, stylish sisters! Fully clothed but still sexy as hell. What's happened to us😢?

I know. I just had a conversation with my girlfriends about this very topic. Sistas embraced themselves back then and made it work. This generation of sistas all they know is tummy tucks, veneers, BBLs and bleaching their skin. Wow!!!
I knew I would see this silly comment here
@@8luvbug Nothing silly about the truth dear. Only hit dogs holla!!!
@@TNT1719 No you have on your rose tinted glasses. Some of those women weren't fully clothed and there was plastic surgery back then too. Take them off for a moment and you'll see it
They were so cool, no vulgarity, no trash behavior. Pure groove, soul and grace.
Class is still an issue for some

That's how we were raised. Fortunately 😊

70's ....best time of my life!!!!
I remember when Soul Train was in Chicago, in black and white. Then they moved to California. The dancing style was different, but we couldn't wait for Saturday afternoons.
From Chicago, remember that too. Jammin to the 🎶🎵🕺🏾💃🏾in the living room while Soul Train was on😊
World-wide people watched Soul Train to learn the latest dance steps. These phenomenal dancers were trailblazers.

Beautiful women and men having fun peacefully and enjoying the vibrational sounds. Great times. We need to get back to this harmony.
The 70s music was the absolute best, the 70's style of dress is back. Please return the music from then. People could sing along to every word and enjoy hearing and feeling every sound of it. That was when music was real and not slapped together lyrics to make a dollar. But real heartfelt music that's timeless.
If this dont bring back memories💯I remember fantasizing I was them dancing down that line....
@juliajames4856🤗 Yeah, the millennial generation likes the 70s dress styles, music🎶 and hairfros!😍

Good Ole days! When I see and hear this, I think of when life was so much fun and the clothes wow! I just didn't know in the 70's that we would be in a world like today. I wish I could close my eyes and go to sleep and the world we live in today, was just a dream, this is a messed up world today. The 70's, 80's was the best, even the music was better back in the day.
So true... this generation is crazy and dangerous
Sem dúvida! As décadas de 70 e 80 são referência de boa música até hj! Era outro mundo, um mundo mais sincero.❤❤❤

Ms. Gloria, I wish the same thing you wish. To go back to a time that was peaceful and neighborly, especially in the black community. We were so unified as a people. It was beautiful!

The GREATEST. ❤ REAL MUSIC WITH A MEANING.
The 70s was the era where music was grooving, it started it all and it still sounds good today..
The 1970’s were the greatest decade in recorded music. From 1970 right on through 1979. Diverse, exciting and inspiring songs being released in rapid fire one after the other. How lucky we were to be alive during the greatest time of our lives. Non-stop excitement, discotheques, movies, tv and parties where we all got along without cell phones and internet. Can someone invent a Time Machine in the future and transport people back to a gentler, loving era? Godspeed ❤.
I was born 1980 and always feel like I missed out on this dope decade. I love ❤️ 70s ✌🏾!
Its unfortunate that you DIDNOT . It was a truly phenomenal time to be living !! but its wonderful that you enjoy or have such appreciation for the 70's and 60's. cuause it was TRULY ALL OF THAT!!!! FOR US LIVING DURING THAT ERA!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤💘💋💘💘💘💘💘❤❤❤❤❤❤👏👏👏👍👍💋💋IT WAS TRULY BEAUTIFUL!! 💟💕💖💘💟💕🌸🌸💕💟

I was born in the 70s and I swear the music, fashion and how people just roll back then was awesome. I will forever listen to 70s and 80 s music!!!
This takes me back to my high school days, dancing in the house parties and the clubs, there was no violence, no stabbings, no shootings, just good old fashioned dancing with your classates and meeting up with your crew dancing until 2 am then we went to Silks in Emeryville CA, Thank you Mr Don Cornelius for creating Soul Train and bringing Joy to our lives, rest in peace! 🌹⚜️🇺🇸🦋
That Soul Train dance down the line was always the highlight of a party.🎶❤️
The 70s were the best era by far and the music was amazing 🤩

Yep & she sorta looks like Keke Palmer to me. 😊
They all did well, this comparison and unnecessary competition is exactly why we don't have dance clubs anymore.

Yes totally agree….from a Philly girl
I’m so blessed to grow up in the 60 & 70 the best music of all time

Yes…natural ❤
Those were the Golden Times... family, food and Music 🎵....
My heart ❤️ flutters and misses Saturday morning in Chicago watching Soul Train!!! The house had to be cleaned!!!!
I partied in the late 70s, fabulous fashion, fabulous music, fabulous shoes and dancing. Young people have no idea what they’ve missed out on.
Say it again... Young folks can't even stay out in the evening without worrying about gunfire and becoming victims in the streets. Sad state of affairs we find ourselves in today...
I agree!!!! I thank God I grew up during this decade!! This is my childhood!d! 💃🏽 🪩
I agree. I love the music and watching movies and shows from the 70s just to see the clothes, the cars, the fashions. I even look up companies and stuff and products that I see in the movie, to see if they are still in existence! Black folks certainly had more pride in their ethnicity back then as well.
GLAD TO HAVE BEEN BORN IN THE 70's... I LOVED WATCHING THE SOUL TRAIN LINE & AMERICAN BANDSTAND...THOSE MOVES BACK THEN 😮😮😂😂.. PRICELESS ❤
Yessss
The joy that the soul train line brings me is INDESCRIBABLE ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Soul Train was like a drug. I was addictive to this show. I learn to dance from this show‼️ I am 62 now and still remember how to do those popular dances. Have mercy‼️‼️
Black Dances. Popular refers to white music genres and “dances”. Some many posers in the comments. Like go to your own culture.
I am 62 as well. Such beautiful memories😊
You were born between 1961-62.You were a child to a kid.By 1981 you were a teenager.
If you insist upon holding this disdain for “white people shit,” white and black people sharing culture *[i.e., “like, go to your own culture”],* and, hell, perhaps just white people as a whole *[it’s hard not to see it as a possibility when you demonstrate what you did here-it would ultimately be just straight up racism if that were the case]* including viewing what you *think* are “white dances” and “white music” as being somehow inferior to what you *think* are “black dances” and “black music,” then that's on you and the overall unnecessary and ignorant attitude that does *nothing* but contribute to the list of things wrong in this world *[primarily in the US, in this case].*
However, don't think that you can use the arts as some illegitimate tool for you to utilize as a way of either wilfully or subconsciously creating separation/division where it has never belonged and still doesn't belong.
Your remark about popular music is just so objectively wrong and flawed that I don't even want to get into it, lol.
I loved and lived to watch Soul Train every Saturday morning!
Omg!!!! What great Memories ❤❤❤❤❤. We were brought up listening too funk, soul, and any kind of music that made you move. Mom's grandmother was African/Scottish/Portuguese. My mom would put Records on the Record player and off we'd go dancing ❤❤❤❤❤
Yes! I remember the old 70's record player with the arms that hold the record and dropped them on the platter and start spinning and the needle arm move to the beginning groove and then start playing.Remember we as kids would move the needle on the groove to skip to find the best part of the music or guess to skip to the next track to find that hit music bc there were 5 to 12 tracks.
Good Times! Watching the best dancers on Soul Train😀and the best Music!!!!
