      Haha a little bit on and off. Thanks, enjoy Sea Otter if you go? Sitting this year out, taking a break from the expense fest it has become.

    5500USD for a frame set . . . what are you looking at for an Ultegra build? 10k with wheels?

    Love this bike, geometry is almost perfect for me. I am considering size 52. Can I ask you the distance from center BB to top of the saddle? And if you know how high from ground is the top of the saddle and top of base of the hoods? I have Aethos 54 and Domane 52 and I want to sell them and buy only one bike. My right size is somewhere in between - and the Fray looks like the perfect match.

    How conservative is the tire clearance max size? Could you squeeze in 40mm Terra speed on 25mm IW wheels with enough clearance to avoid taking the paint off when riding gravel?

      Just get the Mog, as opposed to the Fray.

      @@Penalist I have a gravel bike (Open UP) already that I use mostly as an endurance road bike/bad weather bike ( I also have road bikes) with some gravel events thrown in. I wanted something that could do both but with a stronger focus on the road side. The fray seems like its so close to what I need but without 40mm tire clearance (including room for at least some mud) it falls a bit short. I was hoping enve was being conservative on tire clearance.

      Yeah, you could pull that off with a svelt 40mm, though you'll never see an approval from ENVE. I've crammed a 38mm rambler in the Melee and the Fray has ample room compared to Melee.

    For gravel racing….mog or fray?

    • @GravelCyclist
      @GravelCyclist  Před měsícem

      Depends on the race, but I would likely choose the MOG.

    Seems like the classic "Jack of all trades, master of none..." type of bike. You'd need to a be a specific kind of rider who who wants some versatitly, but content to have a bike that is not a high performer in either area. Fine in theory, but as most of us know riders very rarely ride 50/50 Road/Gravel....whichever style of riding you end up dong the majority in I bet you find youurself frustrated with this bike in the longterm - esopecially in group ride scenarios.
