Watching you back that trailer up was giving me flashbacks of backing loaded hay wagons into a barn where the opening was 3'wider than the trailer. From a tractor with no mirrors so you couldn't see down the sides of the wagon. So I was glad you commented that backing that trailer up was not fun. That extra pivot point is a PITA.

“These things are not fun to back up!” Welcome to farm life. I learned to back up a grain wagon when I was about 10. It is a whole ‘nother matter to back up steerable wheels on a trailer. Nice job doing it with a wrecker tho. A farm tractor can turn way shorter than your wrecker, making it quite a bit easier; I’m impressed. But the best I’ve ever seen was a neighbor who backed up 2 wagons at the same time. 😊

Same principle as backing up a car on a tow dolly. Every extra pivot point drastically increases the difficulty and potential frustration. At least you're a skilled operator with a good feel for your equipment and a solid understanding of the practical geometry and physics involved in getting it done, and that goes a long, long way toward making it easier. Thanks for this one!

Ive backed triple piggy back trucks, its tricky to figure out but the process is simple, you push the first pivot one way to push the second pivot the other way to get the rear end to go where you want. With this trailer you almost backup like normal (as in no trailer normal), just with a tighter swing radius

Hooked the 20 ft pup to the pintle hitch on the back of the semi tractor then had to back it onto a tilt dump...I have witnessed grown assed over the road truckdrivers achieve meltdown status trying to back that mess up! I used to drive wagon and A frame drag, (rigid lorry with two or three axle trailer), reversing them around the streets of Britain I needed to get it right first time as traffic rarely gave you a chance to reposition, slow and steady just as you did is the way to go.

Way, way back when I was a very young fellow working on a farm in the summer holidays, we had four wheel hay trailers with the two front wheels on an axle mounted below a turntable and, just like your trailer, they were a nightmare to back up quickly and accurately especially when loaded as they got quite "tippy".
So our farm mechanic mounted a hitch on the front of our tractors and it then took but a minute or so to drop the trailer draw-bar upon arrival at the hay barn, turn the tractor around, hitch up, and then push the trailer quickly and easily into place.
A new assistant farm manager arrived mid-way through the hay season and scoffed at this "palaver" as he called it and told us "I''ll show you how it's done".
I'm still not sure how he managed to tip the bloody trailer - and it's load of bales - on it's side whereupon he jumped out of the tractor, drove off in his pick-up and wasn't seen again until the following day!
Needless to say, we carried on turning the tractors around - and so did he!!

I'm surprised ODOT didn't want to inspect the OE trailer lighting. Every time I've registered SPCNS (Special Construction--home built) trailers here in CA they've checked all the lights. Never done the first registration on a new factory-built trailer, but I imagine it would be the same.

9:19 Casey there’s a pin to lock the turn table to make it easier to reverse in a straight line .. certainly don’t use to back around corners or use when loaded

Like that trailer, I'd build a camper for it that could be put on and taken off from the side with the drop down sides, then go camping 👍👍

That set-up looks like a handful going forward. My thoughts; At time stamp 5:50 you apply slings for safety chains, before doing this put one of your axle straps on each side holding the attachment to the under reach. you need to think about exactly what will happen if one of the chains holding the underreach straight brakes. any side-to-side force on the pintle is going into these 2 chains and the chains a reliant on pressure to hold the attachment down. Ultimately, I don't think the chain will brake but the loop on the attachment will, either way if one fails the trailer is gone and will roll on its own until it runs out of air lines.

Recommend add some sort of roof protector on your Hazmat/Hazwaste Bins. Shop I worked at the damn thing would leak everytime it rain and being the hourly tech guess who had to clean it out in the most crude methods starting with a plastic cup.... All because whom ever installed it, installed it with the drain ports are at highest point for the secondary containment drain (plastic open top box below the floor you want on). Put some bed liner like on the roof both outside and inside once all rust is all removed. Took over a year for ours to get band-aid since Govt. Their first fix as fold up a plastic tarp/liner and stack wooden pallets on top. Then take sheet metal with glue and self tap screws done by Govt. Without telling us they setup scaffolding around it and told us they wont work on it unless its empty. We can't empty it unless it's waste picked up, can't empty it for waste pickup with the scaffolding in place as it blocked doors. That's why on the paperwork it was NOTED we needed notice. Oops our bad, but you are still paying for our fuck up twice. Then they started fighting, so crew was told to move on to the next job site, and now we have no place to store our haswaste as an auto repair shop... So shop management made ME setup a pallet for said waste and I had to wheel it out and in when I start and end my shift. Went on two week leave and came back to find its been sitting outside, full of rain water and hazmat, techs just dumping their shit in my bay and said "thats not my job, hes hourly fuck him" and I get wrote up for it all and nearly terminated while I was on 2 week leave. wtf
