I didn’t want Michael Jackson to stop singing. Sounded cool doing his interpretations of those songs. I love the change in his voice. He sounds like the way he did on the “Moving Violation” album.
This was an interesting portion of Michael's career. His voice had fully changed during that 1974 period and he had to musically embarce and grow into his entirely new vocal tone. That is NOT easy for a 15-16 year old young man to do.
@@EarlMcDowellJr Very good observation. I found out that when Michael’s voice changed, he would practice singing in his “new” voice around the house. By the time we heard it, he kinda knew where he was gonna go vocally. I prefer this ‘74-‘82 voice.
i realize it is pretty randomly asking but do anyone know of a good site to watch new tv shows online?
@Zahir Parker flixportal
@Braylen Abraham Thanks, I signed up and it seems like a nice service :D I appreciate it!!
Randy drops the mike, literally.
What a lovely treat. Never saw this. Michael s voice is so good

Michael’s voice causes a thousand chemical reactions in my brain
Amen
Yessssirrr
the best presenting of nominations l've ever seen ..so fun
They should win an award just for the presentation.
Love Michael's deeper registers here. His vocal tone was amazing. Wish he used them more often.
What are the hell are u talking about??

He climbed into the window.....
Who would've thought what Michael would be doing at the Grammy's 10 years from this?? 🤔❤️☺️
EXACTLY! 😄

Michaels voice is ultimate.
I love this. Gladys Knight is the one who ACTUALLY discovered the Jackson 5.
Bobby Taylor and the Vancouvers
Tommy Chong from Cheech and Chong is credited for discovering The Jacksons. Yet this label us stupid. Anyone who is talented first discovers it themself.
@@east00 BIBLE, GOD through HIS WORD calls us fools if we say "THERE IS NO GOD"
Psalms 53:1 (To the chief Musician upon Mahalath, Maschil, A Psalm of David.) The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good. Psalms 14:1 (To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.) The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
We all like titles to carry, and we either take titles to our own, name ourselves to be that and that or the title(s) are given to us by this world.
Therefore, why we like not when GOD titles us the most correctly and calling us fools when we clearly are fools?
Proverbs 18:2 - A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself.
Proverbs 29:11 - A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.
Proverbs 1:7 - The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Proverbs 18:6 - A fool's lips enter into contention, and his mouth calleth for strokes.
Proverbs 28:26 - He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
Proverbs 18:7 - A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.
Proverbs 12:16 - A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame.
When GOD calls us FOOLS, then we are FOOLS.
To all who say so:
"yes i support that all people could date or like whatever they want"
there are those who mate with animals - why you support it?
there are those who mate with children, why are you supporting?
there are those who cut off body parts and practice homosexual lifestyles - why do you support?
Why on earth is SINS supported?
Why is being SICK is seen as being “cool”?
And many complain that they to be FOOLS?
Many are blind and deaf fools.
@@east00Tommy was a MEMBER of Bobby Taylor and the Vancouvers group. Bobby Taylor discovered them.
The irony. Gladys discovered the Jackson Five, told Bobby Taylor about them who went to Berry Gordy who put them with Diana Ross as discovering the J5, since she had the most pull. Thank you, Gladys.

Trueeeeeee
THESE , ARE THE GREATS OF OUR TIME & GENERATION!!!❤🎶 Such timeless footage! I'm completely in awe watching this!!! Wow
Little did the Grammys awards, and the Grammy crowd, Michaels brothers and mike himself know that a decade later in 1984 he would win 8 Grammys winning a world record. Little did they know
Why the crowd be looking like that 😂
The Ink blot i agree. They look pissed. HA.
kiddlelover43 that’s a VERY interesting analysis. I wasn’t born during their prime but i think you’re right. Michael Jackson at this stage was no longer a cute phenomenon. He just looks like a ordinary teen who just happens to sing with his brothers. The magic in that sense was gone cuz they weren’t new anymore. The days of “ABC”, “The Love You Save” were over. Hence why they needed more mature material like “Dancing Machine” and “Get it Together”. Another factor is Michael’s voice. He sounded like a totally different singer now. His true fans, I’m guessing, didn’t care and just loved the Jackson 5 period. We forget that Michael grew up in front of his fans. It was a VERY difficult transition. We never saw what was goin on behind the scenes. His growth, his changing voice, his baby face was gone etc. that would take a toll on anyone in the spotlight.
I know right😂😂
I know right
kiddlelover43 well his voice was still great, and everyone ended up readjusting to him. It got better for him at 17 and everyone is even cheering him on here.
Michaels voice just soars in this. What a gift that man had
The irony here is that Gladys Knight and the Pips were supposed to get the song that would be "I Want You Back" and got de-prioritized when the Jackson 5 came on the scene (even though Gladys Knight was one of the people to discover the Jackson 5).
Didn’t know that! Cool
I love Gladys Knight
then David Ruffin recorded it czcams.com/video/e5XVyrioSV4/video.html
It was actually Bobby Taylor, a Motown artist, who discovered the Jackson’s...while seeing their act when he was on the road...he introduced them to Motown.
@@OldskolFan Bobby Taylor got them their audition but Gladys Knight discovered and tried to get them an audition first.
I remember this. Back when my sister and I wouldn’t miss a GRAMMY telecast. I thought it was interesting seeing Tito without his guitar singing and doing choreography with his brothers.
The best brothers ever, i dont care what anyone says this is the best brotherhood.
This is just ridiculously good.
best one is midnight train to georgia. wish we could've had a full cover of that by J5. the way michael sang "leeeavin'..." sooo silky smooth. RIP
Thank you for posting this! The guys did a great job. I love these gems! Live! Upbeat! And the winner is......
That song is phenomenal ! Midnight Train to Georgia!👏🏻
Beautiful
I had read about Randy sometimes participating in the group even before officially replacing Jermaine in 1976, but this is my first time seeing a video of it!
Yes, on a couple of variety shows. Once with Jermaine. I can imagine some not familiar with the Jackson 5 couldn’t figure out why there were six brothers when that occurred.
Michael was high-key sounding better than the leads on there own songs
I thought it was just me lol.
Lol. Yeahhhh. But not really cause those singers were all genius but MJ was just special
You must be dreaming if you think he sounded better than Gladys Knight. Sorry, very talented, but no one could sing that song like Gladys Knight.
michael hamming it up as always❤❤❤❤🐼
😁😁😁Randy is adorable
Awwwh this is great!!! The Jackson's are such a talented family.
Gladys Knight is a beautiful woman!!! Even as a small child I remember looking at her and thinking she was sooooo beautiful and elegant.
This video made me smile today watching these great people do what they loved.
Man they were taking them songs and making it there's
First time seeing them singing all together I'm cryin
Randy got his ass beat for dropping the mic on live television 😆
Back when this award shows where fun
すごい。プロの仕事。I mean J5 and the drummer are super cool.
I bet randy was like oh sh$t joe gonna kill me
Well Randy, you know you got a ass-kicking coming from Poppa Joe for dropping that mic. You know how he is about 'slips'.
3:05 A Brief Motown Reunion!!!
Gladys and the jacksons yayyyy 💜💜💜
Thank you for this 🙂
Mmmmmmm Maravilloso me encanta muchísimo volverlo a ver qué guapooooo está mi chico Michael Jackson ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Uaaaaaaau !!!!!
De volta ao passado em grande estilo!!!!
MICHAEL fez a diferença no grupo e hoje ele faz muita falta nesse mundo "maluco" que temos, onde a música dele seria um diferencial...mas temos o legado deixado por ele.
That was awesome! Thank you for sharing. 🙂
The black folks in the audience are looking like “if y’all don’t present that damn award”😂😂Seriously, who’s idea was it to turn The Jacksons into a vaudeville act? They did something very similar a few years later at the Grammys. They were a brilliant group, but someone had them out there doing some corny shit, cause they didn’t have a say-so in anything during that time.
Damn what a year that was!!!! All those songs in one year!
U cant beat these guys ...cisco kid hell yeah...!!!
Jermaine was sick at that time jermaine left the group in 1975
Randy says "oh war!" 😂😂
The way Jackie says Oh the O'Jays
@@Wonder2win WHOOOOO??!!
CUANTA BELLEZA...
MJ, HERMANOS, GLADYS N...
GRACIAS POR TANTO MJ ❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yesssss i love her
hahahaha the guy at 2:08 made me wheeze. What a dead reaction he has to this awesome presentation lol
Michael wanted to keep singing the Spinners song. Great songs in that category
When they werent openly doing rituals on stage. It's crazy how things get worse over time. This is so creative what they did here on presenting the award. Very shameful where things are today.
Midnight train to Georgia was song inspired by Farrah Fawcett and Lee Majors. Gladlys' manager at the time was a good friend of Lee Majors; they were on the same college football team together.
All I wanted to see and hear was Michael😊
nice idea they had
This seemed to foreshadow their Vegas act and tv show.
Randy sounds just like Michael
10 years later👀
This was FAANTASSTIC❣️❣️ Love the JACKSON 5/THE JACKSONS❤️❤️💜These Brothers grew up and had such Class. I can imagine they were All well-behaved growing up with a strict Father. Looking back at Michael Jackson' Entertainment History, it's Hard to Believe that he would be a p----. I Truly Believe it's a LIE. And, that a Racist made it up to destroy the wonderful Talent that is Michael Jackson. There is so much JOY in his voice & the Spirit of JOY (High positive energy) cannot Exist with the (low negative energy) of sinful acts. . ....
Daughter of The King My cousin was a bodyguard for MJ, I know for a fact that it was and still a lie. Michael loved children too much that he would never hurt them. They wanted to destroy Michael, by damaging his image and trying to take all his money. They were pissed off that a Black man out did everyone else. It’s sad that even still us Black people still fight just to live.
I agree with you 100% but you have to understand that Michael Jackson was his own worse enemy. After the first time they told him, look don't ever give them another reason to make those same allegations whether you did it or not. Don't ever be alone with children. He didn't listen and sure enough up pops those same allegations which, came AFTER the 20,000,000 dollar settlement. All's I'm saying is that he should have listened to what his management team told him. What the hell was he paying them for if he wasn't going to listen to them? If it was me, the only kids I would ever be alone with would have been my own. Everything before the trial and during almost killed him. I'm surprised he lasted as long as he him. He was broke and broken before he died. RIP Michael Jackson, and thank you Joe Jackson for sharing your talented family with us. We truly were the lucky one's. PS I know there are alot of people out there who hate Joe Jackson, but without him there would have never been a Michael Jackson and who was it that showed up for Court with Michael Jackson? Diana Ross, Brooke Shields, Quincy Jones, Berry Gordy, or Lisa Marie Presley? Nope, it was Joe Jackson. Now my work here is done...Have a great day.
Michael was innocent. And proven so in every case. The FBI even had an open line for anyone to report him. For 10 years. They have a 99% conviction rate. They found nothing. The malicious lies broke a gem of a person who was truly a CHAMPION for children.
Muito legal esses registros!
2:56 😂
AHAHAH I CAN’T STOP LAUGHING ABT THIS😂😂😂
Why was the audience looking so crazy????
Y’all think Joseph have Randy a whooping?
Did you post there song ( all I do is think of you) ? I love this song
They should of covered that might night train song
Technically speaking these are The Jacksons unless Randy was filling in for a temporarily missing Jermaine. Gladys set up their Motown audition, not Diana Ross. RIP to Michael, RIP to Shelley, RIP to William Guest, RIP to Edward Patton, legends in this video.
Jeramine jackson must been sick
@@kingsports1113Jermaine got married to Hazel Gordy less than 2 months before this telecast. He was likely still on Honeymoon.
When he dropped the mic
Where are you finding these old videos
It’s Michael and the Jackson 5 Now 😂❤️.
Ewww the crowd 😭
Grammy could do im this new decade 2020s
I wonder where Jermaine was?
Uhhh...."Married Barry Gordy's daughter, Hazel🤨 and left.
@@LC-hq9pd I was about to say that
DJ Gary Uhh, he left in 1975... This is 1974.
@@everythingmj_4809 for sure but he was definitely married and probably felt not obligated to show up cause it wasn't a performance Jermaine likes to perform from what I gathered plus
He got married in December of 73 this is grammys so January 74 honeymoon perhaps?
DJ Gary That is very possible! Definitely would make sense.
Michael ❤️❤️
Where is Jermaine???? He didn't leave the group as of yet. ???
Gladys looks beautiful in this dress... wow... love this whole spill but the audience did not look impressed lol
Hell is a place where there is no REST OR PEACE, there is TORTURE AT ALL TIMES AND IT IS FOR ALL ETERNITY, but accept Jesus and surrender to him while there is still time
Can some one tell what did he blow on At 1:46
Where was Jermaine at during this performance?
Think he was sick
I bet Joe was ready to strangle Randy for dropping that Mic 🎤
Did you see Kenny Loggins & Kim Messina in the audience?
Where’s Jermaine this was 1974
Remember he left early then came back then left
Wait I’m wrong when the other Jackson’s went to epic records Jermaine stayed at Motown because he married hazel Gordy and Barry Gordy was they producer.
He started missing dates as early as 74 because he knew they were leaving that next year
And no one realizes he just gotten married just before this . Possible on his honeymoon.
dchi2012 Tito was married in 1972 Jackie married in 1974 so Jermaine probably was sick maybe
Gladys won this nomination in 1973, does she?
Where jeramine jackson
It should of been the spinners
I the girl in the crowd looking like ?
2:34
Micheal should have done this with one other talent same age as him. ...that's all. Would have played better the brothers were just smothering each other and it looked it
They was his harmonies and choreography. It would be so boring and wouldn’t sound right without his brothers next to him..stop.
Mj res pect (lam sorry) 🤴 😭
Bad bunny thinks he is better than MJ... Oh poor generation
I didn't like her last comment
X
I hate to say this, that sucked.
