As a child, I adored Christmas. The good vibes when the tree was up. The yummy food. Classic Christmas music. Everyone seemed in good spirits. As I got older, the vibes changed. When I started buying gifts for people outside of my family and my best friend ( they are easy to shop for) it became so stressful that I didn’t enjoy it anymore. The anxiety I get, hoping what I got (bf brother’s in laws, if that makes sense) made me enjoy it less. And to top it all off, not to be a downer but this is my reality, my mom passed away December 26, 2017. We took her off life support on Christmas Day. So my Christmas is forever changed. I put my tree up (gothic inspired) in her memory cause she loved Christmas. And for my bf who had pretty crappy Christmas’ in his late teens, thanks to his mom. So the tree goes up for us to enjoy. And we have a pretty quiet celebration (if you can even call it that anymore)🎄🎄
On a positive note, I love the theme :D
My December theme was Nightmare Before Christmas, can't believe its been a year of bullet journalling!

To be quite honest I hate Christmas because it's one of the most miserable times of the year for me. When I was a child I used to LOVE it, but after some deaths happened it just another day of the year when it seems that everyone in the entire planet is full of joy whilst in truly sad 😅

Christmas always gives me so much anxiety. It’s way too stressful and my mind (I’m autistic) can’t cope with all the triggers, so I usually have to find a quiet place to sit alone every hour or so. You’re not alone in this Chlo😊

I usually look forward to Christmas season because the weather gets colder (I live in a place that’s very hot and humid TvT) so it gives me an excuse to bundle up and take a break from certain things. It just feels more cozy for me whenever I’m taking time for myself. But I can see the stressful side of it though, my mom is always running around trying to get cooking done and things ready for Christmas. It’s also the end of the first semester of school here in America too😬 Either way, I hope everyone here has a Happy Holidays and to stay safe ❤️

I do love Christmas a lot but I get why other people don’t, so I hope you just have an amazing month of December without anyone putting Christmas pressure on you 💓 also I love that theme, the little ghosts on the tree are adorable!!
I too used to love Christmas, but have a love/hate relationship with it as well. Love it for my boys, but hate it because one personal reason is that it was my grandpa's favorite holiday, he loved the music, the fanfare, the giving, the true magic of it all. To me he was the spirit of Christmas and it hasn't been the same for 11 years. I have to ignore most Christmas music especially the song Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas or I will start crying. That's only one reason, but the main reason.
I have since I was young preferred Halloween over Christmas, it's just the way I am. I think because I don't have to be told that something is not fake with that holiday.

I totally understand the love/hate thing with Christmas, ultimately how you feel about a certain holiday is up to you and no one should ever bring you down for it! Yup, Christmas is totally 'meh' to me. It's such a big deal here in Germany but everyone always complains about how stressful it is and how much money they have to spend on gifts.. Lol I literally don't do anything for Christmas, me and my husband don't even buy gifts for each other. I just don't care and I'm so much more relaxed than everyone else lol

An idea for your reading journal at the end of the year for the aesthetics is if you print all the covers of all the books you read and organize them in the way goodreads does when you click on the year in books 2020 button on your profile (does that make sense)

I love this theme...I love christmas because I love giving to others and seeing their faces when they receive their gifts but it can be so stressful at times...I'm so using this as inspiration for my book journal especially the black tree cuz my tree is black 😁 thank you for always having great ideas n stunning work
I started a reading journal earlier this month cause I was so inspired by yours and I love it so much, wish I started earlier
I like Christmas vibes but since my parents are divorced, the end of the year is never spent with family. I'll usually go to my stepmother's brother house, and while they're nice people, we aren't close at all. The only times I have truly enjoyed Christmas is when we get to travel to my mother's home country and spend the holidays with my grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins etc, but those occasions are so rare that I usually just want to spend Christmas alone lol, if there's one good thing about the pandemic is that I'll be able to say no to gatherings and not feel bad about it at all xD
I'm not a huge Christmas person either. My in-laws LOVE Christmas and I'm like meh.

My great grandma, who literally had her bday on christmas day, passed away when I was 4yo and since then the whole family "celebrates" chritsmas but everything is so depressing and gloom that I grew up not caring about it (aside the food) and honestly hate when the season approaches since I'm forced to "celebrate" with my family. Outside people literally have called me a heartless monster for saying that I dislike the holiday season without even caring to listen to the reason why and that just makes me even more depressed.
Your video cheered me up some and I'm happy to hear that I'm not alone on that aspect, always appreciate your honest thoughts as they helped to bright my day a little bit more.
