I use REAL feathers in my projects but.......I have chickens and they molt 2 times a year and my lord feathers are all over the place! I just pick them up off the floor, no harming my girls at all, I'm pretty sure they don't care if I take them from the floor..
That’s great! I wish they could collect feathers that had fallen when the geese shed or after they die, but I saw videos of them ripping the feathers off the geese fast and harshly so that the skin is ripped off also leaving them with wombs that get infected. I understand sacrificing animals for food but I do want them to have some quality of life while they are alive. I’m happy to hear you won’t hurt your birds.😊

I rather used real feathers as well. But, to be plucked off their bodies as Toni has described the process to be.
I like to collect those feathers that have fallen from the hens, geese, and etc naturally.
Truthfully I have real black feathers in many floral arrangements which I purchased at an antique shop.
Needless to say, Toni I like your faux feathers with paper too

I heard what you said and I'm glad you cleared it up I had bought a bunch of imitation colored feathers years ago like maybe seven or eight years ago at a dollar store in Weymouth Massachusetts but I haven't looked for them since then so I'm not really sure where you get them if you get them but I love her perfect paper feathers came out they were great just wanted to let you know thank you for sharing 😊👍🙏💜

Our town allows people to raise urban chickens. Chickens molt, so when they do, I collect their feathers that have fallen out. I could never hurt an animal, especially not a chicken.
