reply 1988 brought me here
Same like me 😂
Lol I am also totally here btw reply 1988 is one the best k-drama I have ever watch
I'm curious because of reply 1988
me too lol
This is my favourite strategy game, when I go out I keep a foldable baduk board that has a section to house the stones, I love how something from such simplicity becomes something of such depth and complexity, it is not only a fun game to play but a teacher and helps you reflect upon yourself and how you interact or engage in life that then helps you conduct yourself better in life by giving more forethought to anything that you are about to do and how to manage more stressful situations in life.
It's the most popular game in Korea, although most people around the world know it by its Japanese name. Learn how to play Baduk (Go/Weiqi) in the third installment of my Korean Gaming series.
That it was. I love seeing all the variations now.
You totally should! I loved playing games like this with my father!
I've been playing this game for almost 7 years. It's a wonderful game.
Well done, congratulations
Glad I was able to make it interesting for you!
reply 1988 said baduk improves concentration and I'm taking college exams soon and I need concentration.
My pleasure!
Great video! Thank you very much.
That's what makes it awesome!
I will probably do that at some point. Thanks for the suggestion.
It is. Do you play in any tournaments?
im 14 and it makes me curious how it works ajdnajdahb thanks for this video.
Great came. I haven't played that in years!
In Japan, there was a popular manga called Hikaru No Go which was made into an anime that really got into the game, its rules and the life of a competitive player. I really enjoyed that series although I suck at the game.
I loved the anime! (was collecting the manga but only got a handful of volumes in) About twenty years ago, some of the locals & I tried to start something of a club for baduk & xiangqi in our home town. When playing the former, a few of us would make the occasional HNG reference, most often the imitating wavering, distraught way people seemed to say 'makemashita' on the show.
Yup, I've played in the US Open a few times. I've also organized a Go Club in my home town, and another at the university I went to.
Very cool! What's better? Starcraft 1 or 2?
I came here because of Reply 1988/ Choi Taek
Go!
Thanks for watching!
Really interesting Game! :D Thanks, Steve!
I was really hoping you'd show Starcraft! It's definitely one of my favourite strategy games. It's a game that takes a mind of a chess player with the hands of a pianist. Plus, it's fun to watch things blow up.
Great Vid!! I like this game
I like "Ticket to Ride" which is a game that uses trains to connect different cities in Europe.
I love TTR. Jo and I play it on our iPhones all the time. Well, the US edition. We haven't purchased the Europe or India maps yet.
Perhaps in the next gaming series!
I watch it because of Reply 1988~
Wow , It was great video.I want to improving baduk in the whole world so I want people to know that baduk is so funny and involved philosophy .
I joined quite a lot of tournaments though (played for 10 years already, i think)
Easy to Learn, Hard to Master.
And Yes, CZcams algorithm brought me here after 7 years.
Hey Steve, I've recently started playing Baduk as a hobby and quickly found I prefer it to chess (which WAS my favorite strategy game). I've found a great phone app, but I'm having difficulty finding an adequate physical gameboard-- I either find small poor quality 9x9 boards, or super expensive hand carved wooden 13x13 and 19x19 boards. I'm looking for something very much like you featured in your video, and that I could obtain here in the States.
Do you know that korean game where they fold paper and slam it on each other to try to turn the opponent's over?
Only the score tallying rules vary slightly.
LOL - maybe in a future series!
My father is really into 바둑 but I am not good at playing this game. Someday I want to learn it and play it with him. :)
Wei Qi is said to have very simple rules, but due to the endless variations of outcome in mid and end game it requires more skill to master than Chess.
Could you for future video talk about gaming in Korea? What PC Bang is and how professional gaming is compare to US or other countries.
Civilization V. It not only holds almost limitless paths and variants for victory, but my love of history and culture actually can be used to improve my chances for succuss; even if such knowledge is by no means required^^
Interesting game! I suck at most games!
Yeah you should! I'm American, but I'm going to study 바둑 at 명지대 next year.^^
I've seen people play this game by hitting the round piece with their finger and trying to knock down the opponents round pieces off the board. What's that called?
I love this video we should use this to try and spread Go more in the United states I am going to share this on Tigermouth XD also I am a go player and have been playing for a while.
and i suggest you to introduce 땅따먹기. Koreans in ur age know what it is. only needed to play it is a play ground and a small piece of stone. That game reminds me as my childhood :)
There are no algorthm or program that can beat human race even chese player beaten by computer. It is the hardest abstract strategy game in the world.
Hi from 2016.
His post is 4 years old.
My favourite strategy game is backgammon.
Pogs?
Maybe in one of the Chinese/Japanese markets? This was a cheap $10 magnetic game.
That's true, although there are actually more substantial differences in very rare situations. They haven't been able to resolve those issues to create an international standard ruleset yet. Also, I think you meant 40 million players, not professionals. Those associations are all 100% amateur, except for Korea, Japan, China, and Taiwan. Also, the US is selecting two professionals per year now, so you could say there are 6 professional associations. (Two of them are in Japan).
There are differences in scoring, but that's it.
It's called 알까기(Alkkagi) which literally means "hatching eggs" or "breaking eggs."
Link to How To play No longer works.
Way klaro oi
Are the rules the same for the Korean version as they are for the Japanese and Chinese versions?
Search Yellow Mountain Imports. They've got what you're looking for.
Because of reply 1988
Baduk is probably born in Korea.
It's not a Korean game though.
+Zilong Lee (EvilPlanet) No, but Korea people plays it also.
Who are the top tennis players in the world? (Tennis didn't come from their country.) Which country has the most people in the top 100 weichi players today?
China has the most players (56) in the world top 100. www.goratings.org/ Last updated: 03/23/2017
