Polished my exact 2/tone Lightening OTF, added a little WD Silicone spray (use it on your car window rubber for smooth & quiet up & down also) as shown & this thing is quiet & super smooth! I saltwater fish South of Houston TX and no troubles. I do take it apart every so often & repeat. This video shows just how easy it is to make a $30 knife perform like a $400 knife.

I don't do many non-talkies. This thing is soooooo hard to beat. Next to me is my Wicked Edge gen 3 pro, and 25 diamond stones, and strops. I don't worry about the type of steel!!!!!

I agree with the takeing apart being easy but ive never been able to get it all back together i took a couple apart to fix when they stoped working but then i guess i lost the tiny lil springs inside are they tiny like that in all otf auto knifes or is it just in all double action otf autos??
99 %.....THERES NEVER ANY REASON TO TAKE THOSE SPRINGS OUT, at least for my knives (clean) NEVER NEED IT.

B-U-Y SILICON SPRAY THAT DRIES......THE OPPOSITE OF W-E-T.
I like powdered graphite. Yery little bit.
Grease, oil or any wet lubricant STAYS wet….and will capture lint, dust, dirt or anything else that makes its way into your knife which will gum up and clog the action over time. It *may* be slick and smooth at first….but it WILL clog up over time. Use dry lube and this won’t happen
Did everything in this video, used the right kind of lube. Now my knife is squeaky and less smooth than before.... Idk what went wrong..
Would acetone work for cleaning? Its basically the same thing.

Might soften and/or remove the paint. These things aren't painted with high dollar/high tech coatings, just dollar store rattle can enamels 😀
@@Hjerte_Verke I usually use just alchohol on a swab. B-U-T, let me tell ya. After polishing up internals these Lightning Elites are sooooooo smooth. (SEE COMMENT BELOW BY: @Mike_Hog_A_Nator) Have two Taiwan made lightnings coming today and plan on doing the same thing to them both. PLUS sharpening and putting mirror edges on the up to at least 3 micron. HAIR whittling sharp. Then may offer them for sale, via my channel & community post page. For my viewers. *****I'm a professional Angler/ and tackle junkie from way back, and we do the same polishing up of fishing reel components, for smoother action.
I wish someone made a titanium thin shell replacement handle setup.. cause it’s weak point is the super low end cast aluminum handles.

why does everyone want a $35 knife to cost $350??? And if you break the cast alloy handle for whatever reason you need to go buy a hatchet or axe instead. DAMN it's only a cheap OTF!!!!!!
@@CaptDavesSportfishing my thought was a thin Ti case would only cost about $30 extra.. making it a $60 OTF. Check on Manikala and brands like that.. plenty are able to release solid knives with titanium for under $50

@@CaptDavesSportfishingya I agree they definitely are not ment to be the shite out of them especially for a 35$ knife although in my opinion wether it's a 35$ knife or a 500000$ knife it shouldn't be beaten the shit out of hell the more you pay you definitely shouldn't do it then cus that's waisting money to and alot more money at at that you no what I mean ?? Also handle melting ?? Did he do that in the video ? I haven't gotten the chance to really watch it all the way threw just yet so I can't imagine what handel melting is all about but I agree with you non the less

I've tried all that nothing works in CZcams land you got to try to find something that works.
I like that I have the option to turn off the sound and still be able to follow along without having to read distracting captions.
This also makes the video universally understandable regardless of the language you speak (except the title).
