The addition of the "carbon-core" tech will had increased significantly the price of the GM-2100s at this time. The steel case is reasonable enough resistant to impact as the resin ones and the shock absorbing tech is inside the watch anyway. Surely Casio/G-Shock will come with a combination of those (metal and carbon) later, slowly trickling down the combined technologies on more affordable watches, for example the GSTB's and MTG's are all, carbon and metal at a higer price of course. The GM-2100's for $220.00 are a miracle of marketing and technological genius form Casio/G-Shock, with beautiful polished steel case and a premium band at that price, is an outstanding feat. @1:23
