- From Remy’s ratatouille, to Riley’s least favorite broccoli pizza from Inside Out, I challenged myself to only make and eat some of Pixar’s most iconic foods for 24 hours. A tribute to the amount of attention and detail Pixar puts into their films, and also, just personally, from one Pixar fan to another, what better way is there to celebrate some of the world’s best animated films and shorts?

Ratatouille the movie made me realise how much I appreciated the art of cooking and it's my all-time favourite animated movie. Inga did SUCH an amazing job of recreating it - and I feel like I might try to make it at home now!

French girl here, actually the "ratatouille" you see in Ratatouille is called a "Tian" or "Tian à la provençale". It's the same ingrediants but plating and cooked in a different way! :)

Fentons is actually a historic Ice Cream shop in Oakland, not San Francisco. It opened in 1894. They did open another location in Vacaville in 2007. Not trying to be rude or anything because Inga probably didn't know it's in Oakland, I just wanted to mention it because it is such an iconic spot for both locals and tourists. The Fentons shop in the movie is even modeled after the original shop on Piedmont Ave. If you ever find yourself in the Bay, I HIGHLY recommend coming to Oakland and visiting. The ice cream is truly amazing (just be prepared for a very long line 😂).

Every time Inga makes something she ate growing up it's infused with so much love and nostalgia, watching someone make bao and talk about her experiences with her family is so sweet!!

I'm not really sure about other Asian countries but the cuisine of the Indian subcontinent is very different from the rest of asia

French girl here, I love your ratatouille, it seems delicious and your prononciation is on point! Also about the having a dessert just after diner, don't worry, it is normal to feel like sweet after a french dish, we almost always have one. For the memories, french kids don't like ratatouille, because as most child, they don't like veggies too, I remember going to the theater to see a film about a rat with the name of my most hatred school lunch on the trailer (it wasn't a very good start 😂) and falling in love with Pixar through the movie, and having water in my mouth when they served the ratatouille. I still disliked eating ratatouille until growing up, and it is now a dish i enjoy. So don't worry, most child memories around the dish isn't a "Madeleine de Proust"^^
French children hating Ratatouille is so funny to me. I can relate as an Indian because when people say "How did you not like this dish? It's so delicious". I'm like there's veggies in there! I was a child!

I’d assume financial stability... extremely valuable especially during a pandemic and I think a few other Buzzfeed employees who’ve quit have mentioned it in their why I quit videos.

I know rightttt at first seeing the about page I thought they were independent but then I saw the description and was kinda disappointed but I hope they’re still doing ok with the management that I’ve heard many issues about. I’m glad multiple of them have their own personal channels that are doing well though.

I've been making it from time to time as it is very easy to make (the traditional one). Tastes absolutely delicious.
Ratatouille was how I found out I'm allergic to nightshades (having so many and so much in one dish sent me to the emergency room)

When I taught Core French, I needed to keep the kids interested, so we did movie studies, and lots of cooking. When we did Ratatouille, we made both the confit & a traditional ratatouille, then the kids had to write which one they preferred and why. They all liked the confit better, mainly because they said it was more fun to make! (Side note: I was amazed that they loved frog's legs for another unit!)
Inga just created one of the most beautiful pizzas I've ever seen.
Suggestion: to make the veg sizes more similar, using Japanese/Asian eggplants (which are longer & thinner) could help!
Same in Indian families when our parents call us they usually ask "have you eaten? "/" Are you eating well? "/" Is your stomach full? " 😂 just like you explained was in the Chinese culture 😇

Using metal utensils on non stick metal pans gave me a heart attack

@@yejiaaa9255 if you use metal utensils on non-stick Teflon pans or pots, it scratches up the Teflon (the black coating that makes it non-stick) and you may get some flakes in your food while cooking. The thing is, Teflon is extremely very super toxic when ingested, so it's not really a good idea to use anything but wooden or heat-safe silicon/plastic utensils on metal pans (especially non-stick) unless you're super sure they don't have any Teflon

I loved your video! My mother and I like to make the "fancy" version of Ratatouille and we learned that Japanese eggplant are about the same size cuts as the squash and zucchini so we've been using those instead.
Just to add on to the 24 hour eating different foods from different cultures, it would be great to both make dishes and highlight a great cookbook author and maybe one local business for dinner or something.

These are my comfort videos. The more I watch the more relaxed I get. I keep watching shorts and one thing leads to the next and then the next thing I know is that I'm tired and unsatisfied. Literally one video of yours Inga and I feel so good. Especially when I watched it while eating a warm plate of mandhi (a middle eastern dish). Also is there a way to completely get rid of shorts?

OMG Inga, I have watched all of your 24-hour videos and I think this video has to be my favorite. Your broccoli pizza and ratatouille, I would actually eat and I have to tell you, I don't like either! Also with the ratatouille, I would pay a lot of money for that in a fine dining restaurant. Oh and the bao you made, made my mouth water. Also for dessert, I am really surprised you didn't make Jack-Jack's Cookie Num Num's from The Incredible's. But I love the movie UP. Literally one of my best memories from life is when I was really young and my great grandmother would give me heath toffee icecream as a treat, she passed away when I was 7, but to this day that's my favorite icecream and chocolate bar, and also one of my most treasured memories, thank you so much for sharing, it honestly meant so much to me ❤❤
