Thank you for all the help on bringing these old Nambu pistols back to life. Thanks to you and the good folks at Steinel, my 1930 Nambu runs as well as any other pistol in my WWII collection.
Thanks for the great video. I was able to clean my grandfather’s Nambu on what would have been his 95th birthday. I do not believe this gun has been cleaned since it was taken off of the beaches of Iwo Jima. I was surprised at how clean it was on the inside for such an old gun. Thanks again!
I have one my father brought back from the occupation after the war. I've never disassembled it. I can't even imagine anyone attempting that in the field.
Thank you for a clear video. Just took apart a WWII era Nambu. Will regular gun oil work or do you recommend the grease-type lube? I had to heat the whole gun with a hair dryer to get the ancient grease flowing so the parts would even move. The gun had sat for 75 years.
Hi can you help me please, I am making a replica of this and just need a dimension. Could you measure and post the length of the frame please. The flat side of the frame where the safety is. Thanks for the video mate, cheers.
So I have a nambu that’s been sitting in a box for 80 years, I was told it wasn’t working but it racked and you could hear the firing pin, but sometimes it would lock just by racking it backwards. Do you think it could just need a clean or would I need to see a gunsmith?
I’m having an issue with my nambu 14 I just bought. I haven’t had a chance to really look at it but the magazine is super tight and doesn’t just drop out of the gun you have to physically grab it and pull up get the mag out and also when the gun is on fire and you go to pull the magazine out the whole trigger guard and trigger assembly slide. Have no idea what’s going on with it but haven’t had a chance to look. Any idea?
Mmmm it’s not a horrible thing if the magazine is a little tight on Type 14s since a common issue is having them fall out during firing(the reason for the extra spring being added on later models on the front of the grip) but it shouldn’t be that tight....also with the trigger assembly wanting to drop when you remove the magazine makes me wonder if it’s catching on the magazine safety mechanism? I’ll look at mine and see if I can find a more definitive theory👍

Very nice!
Thank you!!!! Very helpful video. I have one of those, I bought it from a friend many years ago.
Finally...a Nambu field stripping from someone that knows what they are doing.
Very informative, thanks for the info!
Me gusta, esa pistola por su simpleza !! Saludos de Argentina.

Question is the ejector a part of the barrel/extension or is it seperate
What size bore brush do you use to clean this

Both would work I’m sure but mine liked a grease based lube👍
High there what size firing pin is it? Im trying to restore my grandfathers for him for his 70th bday but iv seen they have short and long firing pins

I would see if you can take it apart and really give it a good scrub down and oiling and see if that remedies that problem first for sure
Its your magazine blocking it after pulling it back all the way. That's how its supposed to function.

Forest Firearms I think it’s getting caught yes because upon open bolt and pressing on mag release the trigger assembly slides off or wants to
