      Why are you a muslim if you need rabbis to teach you? Why don't you simple leave Islam? I left 12 years ago after being a Muslims for 8 years. (I did never regret it.) Muhammed hated jews. (That's why I left Islam, you can't love jews if you follow the words of someone who ordered you to kill Jews, and you know what I 'm talking about because YOU ARE A MUSLIM, as I WAS ONE.

      It is not natural... Meaning not how God created us to function... For a man and a woman to not be able to be in a casual situation together without a thought of sex occuring from one or both.
      Every day is NOT "mating day" for humans, therefore our minds should not be dwelling there every day.
      When I was first introduced to this "rule" in Christianity it actually stirred up fear in me...
      Because I come from a background of sexual abuse, and so the message that gave me is there is nowhere safe for a woman to be. Not even amongst church people. 😳
      If there is a man around, there must be others around because men cannot control themselves around women whether they are married or not...
      Do you see how UNnatural that is when you look around at the rest of the world?
      We love to compare ourselves to each other... So why not compare ourselves to something worthwhile?
      Like Nature and how God created IT to function, and how it DOES function, quite naturally.
      Do you know what the difference is between us and the other species in nature?
      We are the only species that is BOMBARDED DAILY from a young age with images, music, and any other way of presenting sex.
      Sex, sex, sex...
      Everywhere you go. Billboards, the radio station, the commercials on TV, young women walking around in a tank top and booty shorts.
      Why do men think of sex all the time, which makes them appear like sexual predators because it triggers the hormones that cause sexual desire? (Currently labeled as temptation)
      Because they are MADE to think of sex all the time.
      Resist the temptation?
      That is utter BS.
      It's not a "temptation"...
      It is a manipulation. The result of eating the fruit we are all being fed through media and their propaganda.
      Men CAN control themselves quite easily when in their NATURAL environment.
      Society today is a FAR cry from that.

    Covering hair is one mitzvah but being modest is another. When a woman covers with a wig that is eye catchy (long, full and highlighted which resembles a natural look and even better than natural hair many times) Yes , she’s covering her hair but no she is not being modest. Mind you when they’re home they walk around in snoods And save the fancy wigs for the outside world. Saving sexual energy for your spouse is not just about covering up. but also HOW you behave and HOW you cover up. Just as wearing a skin tight dress which covers all the parts of the body according to all the halachic guidelines but still reveals every curve, line of undergarments and more strips away the whole purpose of the mitzvah of modesty. The way we dress impacts the way we act. When we’re in sexy clothing and/or gorgeous wigs it becomes very difficult to curb the sexual energy that peaks out in the behavior that automatically comes out Bec of the way we’re “covered up”

    Rabbi, I really wish you could do a discussion on the importance of ethically sourcing human hair for the wigs that are worn. Hair from India frequently comes from women who have their heads shaven (tonsuring) in Hindu temples as an offering, where it is then sold to hair brokers. In China, it has been documented that Uyghur Muslim women have had their hair removed against their will, with the hair being sold to make wigs that may be adulterated with plastic or horsehair. Women in Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos, Brazil, and Peru are often paid very little for their hair, an exploitive practice. It is a largely unregulated, billion dollar industry. Hair can be sourced from the floor of a hair salon, a brush, or even a cadaver.

      There is no ethical way, and it is 100% wrong to wear wigs it is idolatry based on exactly what you said.
      I don't know why this guy says it's ok when the lubavitcher Rebbe himself was firmly against wigs. He only gave a heter for wigs under very strict conditions- none of which meet today's standards. And for some reason chabad took that small window and ran with it, and Hashem yerachem they all mostly wear wigs today. It is not ok and very few people are speaking out about it.
      Like you said it's a billion dollar industry. Check out if you like, the channel Spiritual Visuals, he has a documentary on the wig industry, and it is extremely eye opening to say the least. Please research the halachic guidelines for wig wearing. Rav Moshe has strict guidelines as well. Rav Elyashiv Rav Ovadiah Yosef, great gedolim all spoke out and warned against wigs. The lace fronts of modern day wigs, long blonde, even long dark, doesn't matter they are ALL 100% forbidden. These so called rabbis running around saying wigs are great are מחטיא הרבים.

I do believe in the energy of our hair and the power it has, as several other ancient religion and sages already said around the world. I'm 66. My hair is gray. After my radical full hysterectomy much of my hair fell out. It never grew back. I'd like to cover my head with a $2,000 human hair gorgeous wig, but I'd feel ridiculous. I'd be vain. Unnatural. All beauty fades with age. No worries. A pure heart is more pleasing to God than a covered head. All things are passing away. If you know you can just cover your hair, you may be hiding dirt and sweat. Plus, the number place the human body gets rid of over heating is through the head. Did God cover Eve's head with animal skins when He made clothing for them? If you live in Alaska than cover your head with animal skin & fur. Ok. ❤

    I disagree with him saying if women continue wearing scarves/hats they will eventually take it off. Not true. Sefardic Jews have been wearing scarves and still do till this day. If not for the wig movement many sefardim would continue to wear scarves. There are many women who thought wigs were the only
    Kosher option and never started covering their hair Bec it was against their logic to cover hair with hair or Bec it’s expensive till they learnt a scarf is a perfectly kosher way to cover and they started covering their hair. It can go both ways.

    • @mendel5106
      @mendel5106 Před 3 měsíci +1

      The real problem with hats and scarves is that it leaves part of the hair uncovered, so even at the beginning of the day when she looks at herself in the mirror for 40 minutes before leaving the house that everything is covered, sure enough an hour or 2 later hair tends to stick out of the hat and the scarf/kerchief starts to slide back and at times when I walk around my neighborhood in Brooklyn I wonder why bother wearing a head covering that really reveals much of the hair... Hasidic hats and bands are mehudar in my opinion because even though I am lubavitch and prefer a wig like the Rebbe recommends. (Those hold on tight throughout the day even while running errands and scooting down to take care of young children etc. I'm sorry but the sefardic community as much as I respect them, still have room to improve in this area.

      He is 100% wrong it is scary that he has so many people following him. He's telling them what they want to hear.
      Wigs are 100% forbidden he is מחטיא הרבים by making these statements
      It is so so so bad to wear wigs the lubavitcher Rebbe never gave a heter for the wigs that are worn today. Rav Moshe, rav Elyashiv, nobody, it is disgusting what so called rabbis will do for money.
      IF you're going to wear a wig it has to be fake hair (real hair is idolatry) and it has to be short above the shoulders, and according to rav Moshe everyone has to know that you're wearing a wig.
      The lubavitcher Rebbe only ok'd SHORT wigs for a specific reason, he absolutely would never ever give a heter for today's wigs especially the lace fronts where single men can and do hit on married women because they can't even tell the difference.
      It's not ok.
      Women need to cover up in scarves and men need to look away. The sin of spilling seed goes on both man and woman, not just the man.

      @@mendel5106 I hear you and you’re right. That is where a woman needs to be careful and keep checking throughout the day that her scarf is covering her hair properly. Just as your shirt might rise throughout the day and expose your elbows. Or a skirt roses up you need to pull it down and fix it after doing certain activities. Doesn’t mean you should start wearing pants cu skirts flow around too easily. Just gotta be more careful. Also halachacly it is mutter for a certain amount of hair to be exposed. I have heard that some women who have worn wigs for years complain that it has caused patches of baldness and that the tightness of the wig is uncomfortable and can cause head pain. I can't imagine that keeping the scalp away from air and sun exposure is necessarily healthy. I wonder if there was more influence of female energy in patriarchal decision-making, if the rules would evolve. Women decide to go along with religious "laws", including circumcision, which is also unnatural and so these traditions continue. Also, I don't appreciate the inference that covering grey hair is virtuous and I don't consider calling anyone "ugly", holy either.

      No it can't. I've never heard such nonsense in my life. Rivka wore a veil when she met yitzchak for the first time. She was single and covered head to toe. So was Rachel Imenu. For women it's about modesty, we are daughters of the King; for men it's shmirat eynayim. The sin of spilling seed is extremely bad and it goes on the woman too if she's the one who caused it to happen. It's irrelevant if one is single or married.
      And it is 100% forbidden to wear wigs- especially the kind that are made today. It is idolatry and immodest.
      The only heterim you'll find would be from rav Moshe or similar from the lubavitcher Rebbe, is that it has to be fake hair (which nowadays they mix everything so it's impossible to know for sure), and it has to be short meaning above shoulder length, and everybody has to know that it is a wig.
      Lace fronts are 100% forbidden.
      No judgment here, I just wish people would stop spewing nonsense on the internet and calling it Judaism.

    He isn't saying that that is the one and only reason your libido is low... he is just saying these can be the consequences of not covering their hair, and women are asking him these questions he is just answering....
    My man is a Jehovah Witness, this isn't practiced but speaking to him and other men who don't even have and idea about head coverings always mentions how a woman's hair is her beauty. When it's well styled it make them more attractive. It speaks a lot about a woman.
    Its a very interesting topic. But just keep in mind this is a point of view not a fact. If u disagree fine if u agree good. No need to talk bad about him.

    Thank you. Your subject is beyond interesting. It is so greatly appreciated that it makes me love u to the moon. I’m divorced. My third husband’s mother was Jewish. Today, Tuesday, May 29th, 2024 is a scorching 94 degrees in South Florida. If I had to cover my head with a wig I would probably faint. My scalp needs to breath. When I run errands I wear shorts cuz my legs need a breather as well. If I had to visit a Jewish Synagogue I do know how to dress appropriately (100% cotton of course from Old Navy store). My elbows n toes would be covered n hem length would be long. If any male thinks that I’m being provocative when I wear shorts, that’s his problem not mine. My conscience is clean n pure. As for the release or escaping of my sexual energy into the air would actually be nice for a change. Never had a problem in that department. Always been…ready Freddy. Had a lid on it since 2005. G-d is so wonderful n I’m so grateful for the willpower He has blessed me with. We have not bcuz we ask not. If we all ask G-d for holy things in prayer, to do good, He will help us serve Him.❤✡️👌🤟

    Rabbi Friedman, Eve saw what Adam missed, and yes I am using the English names. Here is a thought….the reason for the wigs, the not being alone, even your replacement of sexual in your word choice energy with intimacy all skirt a fundamental truth: overall men are physically larger than women and covering, not being alone keeps women safer overall. When you go into the energy discussion and get binary based upon anatomy sounds good but still goes to men defining life based on their understanding without women participation at an equal level and I know how fundamental the difference between the man and the woman is in your teaching. It is time to revisit this because intellectually even based on your own analysis of Eve in the Garden the woman saw what the man did not in the instruction from G*d. Laws are created by people and can be changed by people.

    Why do some Rabbis say that wigs made of human hair and that is long is not tznios? Are there length requirements for a sheitel?

    • @healthymom8112
      @healthymom8112 Před 3 měsíci

      2 reasons 1 being idolatry most human hair regardless of where the label says it comes from, is used in ritual practices as an offering to their gods and therefore forbidden.
      2 is they are completely 100% immodest to the point where single men don't know they're talking to a married woman.
      The only heterim you'll find for wigs are (lubavitcher Rebbe, rav Moshe feinstein) if they are fake hair and short meaning above the shoulders. Rav Moshe also adds that everyone must know that she is wearing a wig. Meaning today's wigs are COMPLETELY forbidden. Lubavitcher Rebbe, rav Moshe, Rav Elyashiv, Rav Ovadiah, the list is long on how many gedolim Ashkenaz and sefardi it doesn't matter they all say wigs are assur. It's a billion dollar industry, money talks.

    • @healthymom8112
      @healthymom8112 Před 3 měsíci

      Yes - short and fake hair only, and everyone must be able to tell that it is a wig. According to rav Moshe.
      Most halachic authorities forbid them altogether since they mix fake and real hair together and it is considered avodah zara since the women shaving their heads do it for their gods. It's a very big problem
