You’re not the only one! Mine is pretty loud too, but still works so well that it’s a shame about the noise. He’s released a newer version already, but I haven’t heard any reviews yet and I haven’t bought one. I’d be curious too. Still using this one every day though, despite the noise, as I still think it’s the best I’ve used so far.
You have to oil the trimmer regularly in between the blade on top of the blade to make it quiet. Cause remember is metal rubbing on metal try it see the difference..
@@KalTheBarber yeah I don’t think the process would be any different whatever kind of material you’re painting. However I think the original color that’s on the TPOB X trimmer was powder coated I could be wrong though.
Starting to wonder if the greens are better than the black ones. I got the black set from Amazon and I am leas than impressed out of the box. Hoping a 0 gap tool is created soon and then I will try again, or run them a few more times and hope they hit better.
If you’re using it the way it comes in the box that’s the problem. Every trimmer should be adjusted pretty much as soon as you get it. Companies can’t send totally zero gapped tools because it’s a liability issue. I’ve got both the black and green and they both work perfectly after being adjusted. Pretty sure the X is the cheapest one, and it comes with the psycho blade. There’s probably cheaper ones on AliExpress with this body style, but the X has a more powerful motor so I don’t think they compare. Thanks for watching! 💈
@@FutureBarber I actually checked both kemei 2299 trimmer for 12 dollars and checked out this clipper motors and it’s actually the same. I was curious to see if all the trimmers were similar. Identical in and out. So it’s just tpob has a lovey color but ultimately it’s the same trimmer and blades are interchangeable. The psycho blade can be used. So I purchased the Kemei 2299 and I will say it is a SUPER sick trimmer for the price. The blade is not bad, the noise is very low (at least out of the box) and the power is decent. I’ve tested them both and the X is definitely more powerful. I would recommend getting the Kemei 2299 absolutely. It’s a great budget option for sure. Can’t beat that price.

For a trimmer? Definitely these. JRL’s trimmer is really good for kids and elderly clients because it’s quiet but it doesn’t do nice crispy lines like this one. 💈

if you don"t like the hook ring on the X trimmer you could use a dremel or a hack saw to cut it of.
