Got a large on Friday and hit a familiar run. Took me a minute to adjust, but another paddle today confirms I'm "unlocking" the code. Digging it. Been in a Phantom for years now as my creeker. Code feels like a more nimble, slightly more aggressive edged and bigger boofing machine than the Phantom. I will say the Phantom locks into a line like a champ and always felt nimble until I got in the Code. I can already tell that I'm really going to like this boat and the Phantom may get some cobwebs on it.......

My Mamba has served me well over the years but the Code looks interesting especially the high Bow rocker. I think Dagger's new color offerings really SUCK! The folks at Dagger must have never had an Art class. I'd like to see Dagger bring back solid colors like Orange or Lime or yellow or mix colors that compliment each other! I agree that Dagger outfitting is some of the best in the industry. I'd probably buy a Code if it came in a Lime color!! I want to be seen on the river!

Agreed on the colors. At least there’s a solid red one now. Even though that’s not my favorite color, it’s the only one I’d get since I have a strong preference for solid color boats. Literally any of those colors on the cosmos would look nice as a solid color boat. But yeah, lime and orange would be ideal for me.

I dont understand why Dagger made it so extremly wide. The M Code is 69cm wide the S still 66 cm wide that is more then the small Alpha with 65cm. For small people this is bad. It is more difficult to get in rolling positon and to roll and you also have a wider paddling style otherwise you would hit the edge. And the additional first stability will not help you much i white water. Zet Five for smaller people is 65cm and the Cross for bigger people is 67cm but 69cm that make sense for me. 69 cm is for XL boat not for M boats. Waka had the same problem but with the Billy goat they got smaller.

    • @WadeHarrison

I am from Czech Republic and the rivers here have decent flow only in spring, so most of my kayaking is on the artificial WW channels with occasional trip to the Alps. Looking for something that would be forgiving and not so hard to roll, but in the same time i like a boat that surfs well and have some edges to carve in and out of eddies so i can have some fun on the artificial ww. 6"4' and around 185 lbs.
