    I think they should put the hand-checking back in. I can understand not being able to put two hands on a person you're guarding but it seems like there's almost no defensive effort in the games now. Players get to the basket far too easily now. There are still SOME defenders that can still lock a person down without touching them though.

    • @AndrewBryanSapigaotarsonis
      @AndrewBryanSapigaotarsonis Před 3 lety

      modified arm check at least and of course should only be done against the back of the offensive player. The reason behind removing the hand check is you can push the offensive player because you have a joint (elbow) to push him with.

      @kalon511 Před 3 lety +1

      @@AndrewBryanSapigaotarsonis
      In my opinion, that wouldn’t be a good enough reason to remove it. Pushing a person while guarding them is a foul. That can’t be seen as “ hand-checking”. Why? Because it’s comparable to when a person sets a screen for their offensive player and rather than just standing there and setting a “LEGAL” pick, they either lean into it or attempt to push the defender further out/away by moving into them. There are/were ways of hand-checking someone without actually fouling them.

Nobody plays defense anymore because u can't touch em...u give guys now free reign and they can do whatever they want...at least give the defensive player some leeway in defending

    The one thing that needs to be banned (and has completely ruined the game for me) is the whole moving screens thing. Guys are essentially running all over the court and setting a pick, then as soon as the switch is about to happen they start running directly into the defender under the guise of natural movement (as if they set the pick and then are simply running to another spot on the court that just so happen to be directly into the defender, how coincidental). The Warriors basically did this every possession for years with Green and Bogut being some of the biggest culprits. It essentially makes it impossible to guard someone effectively on the perimeter and at the very least is an extreme bending of the rules. It's a moving screen and that's how it jumps out at me on the screen, making it really tough to be able to watch a game when it's happening all the time with certain teams.

NBA is Whistles Everytime someone goes to the hoop, bitching about the lack of a call every single take whether they make the bucket or not. Games come down to free throws all the fucking time, no defense, Fucking lame. 80s 90s NBA used to be legit, but those days are long gone. You can't even touch the player when you're on defense! lol
      I imagine a problem is I'd bet many basketball refs probably never played the game at a high level, and have too much control. Hockey refs need to have the skating skill to be on the ice, aka ex players. They know the game cause they played it at a high level, and so the game stays intact, because they've been there. You can fight, Tell the refs to fuck off. Etc. And they give it right back. Let those emotions loose and play your heart out. None of this flopping soccer player crap or technical fouls for looking at the ref the wrong way.
