- Björk's full set from the National Theatre, Reykjavík, on 6 January 1999. If you like this, support Björk by seeing her live, buying her official live and studio recordings, and visiting bjork.com. This is for nonprofit, educational purposes only. I don't own the copyright.
This was originally shown on Icelandic television. All tracks from this set are already on CZcams, but I thought it would be a treat to have the entire set as a single video.
Thanks to BjörkFTP for the recording, which is also available on dimeadozen.org as 'No Place Like Home'.

In musical terms, listening to Björk has been the BEST DISCOVERY I ever did inmy short life...
+Anastasia XII this is because you have a soul ..... and you care for it
Pouderbern f.u. I discovered a whole new world and things I would have never thought they existed. Björk is love, Björk is life :D
Anastasia XII the interview where she said her earliest singing was on the long walk to school ... singing to the mountains ..... that was awesome :) :) she truly is love incarnate :)
+Anastasia XII that's exactly how I fell
Lo mismo por acá
Fun story... she gave a show at the Metropolis in Montreal in the late 90's. I was with my uncle outside at the backstage listening to the show as best we could, whenever the door would open we'd get a glimpse of her! At the end she came out and walked to her hotel with some of her people, we walked with her and got her autograph and spent a good 20 minutes talking with her! She's easily the nicest most awesome person of our time.
çÈrj Charlebois unless you are a reporter from Thailand asking her a question as she steps off a bus, then watch out for the Bjork beat- down!
What did you talk about?

LEAVE OUR BJORK ALONE U BOTHERSOME BUGS
She dances like a child. "this is how the music makes me move" kinda thing. So cool. No inhibitions. Just dancing. No glitz, no choreographers, just...Bjork.
So pure!
No, I don't think she's acting like a child. It is part of the choreography. It is the universal behavior. You only interpret it as if it were the behaviour of a child. Björk does nothing without thinking. It's just a great performance!
@@avallach2061 Possibly Maybe
Probably because she is an eternal child, her magic.
@@thomasklingberg2802 Hope she got the bunions fixed, though.
I love those little dances she does during her performances :')
Yes. She looks like a little marionette. Love it.
😋
Holaa
How can she be so childish and mature at the same time? She always reminds me about our natural, instinctive inclinations.
tkachiha188 yeah, I saw this after posting mine....I am in agreement. It's like watching a little kid just do exactly what is natural. It's so wonderful.
You can't be really mature without letting your inner child thrive... Björk is both, that's why she is acting freely...
Shut up Lilith
michael jackson
she's faking it for useful fools like yourself
Definition of the word "tragedy";
To be born in this life, and die, without ever having to have experienced life with Bjork.
So obsesed?
Venus as a boy is such a precious song and her vocals do it such justice.
My favorite thing about watching her perform live is that she seems completely unfettered in her personality...like she knows most people will either not get it or think it's really strange and doesn't think anything of it. It's like looking at someone whose unabashed sense of expression is still 4 years old. "Look at me, isn't this cool?".....and we've all been conditioned *not* to just say "fuck yeah, it is! and I wanna dance too!"....and I get a bit of that back with her. Gift from the gods, I swear.
She is a force of nature. She is a human jewel of the most valuable sort
I gey what you mean. I think it's because she feels her song as truly hers. Like they're part of her
Bjork's work changed musical concept worldwide from the second half of 90s till today.
that intro before the strings is really the only way to enter Bjork's wonderland !
I have never seen so synchronised audience. Bjork seems to have everything- even her fans are good msucians.
I just love the perfect sync clapping of Reykjavík's people
This woman is so great!!! Incomparable, amazing, beautiful, full of wonders, she is unique, pure, real...
Medea Sharikadze you have a very nice face
Rivai K. Calm yourself
That's the most amazing applause session I've ever seen. No wonder why Iceland is the happiest country in the world.
10 whole minutes!
Came to the comments to write this myself
Damn. Jóga brings tears to my eyes every time.
You should be worried if and when it no longer has that effect on you!
So talented, and so beautiful. Wow.
People who dislike Bjork are scientifically mindless, and musically ignorant. She is one of the greatest personalities in music, but no one can express the power of feelings in the way she does.
Words words words
No-one is ever gonna get close to her!!!
She is MUSIC pure
I love Björk but I have to disagree completely. You know, there's something called having an opinion. You literally are just saying that people with different opinions are less intelligent than you.
I tend to disagree.
I've been a musician for 15+ years and I always overlooked Bjork's music, not because I was musically ignorant (quite the contrary), but because I was simply not in that place. Only know, in 2019, I finally was able to really feel her message.
Enjoying Bjork has a lot more to do with your spirit than it has to do with your intelligence or musical prowess.
John Ross fucking hell man. That’s just a symptom of your bad attitude and judgmental brain. I’m betting you never stop to understand anyone else, cos you’re always right? Fuck that! Have a cup of tea man. And/or a creme de menthe.
THIS IS FUCKING AWESOME
CZcams, the only place in world where you just trip over something as cool as a bjork concert from 1999. Got to love youtube
Absolutely incredible, think she is my favorite person ever.
Do hoy ever meet her?,
Just discovered Bjork. My brain is having a hard time getting used to the fact that she's much older than I thought
***** will do, thanks!
Age dosen't exist with Bjork man

The most amazing show I've seen. Everytime I watch it changes me.
LOL
Pluto is freaking insane. I've been listening to her song since I was 3 - even though I'm from Argentina. She is still my favorite artist of all times.
I love her too. I listen to her little late. I start listen her 2001 i guess when vesperine came out. Before i didnt knew her
hola !
How I wish I could be there!
I'm here still in 2020!
Same, always love it!

I just love her!

Shivers down my spine in every music
I'm glad I'm not the only one that can't listen to her without tears every time.
Best, most respectful audience, ever.
She is so strange and a genius; just love her. Greatest regret in life is not seeing her live. Hope she still tours. Thank the Goddess for CZcams.
I love the way she plays air drums at the end of Hunter, just lovely
I think she was also cuing everyone in to where the song would end, since it is abrupt.
Bold, creative, fascinating.
The music is gorgeous.
She is 'there' with the best of them.
If you don't like, or 'get' Bjork I would encourage you to persevere.
I can't find words for Björk. My breath comes to a standstill. Everything I could say about this marvelous artist seems insignificant and meaningless! So I listend and watch in humility and gratitude!

HER VOICE IS BEAUTIFUL TO ME
What a voice,what a girl,what a concert!
I can listen these songs all day long.
No wait.
All life long!!!
that lady on violin at the beginning of come to me was amazing!
The way she moves her arm to control her voice shows that she isn't just singing her ass off. She knows what she's doing. And that's beautiful.
54:29 I do this exact same gesture every time I listen to this bit of the song.
that was 10 minutes of applause, amazing audience, thank you
No one better:)
An over talented changeling child stole my heart on stage...
amazing show thanks for the upload
I own most of her studio works and live performances, but have not seen this before. I have seen the dress before on the DVD of her performance in Cambridge, same tour I'm thinking. Great to see the same set done in a different venue. It's as good as any she's done. Thanks for sharing this treasure with us. I always enjoy Bjork!
Wonderful experience, Thanks for sharing!!!
Thank you, i start to watch & hear this.
Best female voice in the history of recording.
Try Elizabeth Frazier. Cocteau Twins. Both beautiful voices that take you somewhere. Just mindblowing !!!!

Beth Gibbons was great with Portishead too.

Thank you so much for sharing this! I adore her like no other
Why CZcams present me this concert ? It s my birthday and what a present. I went to différents concerts of Bjork. I relly appreciate to discover this one in Reykjavik. What an artist. She is full of love that i cannot resist.what a pretty woman , incredible voice and so good mélodies. I will always love her.
I ve seen her last year for concert in Paris. She is still Bjork, so brillant. Thank u.
Pure and beautiful. Thank you.
true emotion
She is amazing at such a strange angle. She touches the spot that is a secret. I love her forever.
I love the early work from Bjork, like the songs on this live concert. But one incredible thing in this concert, was the time that people in the audience ask for the encore, more than 10 minutes, WOW. Great concert!!!
she is so lovely and beautiful and talented. There really is no one like Bjork.
Thank you Bjork. You have truly enriched my life. I appreciate you so much! 🙏
I love the crazyness and the beauty of the whole .... Thank you Björk
Love this……great production!!
thanks for posting this :) :) the live stuff is so heartfelt .... she is a true artist .... full of life, love and soul :) :)
I love it ! I've never really been exposed to this artists' work but except for maybe a still and a snip on the radio 25 years ago but always liked the bits . Sorry that I was missing this . Wonderful . Top notch production with magic . It'll stay with me distinctively . Thanks !
I love Björk so much, this concert gives me so much joy each time I see it!
She is truly awesome. She does her own thing and does it beautifully. I love her.
Superb! I love Bjork! I've been a fan since Debut. Last year I had the pleasure of seeing her perform in NY. Would love to see her again, she puts on an amazing show!
Beautiful video!
es impresionante la calidad de Björk como artista, simplemente es magnifica.
4 mins in, and I'm hooked!
Thanks for sharing.
I've been a huge Björk fan for as long as I can remember, have seen her live, and listened to a load of live recordings - these may just be the best versions of these songs I've ever heard.
I am from India and a huge Björk fan. "Dancer in the Dark - I've seen it all" was the first song that I heard in 2000. Back then we were still using the dial-up internet connection and it took about 20 hours to download this 40 MB video. There was no CZcams at that time, P2P sharing software, like lime-wire, were the only way to exchange files. That song got me hooked to her music. My friends found me weird, finding this concert video on CZcams feels like going back in time to those days.
Beautiful, graceful, woman/child
For a girl of eight years old she's got a marvelous voice, hasn't she ?! Great performance.
just so, listen all day and more. love to meet her.
Incredible concert.
So intimate and deep with her voice together with the chords hitting directly your soul and your mind.
Just flying over the clouds with Björk.
Cant stop listening her magical entrancing voice and wathing captivating smooth dance. This show is the best from all youtube recordings with her, clothnig, emotions and orchestra are perfect.
my favorite performance by her

Why is it that whenever I hear Bachelorette I think it could have been a brilliant James Bond theme song?
Because it would've!
It is soundwise but the lyrics absolutly don't fit for a bond song.
' play dead' would fit better 😉
she even recorded a version of You only live twice!
You knicked that from someone else.
She is so beautiful. Like a fairy on stage. Absolutely love the cadence she sings with.
Beautiful!!! I love it!!!
Absolute genius thank you love Dee , wish I could sing with you someday wishes do come true
Amazing...absolutely! I wonder how and why I never heard her before! Today I have been through all of it, the whole history of her work. I am thinking my next vacation should be in Iceland!
I start to discover her a month ago.
Only knew less then five songs before. I totally felt in love with her and her art.

Just delving into Bjork after all these years. What an astonishing talent and bright light in the world.
What a wonderful world.
so damn beautiful.
Bjork, you amaze me, only before you I'm humble.
and i am thrown into the cold blanket,
made of melodies and snowflakes
a sound, a release of a loud whisper
makes it to the stars
disappear into the hazy void.
she looks so healthy, happy and beautiful =]
It's impossible to even imagine a sweeter, smarter, more humanist human that Bjork. I think she IS the one.
You know her well?
@@MisAnnThorpe Through her lyrics, music, music videos, interviews and documentaries.
@@CaptainDooDoo-ans Well I know people who've encountered her who would certainly dispute the idea that she is sweet! I know of no other "pop star" as talented or unique as Bjork but I think it is probably rare for exceptionally creative types to be "nice" people. They tend to be so obsessed with their art that for want of a better word, it makes them very "selfish".
@@MisAnnThorpe I read: I don't have any talent and have never made anything of myself. I'm jealous and bitter, so I'll lump her in with all the rest under the sad little bias I hold for great people.
@@CaptainDooDoo-ans I'm not convinced you can read at all or if you can then you certainly appear to have difficulty following the gist of what people are saying. I've just told you that I consider her the MOST talented and unique of popular musicians. I've also told you that I know people who've met her (in a work capacity) and they've told me that she was less than polite to them. I could give you further detail but I can't be bothered and you don't deserve it. You need to grow out of your pathetic celebrity worship as you sound like exactly the kind of person that Bjork would feel uncomfortable to be around.
2019 and still love her ♡
This brings me peace.
Great show
She stirs happy thoughts and emotions. Beautiful
