This video explains how to install lift blocks under a tray, specifically an n70 model Hilux. I used a 50mm tray lift kit supplied by VMN which included all necessary blocks and fasteners.
Nice. I've got an old '05 2x4 hi-lift Courier crew cab (4.0l V6) with an 1800mm al. tray that I'm thinking of raising about 40-50mm so I can slide a 100 litre water tank up between the chassis rails. Still figuring out if it's worth doing it. It'll save some space on the tray if I do.
It’s pretty easy to raise the tray 50mm just with spacers, you’d probably just need to relocate your fuel filler slightly if it’s mount to the tray. All your wiring would likely have enough slack to not need extending.
Noob question. What is the point of this? Makes lifting stuff in the Ute higher from the ground. Reduced height of load you can carry. Bigger suspension makes the axels go down and doesn't require a higher tray right. Sorry for the newbie question.
Hey mate I used the spacer kit that came with the VMN body lift not wheel spacers. you can easily make your own out of 50mm box section also for almost nothing. Basically the benefit is off-road only it allows more tyre clearance without your wheels hitting the guards, I also did it because I put a body lift in the cab and wanted it to sit equal but yes, as you have figured out on road it’s almost all downsides to doing this, same goes for the body lift on the cab.
Just bought one for my lux 👍🏼
Thank you men.
Did you cut your cross support at the back to fit draw or tank?

Did you cut that cross member to get the water tank in?
It's just a tool box and the cross member of the tray yes I cut that and used the frame of tool box to brace it back up for strength.
What size tyres are you running?
Thecrazeeespaceman 285/75/16
What is your rim size and offset?
Kevin Glenn 16” 0 offset mate think 10” wide rim from memory
@@RyvalCreative got a link to this, do you mean spacer between the wheels so wider. I think you can get them on ebay right?
