The response from Logan's manager when you called him had me literally laughing out loud. "You need to verify your information." "Yeah, thats why I'm calling you." Like, holy fuck.
That manager was implying that if people who committed fraud simply never spoke about it, no one should be legally allowed to report on it lol. Only takes about 2 brain cells to see why that makes absolutely 0 sense

I teach high school. This morning I described the game to my 17-year-old students as if it were a hypothetical situation and asked them if this sounded like something they would consider putting any money into. Most said probably not, a few said maybe a small amount. Then I asked if it would convince any of them if they knew that Logan Paul was endorsing it. One of the maybe guys called out, "That would convince me NOT to do it." They all told me that just because somebody's famous that doesn't mean it's a good idea to risk money on some idea that they come up with. Somebody said that they'd be worried that he'd do something to mess it up on purpose just to be funny. That's when I let them know that this was real. I said that this isn't something I would be interested in either, but I'm not a member of his target audience so I was curious to know their opinion. Their reaction, "What? You think we're his target audience?" Some of them, I think jokingly, acted insulted by the idea. I asked him who then was the target audience was then if it wasn't them. According to them it's middle schoolers.

When I hear about this stuff, these scams, I always imagine the victims being super young or elderly, people that just don't understand obvious scams. As a developer, I've taken code "hostage" quite a few times. You'd be amazed at the amount of people who try to wiggle themselves out of agreements, verbal AND written agreements.

I’ve worked in low budget indi filmmaking and your situation isn’t that uncommon in the indi film space either. I worked with a cenimatographer who held a day’s worth of footage hostage because the director didn’t have money to pay him. They literally shot a major scene of the film that day but he when he found out he wasn’t gonna be paid that was it and he didn’t give up the footage either.
Same thing in construction. Customers will try to renegotiate the deal after the project has been completed.

Obviously it's bullshit but I wonder if it works on smaller independent journalists or average people trying to break down a story.
