♦ Sims 2 vs Sims 3 vs Sims 4 : Seasons - Spring

- Hey everyone! Finally done with seasons! Just in time for the next Get Famous expansion! Either they're getting expansions more often or I take to long to finish these, maaaybe a little bit of both. Anyways, here's the last part and this time there was hardly anything Spring exclusive to be found so I made a section to include everything that I couldn't compare, mostly introduced objects, and oh man, there are a lot of them, so this is a little messy than the rest of the videos but hope you can enjoy either ways!
Things that I considered in this last video are weather, gardening (very basic stuff so in the future the will be a video dedicated to it alone) aaaand everything that I hadn't talked about in the other videos, I'm sure I must have left something out but hopefully it wasn't something important, the one thing I'm aware is still missing is the ways to change the weather but I'll see if I can include it in a later video.
Tell me which one is your favorite for spring and seasons overall.
My opinion?
Sims 2 did great in adding proper gardening and adding it to the rest of the content, the way you get the wishing well and how you can use harvestables is pretty good. Plant Sims are a big plus.
Sims 3 had a very fun festival and added some interesting things, the wildflowers, the eggs and the gnomes are fun to collect. Adding aliens here was a bit odd but it worked well enough.
Sims 4 is probably the one with the most extra content, the flower arranging, the bees, the scouts, even the flower bunny are things that I liked, so far seasons is my favorite expansion for the sims 4, but get famous is right around the corner so let's see if they step it up.

I thought the addition of flower making in sims 4 was very sweet and charming. My grandparents owned a flower shop when I was young and it reminds me fondly of them :)
There's flower arrangements in sims 2 too but it's in another expansion called Sims 2 business or something along those lines cant remember it too well. XD
I bought this pack only for the flower arrangement skill and career!!

I think the one in romantic garden stuff is similar for sims 4 but the sims coming out of no where is pretty great so the sims 2 one is definitely quirkier

In Romantic Garden Stuff there is a Wishing Well that is very similar to Sims 2 one also you can wish a Son or a SoulMate so i think both Wells are Great

While I was aware of the Wishing well, I had no idea about Mrs Crumplebottom crawling out of it if you'd use it too much! Oh my...Not to mention, Garden Club is not available on apartment lots, which I play the most. Maybe this explain why I've never knew about purse lady. ;)
That's the beauty of The Sims 2. It doesn't matter how many times you played you're always finding new stuff. The game has so much content for me it's easily the best in the series.
There's a wishing well in Sims 3 as well, which was an improvement on S2 one (I think it came with Lucky Palms) and you get a wider variety of wishes. With one of them, you can wish for a child and as I recall, what you get is a nasty little toe rag - or maybe it's temperament depends on certain conditions being met. I'm pretty sure Onlyabidoang did a video on it.

The garden lady can be special at times. I had a sim call the garden club. Lady shows up and invites the rest. First thing she complains of trash in the yard. Whaaa? I look around and realize she's talking about the flamingo! Then one of the bushes became overgrown so she complained about that. Best part was that another sim in the house was cooking dinner and set the stove on fire and when the fire truck turned up the garden lady was like, 'oh, dear, there seems to be some trouble on your lot. We'll just come back another day.' Thanks for nothing, garden lady!

Sims 4 graphics and cloths
Sims 3 seasons and with no loading screens
Sims 2 animations and base game stuff
And they should also add driving cars back into the game because nobody likes TP everywhere
They should have college and pets
I think they should bring back the way the Sims 3 camera thing worked. Like, in Sims 4 your camera is restricted to the district or neighbour hood you're in, whereas in Sims 3 you can move your camera to be anywhere in the world with little to no restrictions.

Sims 4 spring has some pretty cool stuff, but I kind of like how the wishing well worked in Sims 2 as opposed to the one we got in Sims 4. (Specifically, I want money falling out of the sky and beaning Sims on the head again XD)

My wishing well in Sims 2 would drop four different amounts of money from $1000-$10 000 over the next couple of hours. Might have been a mod I had. I also could make greenhouses in Sims 3 without buying the store content one, using the Grass rug things from ITF and making all the walls have windows, bam, instant greenhouse.
In Sims 3 supernatural, you can grow plants indoors with special planter bowls (they're fairly hidden under decorations category, or you can find them in pre-made Supernatural collection)

I think the only packs that flopped where get to work and get famous (because of del small valley). The rest are fine.
@Artoria Pendragon get to work is boring. it's like ambitions, but made in a lazy way and you get bored of the same work system.
and parenthood is also really lazy, we don't have interactions with babies, or elder sims.

Hey guys, just so you know, I'm going to be experimenting with content (at least I plan to) so you may find videos that aren't comparisons in my next uploads (they're going to be Sim related tho) but don't worry, I won't stop the comparisons, in fact I'm going to compare gardening as a whole in the future because this video was getting waaay too long and I thought it'd be nice to include Sims 1 in it, so stay tuned.

I love spring! It's a balanced season which has sunshine, cloudy, rain, thunderstorm and even rarely snow/hail. It's not too hot and not too cold.
It's also the most horrible season for people with pollen allergy

i'm the same way but pollen allergy is the only minus one for me, everything else is great
the daylight gets longer and stronger, everything comes back to live, the temperatures isn't too hot nor too cold

TS2 - just a way better designed gameplay experience IMO. But happy with how TS4 carried it.

We need the level of detail that was put into the Sims 2 to come back to the series. I sunk so many hours into this game as a kid. Im sure I have over 3,000 hours. The Sims 3 was also my favorite as well. The Sims 4 barely gets played.

If only sims 4 have the same build freedom and same content than sims2 , will be the best sims game ever. But even with the lack of content sims 4 is more funny. Sims 3 is amazing but laggy as hell
Imagine if there will be a sims game with Sins 3's gameplay and Sims 4's graphics and CAS. I would freaking buy a beefy PC just for that, I wouldn't mind at all.
It's 2019, you really shouldn't be playing on a toaster by now. The Sims 3 runs really smooth on PCs with good specs.
@@D0MiN0ChAn The sims 3 doesnt run smooth at all. Its not about the specs, its about how crappy coding it has. It wont run well with all expansion/stuff packs. Dont be in denial how crappy the sims 3 runs.

Ngl the festivals in 3 were always my favorite thing to do. In 4 they're more unique but I wouldn't go to all of them in the same playthrough, like not all my sims are gonna be into gaming or the mischief skill. But I would always make it a priority to go to the festivals in 3, there was something that was just so fun and relaxing for me, yet not dull. I think that's one of my main gripes with 4. It's either really hard or just....boring. No in between. A lot of random things that would happen in the Sims 3 just don't happen in 4

People call Sims 2 overrated.
I grew up with that game, so nostalgia might get in the way of that, but it doesn't stop me from loving Sims 3. Even the original is fun to come back to. Sims 4 just feels empty unless you pay more money for packs - and if you don't like/enjoy a game, what's the point of buying more for it?

My most played house in the sims 2 always had a stay at home mom whose hobby was gardening. She even had her own green house. I’m not much of a green thumb but my sim sure was!

I think seasons is the pack where all the games seemed to do a pretty good job with it, and went above and beyond just adding seasons alone and calling it a day

In The Sims 3, technically even though there weren't Greenhouses, you can still Garden indoors. Supernatural introduced Planter Boxes, which you can find in the Plants section of decor. This will allow you to plant Smaller plants in a controlled space. In Into The Future, Grassy rugs can be placed down practically anywhere in your house, allowing all sorts of plants from trees to bushes to vines inside the house. There are methods of preventing plant dormancy.
Yeah, but this was about seasons and as I said Gardening will have its own comparison, but I'm unsure when that will be since Sims 4 is still adding new elements, cottage living introduced larger vegetables so it's clear they're not done yet.
@@TheRedPlumbob To be fair, seasons and farming feel like the last big additions to TS4 gardening. IMO even if they add more elements they will be pretty minor in comparison.
Patchy is definitely useful for gardening when I made a big farm in game, since he'd be watering the plants and taking care of them while my sim was busy.
Also on Love Day at times you'll get a sim (usually with some romance bar) to call you up and wanting to go out on a date. Tested this a few times and they always do. Too bad they still don't pick up the tab.

I play 2-4 and I just love these comparison videos. Not only because it's neat to see the difference and get to vote for my personal iteration for different features, but because I am learning something new from them usually and i've been playing the sims for years lol. Love your videos! For instance, I've never known that Mrs. Crumplebottom comes out of the wishing well if you have bad luck with the romance wish, makes perfect sense though! She is one of my favorite NPCs in TS2. I used to harass her in the early days for kicks LOL.

A couple things missing: In Sims 4 it can also snow in spring and weather changes depending on the neighborhood with some neighborhoods leaning towards colder or warmer climates (ex: Mt Komorebi from Snowy Escape tends to be colder and you'll have a higher chance of snow in the spring and fall while Oasis Springs from base game is hotter and tends to not have snow at all (or very little if it does). Also mysterious weather is random and can happen any season afaik.
Man, gardening in the Sims gets me so happy for some reason.

Sims 2 had the best item with that wishing well.
And Sims 4 has the best weather effects that applies for all the season.
TS3 also has much better Wishing well as Store content. And weather and Seasons where much better in TS3.
You can see partly remained snow every lot when the spring comes in the sims 3. I love this effect.

Gardening was first introduced in the Sims Unleashed where you need to by seeds at the old town and plant them on gardening beds placed in build/buy mode. If you have too many plants gophers like rabbits can destroy your garden. Future sims games never featured rabbits alongside gardening however in the sims 4 rabbits do make a return in the Cottage Living Expansion pack but gardening was introduced in the Sims 4 Base Game. Plants never go dormant in the Sims 1 due to no weather or seasons featured in the game.
The Sims 2 was mainly about gardening. They probably forgot to do it in an older expansion, so they did it now.

So many things in Sims 3 and 2 I never realized was possible. But sadly Sims 4 is kinda simple when it comes to gameplay (mainly because of story progression not existing) that I've always done basically everything in the week off that season.
That's really nice, thank you, but I don't think I'll be making a patreon soon since I barely upload and patreon has monthly goals, so I don't think I'd be able to pull it off. And yeah, all of the games have so much details even I'm still learning a lot on each comparison, I never used the well before this so it was a nice surprise and I'm thinking I'll compare wishing wells in the future.
The Sims. The only game where you can control a swarm of fucking bees to fly off and fetch you a gift. Lmfao
actually if u build a greenhouse around the plants (not too close) then they will not go dorment i tried it and it worked for sims 3 and 4 not sure for sims 2
