What I love about golf is opponents celebrating and being genuinely happy for the other player
The only other sport Ive seen that happen is probably pole vault.
My thoughts exactly it why i love golf people get happy for their opponent even though it could win them the day or tournament.
I notice many of these shots were made with a 4-iron. And I draw the conclusion that me not having that club in my bag is the only reason that I've never made an eagle.
I tend to avoid hitting 3 wood on par 5’s, but I do pull out the old 3 and 4 iron a lot on them. Very useful clubs.
I'm impressed you can tell the club just by looking lol. How do you know it isn't a 5 or a 3 iron? Is it from observing the shape of the club directly, or by looking at how much loft the ball gets?
@@BrandNewByxorI just listened to the commentators :)
Eagle... 3 on a par 5... or 2 on a par 4 or a 1 on a par 3.
Albatross... 2 on a par 5 or 1 on a par 4.
4 iron is my favourite club
I'll never get over at how well the cameramen follow the ball.
Yea they should get awards too ridiculous
lol love how the last guy can make that shot then misses the high-5 twice
lol! no consistency
rookie move!...look at the elbow and you will never miss a high 5 ever
That "fucking stupid guy" makes about 200x more than you make, and consistently make atmosphere calculations based on feeling. You try doing a nearly impossible feat and see if you have the concentration to give someone a high-five. I'd be hype as hell.
Danny Capps. Just shut the fuck up you good for nothing son of a bitch!
it's called humour, try it some time
In 1983 at Royal Birkdale on the 1st day of the British open, US golfer and 1981 winner Bill Rogers got an albertros and I was working as a scoreboard operator and lucky enough to have witnessed it.
You have a great luck!
Awesome story
Love how fellow pros and competitors gather round and give their congratulations.
I know they're going in, but I'm still on the edge of my seat every single time
I triple bogeyed a par 1..
That's known as a "carp"
Me thinks you is dyslexic.
I think your honest 😉😉
No such thing in golf as a par one ! And if there was, the least you could go down is one, so that would be par ! You misspelt carp, it should be "crap" 🙄
@@keithssavidge5864 First of all the intent is humor. Second, I didn't state I made par. I said it was a triple bogey on a par 1 which would be a four. Who cares what paring a 1 par is. It adds nothing relevant to my comment. Thirdly, your last sentence is absurd. You cant say I misspelled "carp", and it should be crap. You can say I misspelled crap as carp. You can say I wrote carp instead or crap. What you wrote makes no sense. Go soak your head.
@@keithssavidge5864 I honestly think you should get a sense of humor. How can you miss such an obvious joke?
The game has changed so much lately. In the stone age an albatross wasnt made with a mid iron but usually a fairway wood.
Witnessed my brother’s double eagle back in September, 2017. I was actually taking a leak under a pine tree when he struck the ball and I turned around towards the hole just as the ball was approaching the green. He was ~235 yards out in the rough and hit a 5-wood over a pond and it drilled the stick. Couldn’t see the ball drop into the cup from our vantage point, but we had heard the sound of the ball striking what we believed was the pin. I figured the ball had likely ricocheted off of the pin into the woods behind the green, or that it would be somewhere in the surrounding rough. When we drove up to the hole, I was looking around and could not see a ball anywhere. I stood on the front of the green as my brother pulled the cart around to the back of the green. I SO wanted to look in the cup to see if the ball was in there, but knew I had to let him check. We were both giddy at the possibility of the ball being in the hole. He slowly approached the hole, stopped, and then leaned forward and peered into the cup. Then he suddenly grabbed the pin and yanked it and the ball out of the hole while screaming “It’s in the hole!” We must have high-fived and hugged each other a million times that day. It was easily the greatest golf experience I’ll ever have and the greatest shot I’ll ever see. So now, just about every time we play a par 5, when he’s hitting his second shot, I can’t help but think, “He’s actually got a legitimate chance for double eagle here... I mean...I’ve already seen him do it once!”
Gay
Except it's an albatross. No such thing as a double eagle
@@dmano366 I think it is apparently called a double eagle in the USA for some reason, but yes, albatross is the proper term methinks.
Pretty much the only sport where your competitors get as much of a kick out of a great piece of play as you do individually. That's why golf is such a great sport imho.
Hello, dear golf friends.
I'm looking for videotaped, "CONDOR" golf holes scored.
There’s more awkward high fives in this video than albatrosses. Love it
Love that Jiménez swing 2:49
I did this twice
I mean, is my second time watching
I love watching these because they show just what a huge part plain old luck plays in this game...I've been hacking away at this game for over 30 years and I still stink... but it is fun to keep trying!!!
Was expecting to see a bird take a ball and fly off... this is how you know I’m new
Jimenez albatross is amazing!!
Yep - the 17th at Valderrama was no joke in the 1990s
I’m surprised there is even a top ten for this.. impressive European tour
I was waiting for a 6 foot long wings to casually fly by and gulp the golf balls but I guess that's not the albatross they are talking about...
Me too....CLICKBAIT!!
That's all right, bud. The Americans keep waiting for a deuce of eagles on the PGA Channel, for some reason.
Yes.... this made me sad
Poor joke.
Every body knows what albatross is in golf.
Just envisioned the video where they rank albatrosses lol
good lord that background music.
That last one warmed my heart
Pretty impressive. Can't wait for golf season for some good healthy exercise
2:26 bless you!!
#7, thank you for showing some actual emotion on a near impossible shot in golf.
Was thinking same thing when watching.
Amazing
Great shots , accompanied by lots of “The Price Is Right!” music.
When I clicked on this, I thought I was going to see golfballs hitting birds.
This is next level dude perfect
Love the edit they got better with each one.
Yes, of course everything's debatable, but a rear feat in these kinda clips to actually place them in such a good order.
I don't think people understand how hard that shot realy and even in general golf
Yep way more rare than hole in one
fantastic .......
I bet this was recommended because I just watched Pink Floyd's Echos, which contains in its lyrics"albatross."
Or Iron Maiden's "Rime of the Ancient Mariner"
These are really the best shots out there. Better than hole in one's
Olazabal was the second best long iron player I ever saw with the exception of Jack Nicklaus.
I have to say first thing, that you don't have the words "double eagle" in the title, which warms my heart. Well done...👍
Very nice
That shot by Jiminez was the first time I'd ever heard of him. He did this in round 3 I believe, and he very nearly did the exact same thing on the final day, now that would have been something.
Amazing to think there are two shots on that hole, especially considering how difficult both of those pins are.
You have to love the calm demeanor of the announcers from England.
Amo esse jogo
Albatross is such a badass name for it, I've known of this term for a long time, not sure if I've ever seen video of it.
Anybody who calls it a "double eagle" is a loserface.
That's so true I don't care about Golf at all but the awesomenes of the name got me searching for it on yt.
Even better is the condor, an ace on a par5
It's not even technically a double eagle, which would imply that it's 2x an eagle or -4.
True. It is so great and rare it deserve a different name and not just adding double.
Hmmm, only american people use double eagle term, so this is nonsense
Man I love Golf!..................................................................................................................................................sometimes.
I've this so many times. No biggy for me
How do you rank these? All equally incredible.
The music is my favorite part of this video 😂
Impressive
Useful shot that is. Useful
was hoping to see Oouisthezen's albattross..
+S Ma they did say no majors
true true
This is only from the European tour. But yes, that 2012 Masters albatross is the best one I've seen.
Bless you
You have to learn to spell his name first ;)
Fan of golf because of the game " golf rival " 😂😂
I'm not even into golf but was curious about the hole in ones and albatrosses due to the game called Golf rival lol
I would love to see a Tee of Albatross on a par5. Some of these guys can really smash it
fantastic ……..
Yea I was waiting for Oosthuizen's at the masters.
'European Tour'
Though technically, aren't the majors part of the Euro tour?
The amazing thing is none of them were trying for an Albatross they just wanted to get near the hole ....amazing !!
THE MACHINE !
"If that's not shot of the year, I'm a dutchman!" and I quote
Tony Soprano mustve won a lot of money to be that happy at 02:00
They were all focused on the hole and not on the green! They intended this!
I've started watching golf because Indian Golfer Aditi Ashok is in medal race in tokyo 2020. 4th round 4 hole to go. She's at 3rd rn.🇮🇳
My friend Bob, don't know if you know him, had 2 albatrosses in a row followed by a hole in one and still couldn't break 80!
I hit a negative albatross the other day, pretty dope
1:05 ... who's on the munumunu mic pumpin? Man's a big old school Skibadee fan. Auto trader
Hole 15 Takapuna golf course n.z. in the year 2000. I was 21 and didn't get to see it drop. We looked everywhere and then BOOM!!! Albatross baby!!!
Good times compared to the tyranny we're all facing now
Dude, golfers are the most AWKWARD celebrators I've EVER seen! Not ONE of them can decide if they want to hug, high five, fist bump, or shake hands, so they try all of them at once! lol
I love how half of the shots are obscured by the chyron.
The announcers with such enthusiasm
The very essence that drives us average golfers... to the end.. hahaha
Has anyone ever gotten on of these off the t box on a par 4?
#4 was the best. Given where he had to land it and the consequences if he came up short.
02:06 The hard-to-hug kind of manager where you need ultra-long arms to reach around.
Here after learning what an albatross is on Dan Q8000 channel!!
Never heard of Albatross until today
Firm handshakes all around
The best of the video are the celebrations
That Jimenez shot was balzzy! What a boss!!!!
By far best shot of video
What's amazing is we didn't see Jack, Arnie or Tiger in this video!!
Came for the golf
Left because of the music
long iron shot from the fairway that pitches short and rolls in
3 albatrosses at Valderamma!
That last one that guy couldn't even land a high five
I once had a hole in two on a par 5, pitty I was playing the par 4 along side it, lol.
Je viens de faire mon Albatros, dimanche dernier, au trou n 4 du golf de Trousse chemise (ile de Ré). Vous penserez à moi quand vous y serez 😎
#3 Jose Maria Olazabal over water tight pin so crisp
"In golf, "albatross" is a term for scoring 3-under par on an individual hole.
Yes, albatross is another word for a double eagle - the two terms are identical in meaning. But, as we'll see below, albatross is the more widely used term."
imagine making an albatross on the tour
but missing this list
Do you get choc ices with it?
TIGRE BOIS !!!
I love how there is over 2 million views and only a couple of thousands of likes
Do someone know the name of the sogs of shots 8 and 2?
2:25 bless you
Thank you, algorithm
Bugger me, it’s 1:20 am and here I am …don’t even play golluff
Luiten wears the same fucking trousers to every event.
there is something wrong when guys can routinely hit par 5's with an iron.
U gotta have the wind blowing hard enough in the right way
Most pros hit 310ydrivers & 250y 2iron easy so an average par 5 can be reached in 2 easily.
Not really. Just excellent skill and power. No amateur can do it
@@timenize7954 Hence my point. There is something wrong when most pros can easily reach a par 5 in 2 shots. It's not really a par 5 now, is it?
@@arjanpetersen Yes really. Your point is kind of irrelevant. If the pros are reaching them in 2 routinely then they are not playing par 5's. They are playing par 4's.
Golfers botching high-fives holds a very dear place in my heart
Hahaha it seems to be a thing 😅
Olazabal’s celebration tho 🥳
This would,d have been a much better video without the background music!!
Why the terrible music? Commentary is all that’s needed. I like the way the graphic of the player’s name so often covered the ball & its connection with the club, ie the best bit of watching a good swing.
So exciting 😴 💤
4:32 fail lol
Happens to me all the time. XD
