    TY, very understandable and perceptive. Thanx for helping this city old man prepare his first ever fishing rig. Very nice of you to do this for... me.

    awesome tutorial! Will be giving this a shot. I plan on making many of your primary loop setups and then make many hook setups. That way I can make the rigs easier at location without all the hooks dangling everywhere. Thanks again!

    Great video which I've referred more than once. Given you made it in 2015 you may not be doing anymore, but if you have the time and inclination I'm sure we would appreciate a series of videos on various knots and rig setups? Cheers

    Try different non-reflective backgrounds, like a matte black painted board, or even sheets of dark construction paper, to improve visibility of the filament. Even a dark, solid color fabric tablecloth. A different light source might help - not the flourescent you seem to have. A 'daylight' bulb is good for improving visibility in many other hand crafts, maybe this one too.
    I liked the speed you did the instructions/demo part though. Easy to pause where I needed to or replay bits.
    My rigs tangle - the upper hook always wraps around my line, so I end up feeding those pesky baby sunfish a lot, lol. Are you adding swivels?

    It is much easier to get the hook onto the main line by just slipping the loop on the hook over the loop on the main line and then just feeding the hook through the main line loop....much easier when putting any snelled hook onto a drop loop.

    How do you keep the lines from the hook wrapping around and getting stuck on each other when you throw it out into the water?

    • @PhillipAndWorld
      @PhillipAndWorld  Před 6 lety

      Christian Carter it typically happens with this type of rig. You can buy wired rigs for a few dollars that let you put snelled hooks on easily if this rig is a problem for you. Tight lines

    *Perfect size hook for hatchery catfish that weigh between 3-5 lbs. my lip hook almost all the time unless your bait is very much desired by the fish>>> **allabout.wiki/1004** It's very durable made from hardened steel, I believe. You can use it over and over. It never rusts in my tackle bag. I use a knot less snell with a 25 lb mono filament leader line from Kastking for this hook. Its point is very sharp and can easily land a thieving fish. We landed many catfish with this hook. Best purchased in packs of 25 which should last you throughout the season.*

    i am new to beach fishing...so i am just tring anything...does the line for the rig you describe have to be a different strength to the main fishing line?

    • @PhillipAndWorld
      @PhillipAndWorld  Před 6 lety

      no, it does not have to be. it varies a lot on the type of fishing and species, but there is nothing wrong with having the same line.

    problem is with lighter line this will all tangle together thats why i prefer using either a pickerel rig or tie the hooks directly to the main line using a dropper loop or away from main line using a double twist dropper loop which makes your hook lines stiff enough to not tangle on the main line

    Show a set up using swivels. I want to go trout fishing, so what is the best set up. Hook at the end of the line? Weight at the end of the line? Seen too many to know what is right or wrong.

    • @jamieevans871
      @jamieevans871 Před 8 lety

      fly rod ... but to answer question you have to work out what the fish are feeding on if there heads are down then you want the bait low if they are feeding on the surface you need bait up high lures are deadly on trout never fished for them with bait only fly and sometimes a lure

    • @PhillipAndWorld
      @PhillipAndWorld  Před 8 lety

      typically doesnt matter because the fish normally see the bait instead of the tangles! trust me this rig works ill upload a video of me using it soon!

      Chen Brian no the swivel prevents that

  • @rafaelcuevas5383

    Instead of doing this separately can't you just do it to the mainline that's already tied to your fishing pole

    LMAO (sorry not being rude) But a Centimetre is about 1/2 an inch ! Leaving a "few centimetres" would mean about 1 1/2 inches! LOL You meant to say "Millimetres".
    I have subscibed because I like your videos!
    Rhetorical question: Why is it that the World leader for technology uses one of the oldest and most confusing measurement systems?

    • @PhillipAndWorld
