In this video, I show you how to set-up your DAW for screen recording or live-streaming using OBS. I use Ableton but this should work for FL Studio, Logic, Cubase, maybe even GarageBand!

I dont even use these music things, but you are so charismatic and nice that I always feel good watching your videos. Also, its quite surprising that your videos are incredibly high quality but you dont have that many subscribers, views, etc. I have seen this with many "small" youtubers, with few videos all very good quality, good editing but really new to the platform, its honestly impressive to see how much easier it is to edit, plan a script, and just make a good quality video in general these days, I always think "how do these people not have a lot of subscribers yet??" This all might seem a bit silly but its really impressive to me to see how much video making has improved in the past years
Thanks I really appreciate that. So, I actually worked in television as a video editor and producer for over 10 years. Compared to what I used to do this is “low quality”. Frankly, this is a lot more fun for me. That said, the tools to make good quality content is a lot more accessible these days. The tools are out there, you just need to know how to use them!
it would be awesome to know how to shown the pluggins windows that i pop up in ableton - i cannt do it. I mean - im not using the screen capture im using the windows capture and - of course - those pluggins windows wont show on the steam :C

Well thanks. Okay, this is the easy part but unfortunately, you have not discussed the most important thing the video, the audio and the output configuration part which is causing the most issues. encoders and so on. What encoder to use what format etc in order to get the best audio quality. For instance, I can never get the audio right. It sounds lagging and crackling. I have just wasted 2 hours of screen recording and it is totally useless because of the aduio is completely f'd.Could you share your audio settings and explain things regarding this matter?
It wasn't recognized when I rescanned the VST folder. Moved the dll file directly to the folder and even like that it won't work. Deactivated ASIO and OBS recognizes my Ableton audio, but i get latency on my midi device. 🙁
put the ddl file in the steinberg folder inside C:/Program Files :) will work!
It didn’t work for me and I dod t like that you have to add it to each session in Abelton. Get ASIO OBS. I can open Abelton, play during my live stream and record if I want. Easy.

Is there a way to capture the video from a video clip that's playing in Ableton and play it in your OBS stream?
I am trying to live stream acoustic drum covers. The pre-recording backing track is in the ableton session, and the drumset audio is coming from external drum mics from my audio interface. I want to stream the Ableton session audio into OBS, and then stream the OBS audio to Instagram Live. IS IT POSSIBLE?
After downloading the plugin my Ableton does not detect any vst for restream. I have tried downloading the reaplugs multiple times but only .dll files are downloaded when I checked the VST directory. Idk if I am missing something

@@naivee_ Nope, i gave up too, i used voicemeeter banana instead and it worked that way but the latency for playing live was too high and there was glitch in the sound that i was too lazy to look into and fix
After doing all that and selecting "play" on ableton I got an extremely loud and long buzz sound in my headphones, almost got a heart attack man 😭 now I need to solve whatever caused this
The ReaPlugs VST FX Suite isn't available for mac :(
When I used Mac there was a software called Soundflower. It works differently that using ReaStream but that should do what you want.
