- Are you ready for the 360pocalypse? Prices are undoubtedly going to increase on games once we draw closer to the Xbox 360 Digital Storefront closing on July 29th 2024. I break down the types of price trends you need to be paying attention to NOW on common, uncommon and sorta rare games to be in-the-know on which games you need to focus on getting before it's to late.

Loving this Petedorr renaissance we've been having. Really great stuff, please keep it up!
Hard agree, but it makes me cringe thinking that these videos could have been spread out over 2 months with 1/week uploads. I hope Pete doesn't get burnt out!
The cynical side of me says he’s running out of cash, so decided to dive in. I’m not mad though, love the guy.
@@javanboydjust be happy he is still making videos
@@BlueflagAlpha Literally my second sentence. I am!
Unfortunately looks like another slowdown is happening. I REALLY wish he spread out these videos to grow his subscriber count more instead of teasing a regular schedule only to disappear again.
Lost Odyssey had three sold on September 2nd, two sold on September 3rd, three on September 4th, and then SIXTEEN sold on September 5th when this video published. It really illustrates the herd, follower mentality of most humans. It's such a pathetic weakness.
So true
As an Xbox enthusiast I’ve already been preparing. Picked up a bunch of games I’ve wanted to get over the years but held off on for one reason or another. Finally added Operation Darkness to my library (wish I picked it up back when I saw it for $20 and under all the time) along with Senko No Ronde and Tenchu Z. Gonna be getting a couple more over this coming year
Wartech is definitely a hidden gem! Pick up Fatal Inertia too if you're looking for cool cheap uncommon titles.
@@warehousedave7937Ninja Blade 🤠
Same, played like 6-7 hours of Operation Darkness and it's actually pretty decent. The difficulty spike, though, are pretty brutal lol
I suspect the games that are not backward compatible will have a larger impact on price.
M$ did clarify you can still purchase Xbox 360 games digitally on the store on the X-One/Series/S/X after the cut-off date, however only on select backward compatible titles.
So pretty much just Microsoft studios, star wars, and select cod/Ubisoft titles
Yupp it follows the cycle. Xbox 360 was cheapest 2 years ago. Now begins the price climb.
Just snagged Blue Dragon for $20 because I had a feeling 360 was going to become nostalgic soon, then the store closing just made my decision even better.
Great idea for a video Pete, you’re spot on. I actually just last month picked up a gorgeous sealed copy of Blue Dragon for $25 which felt like a great deal. I tried to find lost odyssey but they didn’t have one! I’m going to pull the trigger on it soon and I’m just happy I’m close to finishing off my dream 360 collection
Yo thank you for this video. I kind of stopped hunting due to the pandemic increasing the prices but you reminded me of a lot of games on my list that I need to get for not only 360 but PS3 as well. I'm a little more motivated now
As with the Wii, I completely filled out my 360 collection years ago knowing this day would come (and everything was super cheap). If there's any two games I would put on the list to watch out for is Culdcept Saga and Spectral Force 3. Both very different games, but in the same vein of somewhat niche genres (one is a card based game, the other tactial RPG) while having somewhat lower print runs. They're not particularly rare, but I barely ever noticed them out in the wild and I could see them EXPLODING in price once the copies at their $30-40 price point dry up.
Got them when the 8th generation came. Cheaply too. $5-$10.
@@tr1besThat was the best time to buy Wii/360/PS3.
Yeah I picked up a bunch of Wii and 360 games for like $10 when GameStop and other stores were wanting to dump their inventory.
yup i built up a pretty good collection a few years ago based on some hidden gems videos and must haves. i bought lots of games loose because i was more interested in having them to play than just collecting them for profit. yes it would be awesome to have cib copies and get hundreds of dollars someday for them but its worth more to me to be able to play them someday. im tempted to buy backup consoles to ensure i can do that as with things going all digital it may be impossible to do that
I'm so happy to see you posting everyday. Even if I can't relate to one video. I still have to check it out. Keep up the great work pete.
Loving these videos. I rewatch them and sometimes have them just play in the background.
Appreciate it!
Great analysis Pete, also good call to release this video this soon. Gives people come context well ahead of time
The difference with this generation is that the ones that are backwards compatible and digitally available won’t be as insane. However, weird titles, especially exclusives without BC will get big soon. I like the 360’s weirder shooters a lot though, nothing I really want to pick up anymore.
OMG A PETE VIDEO COVERING MY FAVORITE CONSOLE OF ALL TIME! Excited for ur insight!!!
I traded a large part of my 360 and original Xbox collection recently and noticed some huge increases in prices though here in the UK it still seems there's way less interest and prices are lower overall compared to the US scene.
One I retained is Advent rising which shocked me on value.
Blue dragon I can pick up for very cheap and will be as I never had a copy.
I been waiting for this to happen. Some of my local places I been able to get many sealed xbox 360 for almost nothing, and there are at best 10 sealed copies available at a given time. I've held onto all of the ones I've gotten over the past few years
Pete, thanks for the videos, please keep them coming! Would you be able to discuss the PS Vita in a video ? Perhaps a discussion on game prices?
Nice video.
You should make a video about selling PSN & Xbox accounts that have rare/delisted games tied to them.
Some games have never been released on disc and were only online available.
Those who purchased such games back in the day should consider them selves lucky and have a account potentially worth a lot of money.
Aw Pete the regular upload energy is IMMACULATE!!!
I doubled down on wrapping up the bulk of my 7th gen games the week Microsoft announced they were going to cease production on new Xbox 360's. So I bought 2 brand new 500GB HDD "E" Xbox 360 consoles to assure my ability to be able to enjoy my 360 collection. I use one console with all my DLC heavy games & expansions installed to the 500GB HDD & the other as a backup where I can play the remainder of my games straight off the DVD drive.
Buying backup systems and downloading game updates en DLC content is a good strategy Dean. You never know what Microsoft will do with digital content and updates. I'm doing the same thing myself as well. I just bought a Xbox 360 S and am still on the lookout for an E model.
Ditto. Have 3 E models with low hours. 1 extra MS drive. Over 100 games plus 100 or more OG Xbox to play on there as well.
Thinking in the near future to get as much redundancy as possible on my top 20 or so titles. The ones I go back to over and over.
I mostly agree with everything said here, but from how the Xbox letter reads, I gather that you will still be able to buy 360 games through Xbox one and series S/X. The letter, as I recall only said you will not be able to make purchases through the 360 store, so IMO, the backwards compatible games should not suffer such a big increase, but the games that are you can only play in 360 (and maybe PS3) will see the biggest increase because at the end of the day, you will still be able to "buy" a digital copy of Blue Dragon or Lost Odyssey, but not of PSU or the Platinum brawler game that has Bayonetta as a guest character, I believe it's name is Chaos Reign or something like that
I believe this will be the case.
Great video, Pete.. I can see the rise.. I'm blessed to have every game i need on the 360 bar 1 or 2 titles.. Thanks for the heads up
Great video, very useful info! With just a few minutes of research, I found that you are spot on the prices right now, so I see for sure your prediction coming true.🙂
Loving The Daily Dorr uploads 😂 , cheers Pete 🍻
Finally the anxiously awaited 360 video! Thank you Pete!!
Such a treat to have you back Pete, such a goated figure in this space!
Very informative! These are Great videos!
was wondering if there was gonna be a vid today! dont stop now!!!
Pete , I'm loving all these uploads !!!
Thanks for the new video Pete! Enjoyed listening to this one.
Armoured Core V is one that has shot up recently, going for about $70 AUS in some places. I have a copy, but luckily I managed to rip some of the print/paint off the disc surface while trying to remove some permanent marker. Good times. It's still working though.
All Armored Core games are still up since the Game Awards AC6 reveal from last December. The price increase should retrace a decent amount soon, but some of the games are actually a bit uncommon like Nexus or Last Raven.
You definitely highlighted two of the ones Im still trying to get. Beautiful Katamari and Lost Odyssey. I'll have to keep my eye out for them next time.
I'd like to say I really enjoy watching ur vids the way u talk about games are awsome gets me in the mood to game
Love to open my youtube app and see Pete Dorr videos again 🙌🏻
Thanks for all the info Pete
Great vid, thanks for the tips
I can't wait for the next video, highlighting the 360 games to look out for.
Same.
Xbox 360 had a considerable amount of SHMUPs while the PS3 had almost none.
Agree. Those are worth getting
thank you bro! i just bought 50 360 games in past month and im grading some of them because of youtubers like you who woke me up to rrmind me about the closurr! thsnk you!!
Many of the previous bumps in Xbox 360 game prices you'll see, were do to the games being added to the Xbox One or Series X Backwards Compatibility listing. Lost Odyssey was one of those situations. It was added to the Xbox One in September 2016.
Just curious, how do you feel about Katamari Perfect on the PS3?
This is the most sound and level headed advice I have heard in a long time. I've been collecting 360 for years and luckily only have common sports titles left for the full set but these fomo price hikes are getting insane. Its most definitely coming when the store closes and it just makes me sad as it will price people out of a few games and I like to think games should be for all.
Then they wonder why emulation is so popular.
@@trevagraham1605 honestly don't blame people. Just played super metroid on the SNES classic. That saved me some money and prob played better on a modern TV. Also could have saved a ton more with a few clicks of the mouse
@@BawhawhawYTindeed!
I am so thankful I just bought an older 2008 or 09 360 for $30 on facebook marketplace. Got a cib copy of gta 5 and red dead redemption. Along with some other nice titles. As far as I am concerned I will definitely take your advice. Thank you for being my gaming go to for this hobby since 2008. I still watch the fallout 3 unboxing video you did and that 3ds new york video as well. There aren't a lot of youtubers I'd care to meet but you would definitely be one of them. Thank you so much for the decade plus of entertainment! I really hope you can continue this for years to come.
Great vid, I missed your content Pete
Have always been more of a a casual watcher on PriceCharting graphs, myself. Pretty crazy when you see a game go up in value 200 percent…
I mean… Legend on SNES or Punisher on Genesis?
Great video 😊
Witcher 2 is still dirt cheap on Ebay, which was originally a well received PC game, but the popularity in recent years of Witcher 3 and that Witcher 2 was a console exclusive to the 360, have to wonder about that one?
Hi Pete, I only have about 10 XB360 games. I guess this is the time to get back into collecting while the games are still somewhat affordable. Thanks for the video.
Mid tier priced sleeper games for sure you're exactly right about. I've actually got a two month head start already before the announcement. Just went on a hunch in wanting more of the exclusives and uncommon and quirky titles.
Oh my god Pete!! Was just scrolling through videos and recognised your face haven't seen you for years hope you're good dude
When Super Nicktendo sleeps, Pete Dorr is awake! Thanks for updating me on this, been meaning to expand the 360 library for a fat minute. At the moment, I just have 5 games, but they’re solid enough to start:
-Alice Madness Returns
-Infinite Undiscovery
-FEAR 1
-Dead Space
The games I’m trying to find and (if not covered already) would love for you to recommend are:
-Lost Odyssey
-Operation Darkness
-Deadly Premonition
-Bullet Witch
-Ninety Nine Nights
-Too Human
Will be looking forward to your follow up vid on the topic!
I bought all the games I wanted when PS4/XBone first released and everybody was liquidating games pennies on the dollar. Good to know this is happening though, Ill have to go over my collection again just to make sure I have everything I could want. Thanks Pete. EDIT: There were a couple I wanted and didn't have, got them for a good price. Thanks again Pete.
There will always be people who don't know better that will sell for cheap on market place and such. Just got to put the effort in to find them.
Interesting video. With the PS3 store closure all of those games were trapped on the system so prices went up because the only way to play those games were if you owned a physical copy. However, with the Xbox 360 store closure the only games I anticipate to go up will be Xbox 360 games that have a digital version but the game is not backwards compatible with Xbox one and the Xbox series systems. Those games will be trapped on the Xbox 360 only playable in physical form and should see similar increases in value as the PS3 examples you provided.
Yes! Love this consistency Pete!
When I get a stable job, I want to start a podcast reviewing every single 7th generation JRPG and I don't have an Xbox 360 so I should probably buy an Xbox 360 and these games soon 😅
Appreciate these daily quality content uploads 👍🏽
Imagine weekly or biweekly uploads, this recent batch of vids could have been spread out so much...I hope Pete doesn't slow down or disappear again, a daily pace is a HUGE change from not uploading regularly.
2:16 that is so true. People will not care until the day it happened and then starts feeling sad because they missed out on good games
Great vid Pete! I'm not into xbox at all but still an interesting topic!
Pete's absolutely correct here. I'm an old git who's been around since the start of gaming. I still have all my original computers and consoles from the 1970s and 1980s. I never sell anything.
And as a general rule of thumb ALL Games/platforms have a sweet spot when you can find them around their cheapest and most prevalent and it tends to start at abouta generation and a half of age. In other words, PS3 now are still in this sweet spot as the PS5 is half way through it's cycle.
I've set all my buying bearing this general rule in mind. It's a great way to do things - I typically buy most of the games I want by around the end of a console's life. Then I wait until this sweet spot and pick up all the stragllers so that I complete all the games I want for that system before they go up in price.
It's a really valuable tool to bear in mind.
Great advice makes alot of sense to me
@@johngibson821 Thank you. Glad to help.
Great vid!
Should do more videos like this. Really interesting thanks
Good stuff man looking for the next one 😊😊😊😊
I got a lot of the games I wanted about 10 or so years ago when the 360 was still quite relevant and not as dying out as it is now, I’m betting a lot of the games in my collection will spike like crazy can’t wait, it’s for that reason why I did all this stuff about 10 or so years ago and lost odyssey is one of the games I own. It’ll be interesting to see what some of these prices will be at after the dust settles.
Amazing advice and analysis. Happy hunting everyone. Don't let it be stressful.
I picked up 50 Cent Blood on the Sand almost 7 or 8 years ago, I'd recommend it if you like schlocky 3rd person shooters.
Great video Pete
Very helpful
Great show I was reseller on eBay 10 years ago so I’m getting ready great tips I like getting stuff in the world or big lots but you know the rules Pete
I was going to procrastinate today but I think I'll wait until tomorrow.
please make a recommendations video. Would love to see both games that are backward compatible and ones that are not.
Yes please make a video of 360 exclusive pick ups
Yeah the prices are gonna get crazy once the digital store is gone.
I got lucky and picked up most of these games at pawn shops and Goodwill years ago. Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon for $3 each was a steal. That 50 Cent game is the only one you highlighted that I'm missing.
Tornado outbreak, zoids assault, Magna Carta 2, culdcept saga
Remember when 360 games were brand new they came with that Microsoft seal sticker on the clamshell? It was always satisfying opening them up for the first time...well at least it was for me anyways. 😂 Too bad they don't do it anymore.
Good insights as usual Pete 👍
Would love to see a video on the specific 360 titles you think will skyrocket
Man, as soon as you brought up Ridge Racer 6 😅 I remember when it was added to BackCompat I tried to find a PAL Region copy (any copy really) and i swear there was only 1 CIB copy on ebay at that time from the UK and it would have cost $200 before shipping... Decided to check again now and snagged a Mint CIB for $50 (free shipping) glad to finally add this one to my collection 🙌 (for whatever reason it was only added Digital on the American Xbox Marketplace, even after buying it on there it won't recognise the purchase when I swap the XsX "Region" back to Australia so I've just never bothered to keep it installed)
Been a fan over 10 years now Pete! Keep doing your thing
I just got NCAA 14 and Afro samurai on the 360 for $20 a piece. NCAA 14 is selling for $100+ online. I can only imagine how much it’ll be this time next year.
Of Orcs and Men is a Rare Pal Exclusive that you may want to keep an eye on aswell.
I have been snatching up everything that has been on my “I’ll buy it sooner or later” list for 7th gen. In the last month I’ve snagged AC4/5/For Answer/Verdict Day, all the H Potter games, Pinball Arcade, War Tech, Etc. prices are going to skyrocket
It is literally criminal that Lost Odyssey (and Mistwalker games in general) haven't been ported past their original release.
Lost Odyssey still looks incredible; it just needs an FPS boost and resolution increase
@dotcom721 That's backwards compatibility; not a port. I mean we need it to other consoles.
It's important to note, you'll still be able to digitally buy & redownload Xbox 360 games on current Xbox Live thru Xbox One & Series S|X if they're backwards-compatible.
The 360/PS3 era has SO many mid tier games. They had a big budget and the publishers of them expected big things from them ie franchise potential. Though for whatever reason it just never happened and lots of them ended up being forgotten about and didn’t sell a whole lot of copies.
I’m pretty happy with my 360 library and I’m glad I got all the Japanese shooters when I did as most of them age crazy prices now.
Another genre to look at is compilation games. Again they’re not the sort of games to have sold a whole lot of copies so are quite uncommon. Look what happened to the HD sets on the PS3.
I've thought of getting Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey before. Didn't know it will go up soon
Good lookin' out Pete!
Operation Darkness, still seems to trend around 70 for a complete NA copy. It's only going to get harder to find since literally no one cared about it when it launched.
Got almost every physical 360 game I want (especially exclusive) but great heads up vid w ton of intelligent points. Just from my gut, games I have and check my Collectorz program time to time expecting to jump on 360: Infinite Undiscovery, Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom, both Mistwalker games you described (LOVE Lost Odyssey own 3 CD soundtrack too), Splatterhouse, Raiden Fighters Aces, Onechanbara BSS, Alice Madness Returns, Tornado Outbreak, Capcom Digital Collection, Otomedius Excellent, Fist of North Star (Kens Rage has 2), Namco Museum Virtual Arcade. Those rare compilation ones I forsee being a lot because digital only games finally got a small physical release like Bionic Rearmed, or Splosion Man, or House Maequee's Outland...SHMUPs and Compilations are next to RPG as big price getters for obsolete consoles.
Imma be holding tight to my thpg & thp8. Also I got that tmnt out of shadows saved on my 360
Gaming market is a fascinating market
Great Pete ❤
Serious question. What is it that you think you do best?
Silly question. If you had a Rocket Launcher, One Rocket, and No Consequences, what would you shoot with it?
Please respond.. I really wanna know..
Top money games to watch out for:
Operation Darkness
Deadly Premonition
Ninja Blade
Darkest of Days
Raiden Fighters Aces
The Orange Box
Tenchu Z
Blue Dragon
Lost Odyssey
Zoids Assault
Culdcept Saga
Bullet Witch
Minecraft (seriously)
Good list, pretty much everything I thought of when I saw the video title, especially Operation Darkness. Only games I think I might add are:
Knights Contract
Driver San Francisco
Some other that I would add:
Tony Hawks American Wasteland
Lollipop Chainsaw
Wanted Weapons of Fate
Afro Samurai
Deathsmiles
Otomedius Excellent
Wet
@@yxlplig33driver is on other platform
All good shouts.
I’d also like to add some:
Gundam Warriors 1,2 & 3
Raiden IV
Elshaddai
Binary Domain
King of Fighters 12 & 13
Japanese shooters, there already crazy some of them, but shooters only ever go one way price wise.
Why Minecraft?
With how hyped Baldurs Gate 3 is, another Larion game Divinity II Dragon Knight Saga might be one to watch out for.
Love the 360! I’ve been collecting for them hardcore for the last 3 years and focused on the more uncommon niche games. My favourites are the rpgs and beat ‘em up games like fist of the North Star!
I could watch these deep dives all day
Pretty sweet and full game room behind Pete, must have nice to play all those games while your dad Jonathan Davis was away on tour😂
Lost Odyssey picking up in late 2016 might have been from Final Fantasy 15 releasing around that time.
I can see the physical copies of Metal Gear HD Collection and the SIlent Hill HD collection going up in price
I'm not so sure about that because of the mgs master collection releasing on current systems and silent hill HD could spike, then fall because its not really well liked
