    Great video. Nothing fancy here, just a properly done resole on some boots made to allow that to be done. This is why it pays to buy boots and shoes with quality stitched, preferably welted construction. New, these boots are around $375 US. A resole is a fraction of that. If you take care of the upper leather, there's no reason this shouldn't be able to be done several times with the bonus that you don't have the long break-in period.

    Hi Pablo. Nice informative video, I like your work. I have a pair of RW Blacksmiths that will need resoling soon. A couple of questions for when I take them in:
    1. I don't think the Blacksmith have the rubber mid-sole, they just sew the 430 right over the cork. Why don't you do that? What do you think of a leather mid-sole instead of the rubber one you used?
    2. If I wanted Montagne soles, what do you think about sewing on a leather mid-sole and then gluing the sole on so that the stitching doesn't have to go into the lug area, which I would think would look bad.
    3. Should I expect the cobbler to sew through the original holes in the welt? Should I have to ask for that special?
    Thank you for your time!
    Update: I watched your 875 rebuild, you answered my question about gluing on the Montagne, they look great. What about a leather mid-sole instead, would that work OK?

    • @dimarshoerepair
      @dimarshoerepair  Před 3 lety +2

      Personally I prefer leather midsoles. Rubber midsoles can add a little more shock absorption. Leather midsoles cost more, that's why Iron Rangers and Moc Toes come with rubber midsoles from the factor. I also prefer stitching a midsole and glueing the Montagna sole on top.

He must’ve worn them hard and laced them really tight. Great boots, i love my 8111. Guess it’s cool he went w black vs brown 430🤷🏻‍♂️ think only the women’s come w black soles right 🤔 can’t remember. Clearly I’m a boot psychopath 😂.

    You have a growing channel with potential. I think you need a B camera, to show close ups. Work on getting better exposures.
    You showed the same work on both boots, and sometimes you did not. Show each step on just one boot. “Second verse is just like the first.”
