đ»ââïž A bit about Felix:
Felix is a five year old samoyed from Germany and went on his first trip across Europe when he was still a baby. He is always up for an adventure, loves to explore new places and canât resists digging whenever heâs at the beach or in the snow.
Right now he is on a two year wolrd trip to three continents with our vintage van Daisy. Join him on his fluffy adventures to many different countries and donât forget to be as happ as he his :)

He looks like he's interpreting every mistake as a compliment to himself.
I would like to point out a common mistake I found out in dog rescue for this breed.
When you bathe these dogs, you have to be very careful to remove all soap. If your dog develops a hot spot a week or two after a bath, it's most likely you left soap behind. You can find out by putting a little water and rubbing the hot spot, if it soaps up, it's soap.
My routine was to dump them in the bathtub, completely soap them up, completely wash them off, drain the tub, and rinse them off again paying special attention to the armpits, and under the tail. If you leave the TINIEST amount of soap, they will get the hot spot fungal infection.
I found how to get him back when I unleash my Samoyed and he starts running away:
I run in the opposite direction, clapping my hands and calling him. Then he turns around and chases me, thereby coming back to me.
đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
My samoyed is well trained and 9 years old. He still outsmarts me daily xD
As a sammie parent myself, I TOTALLY AGREE with everything you said. Mine also isnât treat motivated and has a hunter instinct that overrides all training.
My Samoyed ran away from me when she broke loose from the leash. I ran after her and then threw a rock away from us. I looked at the rock, and then I looked at her as if I was worried she was going to eat the rock because it was such âdelicious food âthat I want for myself only. We both ran to the rock & thatâs when I got her. đ
Thank you so much. I appreciate your channel. I have a one year old Samoyed and your advice is so encouraging! Itâs so funny to see others talk about what my Samoyed does đ
Oops, I think you made a mistake explaining your mistakes in front of Felix. Now that he knows how you trick him, he won't fall for them anymore. đ
I thought the same! Lol
What a delightful couple with such a gorgeous pup! Thank you for being so life affirming & adorable!
If they pull and wonât heel, donât use a prong collar, just get a thinner chain collar. They have so much muscle up front they hardly feel a thick chain collar. But start early gradually training them to heel using reward treats & praise while on leash with chain collar for corrections only, not for yanking.
Oh my gosh thank you for this awesome video! Your baby sounds just like our and I could not stop laughing. Our sammy is just as stubborn and loves to bark. Only dog in the neighborhood that just stops during a walk and tries to PULL ME back home. Thatâs because he knows he gets a biscuit at the end. đ€š I too wish we got a personal trainer for him because he was the âdifficult childâ in puppy class. Just LOVE this video! Thank you!
Thanks so much for this video !! It is so relatable with our own experiences and good to know that we're not alone in experiencing this. Love this channel for the informative Sammy content and also your IG stories with Felix :) He's super cute!!!!
Samoyeds are just sooo...well no words â€â€â€â€â€â€
Its a lifestyle....
We love how you managed to train Felix to do the yoga and carry stuff. I have yet to train him. His recall is pretty goodâŠbecause he has sepration anxiety ⊠i usually just turn around and say bye byeâŠ.
Thank you so much for these amazing tips, I am thinking of having a Samoyed puppy, and this video is very helpful for me đđ
Thanks for this video and I can totally relate with what you shared. I have a 2 year old samoyed named Coco. He is neutered and this made such a huge difference in managing his reactions towards other dogs. My only challenge is he is not very good with staying alone for long periods of time. Iâd love to know how you trained Felix to stay in hotels or by himself for few hours!
Love Felix †as a pup he is so cute đ
Thanks for this. My Sammy couldn't be more different. Maybe its because she's female. But she will eat anything, loves veggies and fruit,
Mine too. Also female and eats anything.Pulls a bit when we start our daily walk but then settles into a better pace for us humans. But shes a lovely companion.
Setting boundaries is very important. Decide which areas of the house he is restricted to, whether or what furniture he can be on, and how he behaves with you and others, with things like jumping. Trying to change a dogs behaviour when they are older can be difficult and also upsetting for the dog if he is told he cannot go into the bedrooms any more, or sleep on the sofa.
Love these videos. Your boy and our girl are like twins hahah lol
I love your vids!! Sammys are amazing dogs. I called my Laika my Harley biker chick lol. If you haven't, you can try a pebble can or squeaker toy to get their attention to bring them back to you. If my Sam ran i would shake a pop can with gravel in it and the diff nose broke her focus. Then when she looked at me I would use a squeaky toy to bring her back. Idk if it would work but worth a try. đ
Our samoyeds have been well trained from birth. They are in shows so they have to adhere to the "rules". They do bark a lot. When we tried the squirt bottle, one of my females thought it was a game.
Hahahah 1000% relate to all. Need to know what you can expect from your samoyed. Don't waste time and money on group classes.
Well can be good for socialisation
My Sanmy is the same with male dogs. He can't stand them and try to start a fight every time. He too had that same interaction with a another dog as a puppy and haven't been the same ever since.
Im learning from you, my samy is 3 months age
How do you bring him on planes if you do?
their experience highlights the importance of research to understand the specific needs of a breed and how to properly train. A lot of these issues could have been avoided. It sounds like Felix trained THEM lol
I have one of those dogs and theyâre very intelligent animal you can train them just like a train mine to walk beside me without pulling and also weâre not to bark and went to bar. You could train the dogs to do that using water to put fear in him thatâs not too good my ex-wife used to use a broom, and I didnât know that and when I came back came back from South Korea and when I find out that what she was doing I push the broom down and start walking towards him and show him that Iâm a friend not an enemy so spraying water on him and the restaurant is not
i have a 6 years old husky and he also pulls and I got the perfect advice ... don't use a retractable leash and use a 2 meters leash ...they need space ....now he doesn't pull and if I use a smaller leash...he starts to pull.
Dog whisperer to the rescue!
Danke fĂŒr dieses tolle Video. Eure vermeintlichen Fehler sind typisch fĂŒr nordische Hunde bzw. Urhunde.
LG
I have a Samoyed so I understand everything you have mentioned. When meeting other dogs ( males in your case ) never let them meet face to face. Have one male sniff the bum of the other then vice versa. Robert Cabral who is a top trainer explains this in this video czcams.com/video/s0ruWzV_gR8/video.html

My dog is 6?
When puppy mouths u should have toys near by and I move them around and play with them instead
Pretty sure if I water gun my sammy he would go nuts. He is sure he's a fish or something, so it would only make him happy. He actually has a pool ans water guns for us to play with him lol
We used e-collar for leash and off leash training. It helped big time. We use the vibrate mode often and seldom use the shock mode in case of emergency. We were able to train one of our huskies to just relax when off leash and be obedient when on leash. But using e-collar is not for everyone. It requires discipline from the owner so that your dogs won't get hurt badly.
Anyways thatâs training with fear,
If your Samoyed bites you, Bite him back...YIKES
I think this is super interesting, I will say why not talk to a trainer about using and E collar or a prong collar or another tool to teach him better loose leash walking? Also if he doesn"t have a reliable callback idk if he should be allowed to run around freely lol that sounds like a recipe for disaster
also dog parks are known to make dogs reactive due to the fact that they can copy bad behaved dogs or that people will let their untrained dogs come up to yours and start reactivity early on
I'm sorry, you two seem like fine-looking people, but I wasn't looking at you, I couldn't stop watching Felix.
Helloo! I believe a head collar probably will solve that problem! You definitely should try it!
