Regarding the missing roofs, I recently learnt that some places have a significantly reduced tax on buildings under construction... So they just don't 'finish' them.
I love your travel vlogs so much evan!! Been watching them for so many years now and they are such a comfort watch for me. And since 2018 roughly the already amazing production quality has gone up 10 fold!! :)

Am guessing like many Med countries - you don't pay house tax until the property is finished ie part build buildings dont pay tax!

I am moving from Philadelphia to Porto this summer (no plans to return to the US).
Porto is indeed on the small side, but there is much charm to be found and it still feels like a city.
Glad you enjoyed your time there. Oh, and Sao Bento is not the main train station (it used to be), the main station is Campanha, about 2.5 km to the east.

You need to head to Pinhao for the best port.
7:30 - There's no south side of Porto, Porto is only on the north side of the river. The "south side", as you called it, is a completely different city called Gaia, which is a separate municipality and county in Porto district.
It's part of the AMP though, just like e.g. Almada in the AML.
@@LaPingvino - I didn't say it wasn't but the AMP or the AML are not administrative divisions like a municipality or a county are.
How'd you find a good hostel like that ? Previous exp of hostels is 4-10 others in the room witb and sharing showers 😬 but they are always such better costed
