I liked that part but im like 99% sure his dad was alive in the books and the reason they didn't have a real close relationship was there were a ton of siblings or something i cant remember for sure lol but it was quite the change for the movie

This is a great theme of a Father's love... Everything wouldn't have happened of the Professor's daughter didn't die or the two main character's father didn't came to help them
OK, it looked to be a good film until the end. They had a very good premise to begin with, and there was definitely room to expand on the lore. What a shame then that the film's ending seems to be a complete jumble, with story ideas left unresolved, questions unanswered, and the plot rendered almost incomprehensible. So when did they find out that the rem stalking Veronica was trying to save her, not kill her? Why were new rems popping up all the time? And why were some rems apparently stuck in a loop and couldn't affect the real world, whereas others could take independent action and change reality? And if Chicago was a 'no-go zone' how come there were so many living people getting in?
What I didn't get was the whole "we need to kill people so that they will be inhabited by a ghost" stuff, like it didn't make any sense and had no context with the rest of the rules and laws of the rems.
@@noahsalvio9649 the movies does fall flat at the end, but the "laws" taught about rems were lies, as said by steiner, the scientist who killed himself
@@MrMoopBoop Yes, and that has the feeling of a throw-away line entered by the writers to 'explain' all the inconsistencies. After I watched this, I went elsewhere to get synopsies of the film ( yes, multiple), and in every case, I ended up with the same feeling. This was that, from writers to filming, to editing, everyone was having a fine time making this film, then suddenly realised they had to make an ending, and quickly, too, and this made them panic as they tried to wind it all up. I wonder, if they had had a kind of 'two movie' deal over which they could have spread their story, how much of an improvement, if any, there might have been to this film's ending!
@@MrMoopBoop yeah I feel like the "laws are lies" thing is a fine explanation for the rem's ability to interact with stuff and the fact that they're reappearing, but definitely not the whole "inhabiting a new body" thing
German films have a habit of leaving a lot of unanswered questions.

This movie had a original idea, i am going to give points for that.
That was NOT a satisfying ending, answered no questions, oddly predictable, and shoehorned in some bullshit like kirk's dad unburying him. Thanks for saving me the 3 hours haha

Yea I detest lazy writing too. Movie seemed like it was pretty good until the forced ending.
Often times some of the best ideas end up having the worst writing, I think that’s probably because whoever wrote the script thought too much and usually has to dumb it down to make it fit into a movie. People who come up with cool ideas like this usually make better movies in their heads lol.

@@deadlandplacebo1695 Took me a while to figure this out too, but when it says words like "lead" as in lead lining as "lead" like I'm in the lead, that's a dead giveaway. It probably won't be long before these text to speak become so good that it is impossible to tell the difference.

It has been speculated that ghosts are linked to something that they didn't finish in life, like regrets anchor them to the physical world. So when the action is completed they can move on to the afterlife. Ghosts that actively "attack" might not be what we might think. There's a spirit realm, if there is a physical world. Just like every object has at least 2 faces (2D). A 3D plain has at least 3 faces. Hence the "limbo" of where the 2 worlds meet. So evil ghosts do exist and will act like a good till you drop your guard. Stay safe and aware of your surroundings.

I highly recommend everyone read the book over the movie because frankly, the movie Veronica is nothing like in the books and Bella Thorne is awful for the part. Richard Harmon did good and the whole suicide thing with his character was good for the movies, but the rest the book was way better

When I found out a movie was coming out I was so excited to watch it, but honestly the only thing better in the movie was Kirk's suicide plot aspect. The book was amazing.
