Do we check copy? Hickeys? Anyone want to look it over? What about sheet change? Change the size and you'll have to change the packing behind the coater blanket, takes about seven minutes.
Very fast and advanced machine, but ten jobs in hour? Great PR.

They all look great in the promos! Pressmen today would’ve been lost 40 years ago, doin everything by hand. I’m too old to do ten jobs in a week!

I’m 44 years in, 41 at the same shop, and I got an offer today that I’m gonna jump at. Can y’all believe I’ve been commuting 76 miles a day for 41 years? New job is 3 miles away. 😂

When running for quantity you set the day so you don't have coating changes or different sheet sizes! That's how production shops do it! No need to check sheet because rarely get hickies and color stays though out the run!! These presses are finely tuned for production!!

@@brianstrom6649 I retired 3 years ago..printed for 43 years... Old Crabtree Sovereigns at the start..65 inch presses, all manual.. then when alcohol dampening and consoles for ink management etc came in it was a whole lot easier..ran everything from a GTO to 6 colour 50 inch Komoris. I finished my career on a 105 XL 6 colour Heidelberg with coater and colour scanner , touch screen operation.. it ran at 18,000 iph ..heck of a press. We produced 3 times a day what we used to do 30 years ago with half the staff and a lot less physical effort. These promo videos area joke really.. no machine gets colour and fit in 30 sheets.. no tags in for the star up waste... not one sheet pulled to check anything.. and always notice no colour proof to check job against

Is the Presstek 75di not in the same class as this?
That press has direct imaging on press. Step ahead

We followed and helped Presstek UK - we had a 34di then the 52di and helped develop waterless ink sets to run on them, the 75di never really caught on, I feel it was simply too expensive. The next big advance will probably be sheet/reel fed direct jet printing with no plates or blankets etc. Retired now but a lifelong print operator, I watch these videos as i miss my machines ;) We had Solna, Heidelberg, Komori and then the presstek presses over the years.

@@TheKritter91 Its a fine press but i think overpriced for the market now. The 34 and 52 were a major advance in offset print, coming from older style presses with conventional or alcohol damping, both were a pleasure to operate, waterless is fantastic.

@@dave-j-k appreciate your feedback my friend! I picked my 34di up cheap at auction with only 4mil impressions. Actually excited even if im getting in to the print game small time hehe.
