You summed up all the good advice in the s series facebook group. I think with Vlog overexposing a little is fine because of the dynamic range allows you to bring the image down without losing quality. I shoot everything on my cooking channel over exposed by 2 stops using the spot meter and xrite passport. There’s no noise in my kitchen 😜
I see a lot of people saying most of this advice but I also see people making all these mistakes consistently too! Personally I expose juuuuust right or just a tad over but that’s personal preference
I guess many of us have got to the point about worrying if we are going get noisy images. In so many cases we have so much of other stuff to worry about and have so little time to fiddle with settings. I would rather being able to capture (noisy) image than missing the shot.
That’s my number one tab for iso for a reason. Just don’t care. In most situations nobody will ever know or care and honestly not only do most plants not notice noise but most probably don’t even know what it is if you explained it and pointed it out to them right in front of their face
Hey, thanks for replying! I'm shooting a bunch at night, and I've heard shooting vlog isn't as good as shooting a "normal" color profile, so figured natural would be a good place to start....

Did you use S5 to record that video ? 20-60 lens ? What is your AF settings ? ;)
I think this was GH5mkii and Leica 10-25 actually. Very similar performance using 1 area plus and human detection! Not bad but not perfect.

Here I was shooting at ISO 50 all the time.
It’s usually not a huge deal and it does reduce the noise but I like my highlights too much aha, hope it helped!
