Best tip: it's a game, tryhard is not the right approach to it(for most of us). Tryhard leads to quitting game, stress, ... But if you play the game the way you enjoy, you can get good results too but without stress.
Yes its def more stressful, but you will stop progressing at one point if you play only for fun, if your goal is to have fun its obv fine, but if you want to get really good at this game you have to tryhard, thats how you get better

@@jaredr9740 the best way to get better is to play your favourite tanks and just have fun. I went from a 50% 800wn8 player 3 or 4 years ago, to now even when I just chill can get 70%+ wins and 4k wn8+ (at tier 10 that is)
I started playing 2 weeks and I am already tier 8 and win or lose I really don’t care that much because I have so much fun playing.
Might wanna add 11 rule. Don't rush into playing Scouts. As one of the hardest classes to play in the current game. New Players oftne play LT's and don't know how to spot. ehhhhh
Even if you know and have good crew, passive spotting rarely works, with light and clown cars yolo and proxy half the games.

Tip number 11: make sure you always dm your teammates for every perceived failing after each loss because the small ego boost will ensure you will undoubtedly solo the next random battle.
Thanks for this; I've been the toxic player with the "incompetent teammates" for too long. Time to forge my own path, and be willing to take a stats hit. You're really helping man, thanks!

11. Learn how to best track tanks and get in the habit early of taking lots of tracking shots in battle. When I first started playing WOT I never intentionally went for tracking shots and it became a habit that was very hard to break. Even after I knew the importance of tracking opponents, in the heat of battle I often forget to do it.
I’m getting better at it, but I still miss a lot of opportunities to track opponents.
I wish I had developed the habit of tracking opponents in my first 500 battles so it become a reflex that I don’t need to think about.
When I started in 2012 it was kind of a thing where the best thing to do was to shoot a tank in the side. Likely to track and almost certainly going to do damage. It's changed a little, and now I track tanks but don't do damage, with same gun and rounds against the same tanks as back then.
It's still immensely useful, especially when you're not alone. Or if you're bottom tier and can't pen anything, just keep everything tracked.
I feel that sometimes I get damage horny and I don't want to track lol

Thank you. Great reminders. Especially thinking about tier awareness. I am fairly aggressive player and I need to remind myself to back off as a flip tier player. I also need to learn more about penetration mechanics. Going to look for that video.

Great tips, I wish this sort of info was embedded in the game somewhere, basics to help the new players. It’s so frustrating seeing your top tier heavy snipe with the TD’s. Your tip 9 is why I use xvm, so I can gauge how much I can rely on support from players.

And yeh I understand Tip 9 but at this stage of the game. I feel like WoT doesn't need Mods anymore. I play a bit more egoistically and try to not rely on my team too much. Yes it is more "toxic" BUT it helps me see my own mistakes rather then my teams. Again. I am the only variable in this game I can adjust!
@@RagingRaptor I have played since Covid startd I think nad my problem is that I rely too much of my teamates. And since they cant be trustedI become unsure how to play and end up doing bad. This is just because when I try to ignore them and play my game I end up against too many enemy tanks and gets killled
I like this video because is true at first i use to get stressful because i died a lot. But tbh now i learn and is fun when you play just for fun and you'll learn by playing for fun.
How about:
1. Ignore inferrior tanks from bond shop, use bonds for purple equpipment for tanks that fits you
2. Play tanks you are good at
3 . Don't play stock tanks, use free exp to unlock moduls
4 go to possition where you perform good, not where team expects you to be, as team are trashy in most of the cases
The only thing I don't like recently on playing lower tiers are the abusers/clubbers that can spoil the fun. And because I'm still grinding the Campaigns, I only go as low as Tier 6, if necessary o.0 I REALLY wish there would be a MM 2.0 in the future and somehow match skill levels better, but if you go by XVM stats, you can still have "wolves in sheep's clothing" who appear to have low stats but are playing in 2ndary accts o.0
One thing i do is watch my own replays, the good ones and the bad ones, see what i did well and see what i did badly and what to improve

You can't apply the scientific method to this game. Even the best tried and proven strategy only works half the times. It's 30 unpredictible players (or bots) plus RNG. One of the 30 gets a cabrio every game.

I should be able to! But most of the things don't really change. Just the trading positivly gets even more important and you having to do the right calls and moves.

Good video thanks for the tips. I have been away from the game for about 5 years and I have to say the game play has improved and the game is completely different. I have to brush up, i.e. get good, its embarrassing having top tier tanks, and all this play time and service record, only to play like garbage. Anyway, thanks again for the tips.

I never learned any of these things by having someone tell me in a video. I learned by doing. 7 yr of grinding and now I can roll out in my T-34-85M in a Tier 8 battle, and not be afraid.

What I'm finding with grinding or On Track etc, I usually get as far as Tier 9, and usually stop there, except with my Leopard 1, as I've said in many comments that I used to work on them, so it's "home" for me ;) I used to be scared to reaching Tier 10, thinking I'll be up playing against these uber unicum types. I found it's all based on the person behind the tank - whether good or bad. Still amazed I can hold my own at Tier 10.. sometimes ;)
RagingRaptor, maybe you can do a map guide series of videos? I still get confused on certain maps on where to go based on tank class after a long hiatus.
This is the best compilation of tips I have seen for the average player.
i just want to say this: RNG has a say if you try to hit anything, and you can do a battle where you shot aimed shots at weak point(like side or back of the t10 fv or back of leo 1 or su-130 from 10m aimed shots 2 times) and still bounce every single time it's makes you think about if you want to play this game any longer....
Jup when you drive within proxyspot range and still miss flat sides or bounce it or it absorbs the shell ... Server has alot of problems with lagg and such aswell
Trading up is something I never thought about. Obviously trying to shoot a JdgPz e100 with a t110e5 is just dumb but like the is3 and the defender i would have never thought twice about that.

You should tell players to increase the size of their mini-map and make it a maxi-map. It’s very hard to have good mini-map awareness when the mini-map is at its small default size. Almost all good players increase the size of the mini-map to nearly a quarter of the size of their monitor.
Mini map doesnt fix an RNG curse.
My favorite tip to give is try to shoot at spots that turn the center reticle green or orange not red. Also assess if you are alone or with team mates. If you watch QB and Skil there always seems to be one of their friends trailing them most of the time... I had a bad habit of fighting tanks I should have run away from...
I thought red reticle means more penetration?
Im playing the BAR td and ive realised its pointless to try to hide the tank. I went all camo perks, but still got spotted easily. I realized that i was playing my perks wrong, an just experimented, i changed my gameplay, took perks that sped up the tanks rotation an engine speed, an accepted im go8ng to be spotted. I ended up hitting 3k an above per game (when the team played correctly). I could even take on light tanks, since they could no longer loop me. Not every tank is built the same, but atleast for the BAR its meant to be a second wave tank.

Influencing the ''reactive'' players is a chalenge by itself, but it works sometimes. I call that the ''avalanche effect'' : you push and provoke an opening, or you flank in a position that is a sure death, but that makes your team move and you trade ALL of your hp for a victory.... if it works of course... I do sometime overestimate some tomatoes...

To correct your comment at around 19:04, you CAN influence the 15 other players on the enemy team, you can influence their HP to zero.

Tier IX is so much better but now WG made it impossible to earn bonds there (with the exception of daily missions). I think this was because WG knows tier X is trash and they want people to play there to spend more credits. Thanks for the tips RR!

Another tip: if you get shot by someone (especially if they haven't been spotted yet in the match) ping the map of their general position and write in a chat which tank is there. While it will take a 2-3 seconds of your time. Your teammates on the other side of the map will be relieved that they don't have to worry for now about that tank and your teammates on the same flank as that tank will know that they have to be more cautious because there is an FV4005 for example
when dead also, some people instantly just get out of the match after they death without telling where's the enemy

Tip 7 would be useful if it was possible sometimes to know exactly what your mistake was. I play cautious, I die. I play aggressive, I die. I snipe, I miss. I flank, I bounce. I die. I try one part of the map, die. Other part, die. Camp, die.

I only fire standard and high explosive rounds in my tanks because I am a free-to-play peasant.

Take some gold ammo as f2p, especially if the pen difference is big. If you can win a game with 3 gold shells shot vs losing with AP, those gold shells pay themselves back (and more!) by actually winning.
Once u build up enough credits. You do realise u can buy premium rounds for credits. Rather than gold
I’ve got 30000 games and have some tanks up to tier 10
Never paid a single dollar. Just grind away. Just under 50% so not a super player. But is still play and enjoy the game
Last 60 days playing tier 9. My win rate is 55%. It’s actually better perhaps cause some have a bit more experience as I was playing lower tiers for far too long

@@tontobb8956 maybe one day, when I purchased enough tier X tanks, I may, but at the moment, I need to play roughly 5 times as many games in my premium tanks to afford purchasing new tech tree tanks. If I were to spend premium round, that number would go to about ten times.
One question. If I dont have enough bonds to buy kpz 50t now, will i be able to get it later?
Another tip...learn from the mistakes of others...3 tanks go somewhere and die. Dont go there.

had to play the whiskey-120 stock and absolutely loathed it, but then i got the top gun and started averaging 2-3k a game, sometimes tanks just plain suck and others are hidden gems until you upgrade them fully
Tip Number 7 at time stamp 14:50 "LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKES".
A mature person owns their mistakes & learns from them.
An immature person points fingers & blames others.
BUT I do have to be honest. Sometimes in the heat of battle and with adrenaline rushed through you, you might blame others even tho you know it was your mistake. Example 1 is me, Example 2 is Vettel this weekend during the GrandPrix in F1 x)
To add to this: You make mistakes. Even when you win you still make mistakes.
You can never learn from your mistakes if you think the game is “Rigged”, accept that you mess up.
Then you can learn
request or idea for a video... I have hoping and waiting for someone make a video that focuses on which tier 9 tech tree tanks are better tier for tier then their tier 10 counter parts... (your bonus tip about tier 9 sometimes being the sweetspot seems to be of this same mindset)

Nowadays, battles are about pulling enemy tanks into team kill zone. There's no more OP tank or tank class. It's now, all about team work and map terrain tactics. Winrate in WOT sea is now equal to a players luck to get them free/kill shots, where a pro players skill is being taken avantage of. (COMMONLY KNOWN AS KILL STEAL)
Weird tip 11: 3 Mark the M3 Lee or M3 grant; everything else will be a cakewalk after that masochistic streak :p

How do you do spotting and tracking?
This game is killing me mentally. I want to love it so bad but I can't stop just getting farmed once I got spotted. I have no idea how to get better at positioning.
Whst modpack do you use?
I played 4 battles in E-100 a day ago (solo) 100% WR with 5.4k dpg. I don't really find that platoons help me but do keep in mind. THAT IS FOR ME. DO NOT TAKE IT AS IT WILL NOT WORK FOR YOU. Platoons for me are a fight for damage.

I can't find any guide how time you remain visible after spotted depend on camo level of your vehicle and your crew.
You miss what you don't shoot...yup you're right...and to your other question what do you have to lose, well you miss the shot, then get spotted tracked on the first shot and they destroyed before you can even move...so ya I don't shoot because all it usually does is give away my position and then I get dead! I will wait till I have a better chance of hitting
Guess who rushed in against tier 8 heavies in my tier 6 heavy. I used to lose but sometimes I get a guy who doesn't know how to use their tier 8 for some reason

what is the mod that was used in this video?
I play since 2012. But I'm like 10k battles in. I very often stop playing for a month or two and replay. But this time I cant manage to play properly with the current meta. I'm a TD/Light player and the 2 gameplays are soooo different than all I had to deal with in the past I cant manage to survive more than 3 mins and just manage to put shot into the enemy... I never felt so useless in WOT in this "15 - 5 /5min battels" meta.
Point 2 is what I want an ammo rework to be more around. Because now I don't always press 2 because I need the pen. It's usually because I need that shell characteristic too. Be it shell speed vs a fast light, or even less pen drop over distance. As my normal ammo drops too much at that range etc. And I've gotten a fair few rage PM's from EBR for "spamming gold" on them. And tbh.. don't care.

A fact I have learned from playing games: don’t watch video about the stuff u use
Example: I used to play this game on roblox called arsenal and when I first started I watched so many tutorials about what to do.
So like I watched how to face enemies. But you have to find your own game style and following tutorials makes you follow every tip on the game and not finding your own play style.
It is a game based on weighted random numbers with a dev that makes soft changes in the back end that breaks the game. A dev that lies to the player base regularly. A game dev that deliberately introduces broken OP premium tanks now to make more money.
How about play/move with your team so many out there completely unaware what their team is doing....or they watch as their team dies instead of trying to help in some way...
Im trying to adapt but its hard...most of the time I go Rambo style!

Rule 11. Autoloader syndrom. DON'T empty your clip if you got shells left. Treat it as a single round. Hide after first shot if unsure of you'll get spotted or not.
And I've known about rule 7 for years. But I can't seem to learn from it. :D :D
That is True aswell! But yeh Rule 7 is also hard to really accomplish! But it is a great thing if you learned from it :)

You do have to remember that you are 1 of 15. You don’t have to be everywhere doing everything, let your team handle it. They need help, sure, help them. But use your team. Don’t push a flank all by yourself and then complain when it doesn’t work.
great video , but i still don't get it how a 135 pen gun cannot pen a 100mm armor on straight line..... said this there are a lot of cases where the lower armor is not pened and don;t tell me it is the angle , the angles are always straight line into the target and the target is flat af , vk 30 on the side turret is flat AF and still did not penetrate , no matter what the angle it should be .
Can you do this with wot blitz, would be nice to have tip's for it .
there is just one WORKING advice: start contributing into wargaming's hawaii holiday account. then rigging will work for you and nobody will see or hit you let alone causing damage while you can onehitkill everybody without aiming. simple
My biggest problem is when 95% of the team go to one side should I run with the stupids or try to defend the weak side I most time defend and die quickly
If you have an overpowered position where you can sit and defend than its fine to defend, but if not, than always go with your team, clear one flank and than go back and ping base like a madman and hope people turn around for a base def
Me knows where to penetrate tank enemy...so i aim well then shoot..
dang...shell flew away in a wrong direction...looks like shell got a wing and scared to hit a tank enemy...looks like a friendly shell lol...so i quit...
Also, stick with your team and DON'T GET IN THE DAMN WAY! Pay attention to who is around you. If you're rolling a T-44, don't get an Abrahms killed off because you just had to stick your nose in. Help them out.
