All credit to their creators. What I'm sharing is my personal game file with some extras not found on the main VP Modpack download (www.sas1946.com/main/index.ph...) page.
What's the purpose of this? I'm sharing this for those who don't want to go through the hassle of installing everything from scratch. This download includes the main game, so you don't even need to have the game and you will not use your own copy of the game. Just download, extract and play.

How do you extract after downloading to my computer?

That's odd. It's working just fine on my end and I'm sharing the exact same files. Try downloading and extracting again. Copy the game root folder to another location. Avoid copying to Program Files. You can also try to ask for help at the official mod thread by sharing your log file, the mod author will know what errors you are encountering. But it should work perfectly. I suspect a mistake on your end must be the cause.
Dude thank you so much for this - IL2-1946 was dead in my Steam library, super easy install just got some Q's.
Do I have to use the launcher every time? I just want to copy the files into my Steam and it won't recognise the launcher.
BTW IL-2 Wings Of Prey is on sale @ GOG it is the complete version (All DLC + Patches) and you just copy the files into Steam (The Steam Version is riddled with Yuplay garbage and not fully upto date.
I got IL2- BOS too and it not yet blown me away even with 4K textures I may Steam refund high up the scenery is not much better than 1946 tbh.
I always use the launcher but you might be able to run it with the game exe. I recommend you War Thunder over WOP since they are from the same developers and WT is the culmination of all their previous games. As for BOS, the game is way too overpriced for the content it offers and is very limited, I rather play '46 offline and WT online.

Hello! I'm sorry but idk where else to ask but, what is the difference between Forgotten Battles and 1946? Does 1946 have more content overall? I ask because I've acquired a version of IL-2 which I thought was 1946, but the .exe file is named il2fb.exe. The loading screen also shows the Pacific Fighters, and PE-2 dlcs, so idk really. Again, sorry for bothering you.
1946 is all the previous IL-2 Sturmovik releases in one package, including Forgotten Battles.
Are these links recommended below over the SAS Modpack most importantly is it safe?
They are 100% safe. I can't recommend this to you over the SAS Modpack because this isn't meant to replace it. Is just an alternative. All I'm doing is sharing my copy of the game modded with VP Modpack plus some extra stuff, some of which you would have to dig through the VP Modpack thread to find, like the Japanese and Russian 50/60kg bomb skin fixes which are not included in the main patches.

@@PedroKing19 4.12 with a modpack. Is not really outdated. Even 4.10 with mods is still being used. 4.12 just happens to have more mod support than 4.13. But apparently that's changing.

How do I get rid of the sounds. I tryed to install Jivers sound mod but the sounds are still there and they are not really good. other from that FANTASTIC

Not more than one of the big mods that overhaul the game can be installed.
I've done everything like your instructions, but when i press "start IL-2 now", it doesnt load at all
The first thing to try is to redo the installation again following the steps again.
Hello, a few days ago I've successfully reinstalled the game, turned out it was a resolution problem, fixed it in the conf.ini file. So thank you a lot for this, everything is good now. But i have a couple of question:
1. Is it possible to install other planes to the game with this mod? (Btw i also did installed the jetwar add-on mod, it also worked really good) but I'd like to install more planes, preferably, the B-52
2. Is it possible to remove the mod (incase i want to try other mod like the SAS one)? In other words, can i somehow turn this to a completely stock game, with no mods?
@@BlaBlue Bla Blue 1. Yes is possible. In fact, this download includes extra planes that the original download doesn't, such as more Ju-88 and He-111 variants.

I have installed and reinstalled with 7zip and Winrar. Whenever I "start IL-2 now" It loads for 1 second and closes immediately. Someone said its a resolution problem, how do I fix this please and thank you.
You edit the resolution in the config.ini file.

Try re-installing. Follow the steps.

26 mins to download it and run it. Run like a charm! ;) Note for Win10/4K users: before launching game edit first the config file with your video res and right click on the launcher icon and select both the checkbox under " DPI Settings " ( or the game will launch with a wrong screen resolution )

I have problem when extracting the folder everything extracts but the Ngen and tthe others executable will dont extract except console.cmd
Are you using 7zip? Follow the instructions step by step.

I just want to play a game not download a bunch of stuff and get confused, also a still imagine dosent work it's it makes it 100x more confusing 😭
Is pretty straightforward, I mean, you just have to do everything step by step, pretty elementary.....

@@growlanser5600 there's a folder called selector inside there are several il 2 application file like il2fb, il2fb watchdog, but none of them launches the game just stop at starting il2 screen.
