OMG! I just had it installed... (took me 2 days for all the 30GB) and its awesome! I just need to do the updates and then I am good to go. maan almost 10 years I only had stock IL2 and then IL2 1946... and now I finally get a mod to work. It is sooo great, no joke, I had a tear ;) I love this sim. gives me a good feeling when studying for flight school in real life :)

Got everything to work with this mod, quick mission builder and every map to work, this is mod i will rather use than BAT even tho bat had many more stuff to, yet vp mod pack is a hella good mod with better graphics, thanks my homie
It's important to start from a *clean* Il-2 46 installation, which *must* be done in a folder *apart from Program Files* in your HDD. For example C:/Games/Il-2 1946. Unless you'll have the Windows folder write protection that will ruin your hopes of making this mod useful...
I fixed it, on steam I downloaded the version 4.12.2 directly, to do this uninstall it and delete the steam folder for the game (fresh start). In your steam game list right click on Il2 1946 and click on properties, move to the "betas" tab and select 4.12.2 and download it. This will remove the need of installing the patch required to the right version and then you just simply copy the mods as instructed (don't forget the change the .ini and always run the game trough the selector)... It worked for me... Hope it helps
VP is a great pack, use it all the time. I don't think I've had a single crash or glitch with it, other than sometimes it takes a couple tries to get the initial load up going, but CUP does that as well. From 10:40 onwards in your video all I get is sound and the VP load screen. Maybe in the future, you could do a vid on simple mission building??
WAY better than BAT. BAT has a lot of content but has so many crashes and glitches it drives me nuts. I gave up and installed this. great mod. Thanks Steven.
Update: re-installed the steam version with the beta, no difference. I can see the “Starting” Icon with the F-86 or wtv the Jet is, and it just quits immediately. Anyone please help.

Copied the files to my documents just like you in the video, got the megapatch and installed it, tried to run the game once and no luck the splash start screen flashes then the selector pops back up. Hello Steven, Thank you for your excellent video on the installation of the VP Modpack. I completed the installation as described and it worked out. I have a question on how to run the VP Modpack along with other Mods, such as carsmaster's water mod that allows excellent water effects , or the graphic extender mod. I tried to Install and run carsmaster's water mod from GSJME application that is usually used to activate different mods, but sadly it did not work out. I also tried to put the water mod file into the #SAS file that came with the VP Modpack, but that did not work out as well. It would be very nice, if you could give a tip, Is this (at least basically) the right way to add other mods onto the VP Modpack? Cheers, Max

Is this pack compatible with BAT? If yes; Is it perhaps possible to make this file available as a torrent? If I download all the files individually I get a download time of 1.5 hours for each file...

Ok I found the error: My computer (for whatever eason!?) did not allow me (The user) all rights to edit files etc. Somehow I was not entered as an admin. I changed that quickly and gave me all rights. Works perfectly now :)
After downgrading my IL-2 do I then download the main Il-2 VP modpack folder from where it say's "Download here" on the SAS site when clicking the link it takes me to a European website to get the folder ( this is before downloading the 16 parts) I just want to know so that it's safe to proceed.

Selector won’t appear after extraction need a response ASAP, been fighting with this for over three hours, close to giving up, BAT was easier than this
I far prefer this over CUP. VP is all about a set standard of quality and just the WW2 era of planes. CUP is more of a throw everything into a bucket approach. There's far more stuff, but not all the planes are of the same standard. It's more content at the cost of being a bit messy and all over the place. CUP does have some pretty cool stuff so it's worth trying both out.
Wabbit Yeah really love this mod. Cup is cool and all but it's a pain and seems more of like a movie-making tool. I really love everything in VP. makes il2 my favorite game again.
Misha dedogist Now, I don't even know. I've just been checking out the CUP WaW module and it's also excellent. The sounds are the best of any mod, there is a crazy amount of content and the quality seems much higher than the Jets module. The only real downside is that the maps in VP are of a much higher quality. Guess I'll have to keep both installed.
Got an issue here, when I select start IL-2, it loads the sabre jet but then it just takes me back to IL-2 Selector, tried it again a few times same results don't know if its my pc or I'm missing something..
The shitty steam version somehow didnt work for me.. I downloaded some GOG torrent from tpb and after install it was 4.11.1m, I applied the big patch that is mentioned in the first parts of the video, after that it was just as simple as downloading torrent for the VP modpack (dont do the separate downloads unless you re crazy or you re a caveman living in early 2001), installing it, then patches and its done

I have clean version 4.12.2. I copied the files to my Il2 directory just like you in the video. But there is still problem. When I turn on the selector, it starts the opening screen and then it will crash and start selector again. Help me please ...
@@Steven197106 Thanks, I fixed this problem. But there is another smaller problem. Some maps dont load (predominantly pacific maps).. It reports an error. But I'm glad I can play at least some maps... :)

Go to IL2 1946 folder. There is folder missions and there is folder name Quick. Just rename folder quick to QuickQMBPro and then quick mission builder working.
I did everything the video told me to do get a clean game use mega patch and downloaded Vp Modpack, but when I am loading into the game before the main menu, it loads to 60% it then kicks me back to the selector with no error message I don't know what to do. Can you help me?

Whenever I try, it says "The compressed (Zipped) folder is invalid of corrupted." Part 8 is a rar file, so I'm really not sure how the "zipped" folder is corrupted. Please help! Thanks

Downloaded all 16 parts and then don't have a clue what to do with them. 001-016 don't open or unzip. BAT mod was easy ,this one is a pain in the arse.

In that case, can I just copy- paste my game folder into a different directory and delete the CUP and SAS Modact stuff? Apparently CUP does not change any content in the base game and so my reasoning is that if I delete those files I should be left with a standard 4.12 install... any help please?
followed the video to the fucking letter, and yet launching any of the mods from the selector only launches the game for a second before crashing back to the selector
I created the log, but now have a different problem. I can launch with ultrapack enabled, but none of the content, aside from the loading screens and some of the effects, are there.

I launch from the il2 selector. It tries to load the game but it doesn't and just shows me the selector again.

Followed instructions to the letter...could only get to 60 per cent on splash screen, then pfffffffffft...nothing. Any clues?
7zip can't extract the parts. It says "unexpected end of data", so I think these files are corrupt.
Guess that you'll have to download these files again...

you haven't met the requirements for the mod, i would install the f-18, f-16 first.

Don't open it, just save them all to a folder, then extract the 1st part to "VP Modpack.7z"

go into multiplay and you can fly out 4 different b17s, just load a normal aircraft like a sptfire up and when you spawn the b17 press f2
i deleted all my files and downloaded a clean version to try it but it didnt work, it wont even load
Edit : nvm i found out my file wasnt put in the correct folder lol. first mod to work ! :)

QMB needs patch1to4 to be installed.
Just change the name of missions/quick to QuickQMBPro It works

When I try to install the mega patch so I download the modpack. I downloaded all of them, but when I tried to run the application part it says "archive is damaged or missing. Please help

@@Steven197106 I Have a new problem. I managed to download the megapatch, and I started download the parts of the VP modpack, but I can't put vp_modpack.7z.008 into my folder for the parts. Whenever I try, it says "The compressed (Zipped) folder is invalid of corrupted." Part 8 is a rar file, so I'm really not sure how the "zipped" folder is corrupted. Please help! Thanks

@@Steven197106 i fixed it, but yet another issue! I extracted the part one. Everything was going well, but when I press start IL-2 now on the Il-2 selector, it just reopens the selector. Sorry for asking so many questions, but I'm almost there. This will probably be the last question

Downloaded all 16 parts and then don't have a clue what to do with them. 001-016 don't open or unzip.
BAT mod was easy ,this one is a pain in the arse.
put all the files in one folder and open vp_modpack.7z only
@@Steven197106 I've first got to thank you for replying to a comment on a 4 year old video..Second ,I was having a helluva time using Winzip and getting nowhere fast. I downloaded 7zip and I seem to be getting somewhere now; the files seem to be extracting at long last.So thanks again.
@@Steven197106 Update.:01:15 am ,2 days later...I finally got the mod to do something,but it seems buggy and unstable...Landscapes load in weird for example or I'm getting crashes to desktop and JSGME always fails to work and crashes.So fun and games,without so many games. I'll keep it on for a while and mess around with it at some later stage,but meantime I'll go with the BAT mod.Cheers.

In that case, can I just copy- paste my game folder into a different directory and delete the CUP and SAS Modact stuff? Apparently CUP does not change any content in the base game and so my reasoning is that if I delete those files I should be left with a standard 4.12 install... any help please?

I created the log, but now have a different problem. I can launch with ultrapack enabled, but none of the content, aside from the loading screens and some of the effects, are there.
