COMMON QUESTIONS:
- Why are you so orange? I do not fake tan, it's the filters on my camera and they can sometimes turn me warmer than I am depending on the light, although I am quite tan naturally in person (I'm Italian)
- Do you bleach your own hair? HECK NO, my hair dresser does it all 😅
- How old are you (were you born in '83)? I was born august 3rd 1994 (currently 25), the "83" in alexasunshine83 is for 08/03-83! Basically alexasunshine was taken 😬
- Where are your vines from? Amazon 👉🏻 * go.magik.ly/ml/nmmq/
- Where's your bedding from? Urban Outfitters 👉🏻 * go.magik.ly/ml/nmms/
- Why do you thrift? To stop my consumption of fast fashion due to the horrible treatment of workers and the negative environmental impact of waste fast fashion produces. I recommend the documentary The True Cost 👍🏻

I say go back for the yellow one, soak it in oxiclean (the yellow is probably mostly age) and then collab with a sewing CZcams to alter it to exactly what you want!
L Catt love this! With April or Wendy😱😍😍
agree. with april or wendy!!
If it's silk, don't use OxyClean!! It dissolves protein which is what silk is comprised of. It will ruin a silk garment.
Agree!!!
or maybe take it to a professional and see what they can do!
I am just slightly surprised you never thrifted for a wedding dress before. I accidently found mine in Rome, it's 90 years old, and I have it for like, 4 years now, waiting in my closet, for "the one". For sure saved me a lot of stress :))
Oh, that's interesting! I'm not sure if I'm ever gonna get married, but I kinda want to thrift a wedding dress just for the fun of it lol
That is such a dope strategy. Wish you the best! 💛
I want to see it ! I really want to see what A 90 year old wedding dress looks like ! 🤤
this is the coolest wedding dress story ever !! My grandma actually made my moms wedding dress completely from scratch and it’s just little things like this that make the dress all the more special 🥰💖
I got mine thrifted
If you have a specific vision of the type of dress you want and you can’t find it thrifted: don’t feel guilty about buying it new! Like you said there’s memories attached to it and it’s a once in a lifetime thing. ☺️
The first dress you tried that was off the shoulder was so beautiful.. you could have had it hemmed to a mid length?!?!
YELLOW DRESS AT THE START OOOFT YES
😅😅
Try on everything you find! ALL wedding dresses are altered even/especially NEW ones. For a $60 price tag, you are way ahead of the game. A seamstress can remove or shorten the train, shorten the length, bring in the bodice, adjust the neckline, fix the fit of the sleeves... basically make the dress custom to you. BTW the wedding dresses you are trying all have been fitted once already so if something seems off that's why. It's super rare to by one off of the rack.
Please try on all of the colors. I'm curious to see you in a blush gown. So excited for you 😊 and I can't wait to see more wedding dress videos. 🧡🧡🧡
I was thinking she should have tried the silver dress in the last store!
I cried a little when you didn't get the rainbow jacket.
Also, thrifty girl tip: I just got married and wanted to have a sustainable dress but I found it really hard to thrift one! What I ended up doing was going to a traditional dress shop and once I found one that I loved, I looked it up on Ebay and was able to buy the same exact dress used and I saved myself $500!
#protip fr!!!
That is what is killing small businesses. They provide employment and keep money circulating in the local economy. You wasted their time and resources.
Kerry Day but she saved her time and resources (money) small businesses should better fit around and support the consumers if they are struggling :)
They didn't even say it was a small business though? The majority of bridal/formalwear shops are large chains now a days unfortunately. Supporting small businesses is great but frankly most people can't afford a "wedding dress" anyway. The wedding industry is a scam anyway. So respectfully get bent 😂.@kerryday
Wait I love that yellow-ish dress! I didn’t think I’d like it when you first pulled it out but it’s so prettyyyy
don't forget you can get it altered cheaply. We have had minor alterations done on formal wear for reasonable prices.
I've never had a wedding, but I did thrift a wedding dress for my debutant ball and gave it to a friend when she got married, so it was well loved and recycled ❤
I'm way off from getting married (single) but everyone has already asked if I'm going to thrift my dress, as 95% of my outfits are thrifted. Definitely gave me hope.
Yalll admit, as soon as we saw this we clicked on it.
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 you are amazing
@@alexasunshine83 hi Alex just an idea what about finding a dress that u really love most of n fixing the things u don't !!love ur videos
The yellow dress with the long train from Savers is the prettiest dress I’ve ever seen I wish I could find something like that near me😭
I didn't buy a wedding dress for myself when I got married. I found an adorable dress that I could re-wear and have probably worn it a handful of times now to special events. Even if it's thrifted, you'll still only wear it once if it's a proper wedding dress so I say, find a dress you love and will reuse! Looking gorgeous as always!
I am IN LOVE with the first dress you tried on😍😍
Edit: you should grab it on a 1/2 price day, then have Carrie, Jessica, & Leah help you flip it to make it more your style/fit you better!!
WAIT!
This is kinda low-key brilliant. I'm engaged (not getting married any time soon, but you know) but on a budget...Why didn't I think of this before?
Brilliant!
You are 100% going to look gorgeous on your wedding day! ❤️❤️
Ive always wanted a ecofriendly wedding(not that im getting married soon) and the possible problem would be dress shopping. If you cant find a wedding dress at thrift stores, try buying at sustainable brands that makes one or have it made using a sustainable fabric. Love from tha Philippines ❤
You could always try a resale shop where people “sell” their dresses to the business and they then sell them! That’s where I got all my high school dance dresses and they had so many one time worn weddings dresses as well! (Not sure if that’s sustainable but could be an option!)
Im a simple gal. I see Alexa, I see thrifting, I see wedding, I click. All 3 at once fills my lil heart with joy
👏🏻👏🏻 well done hahaha 💛
@@alexasunshine83 I totally have wedding fever rn and I'm living vicariously through everyone who is experiencing it now. So happy for you!
"I feel like a princess" girl you gotta go and get that dress! Have Jessica help you flip it? Your reaction to it was priceless!
It looked like Belle from Beauty and the Beast.
Alexa: “it’s 85° out”

GIRL that first one you loved was amazing. You know you could always have it altered and the train taken off!
For sure! Ah always will remember that beauty
I got my wedding dress second hand too! It turned out so pretty and I’m so glad I didn’t spend thousands on a dress that’s sitting in my storage unit !!
hi!! i just wanted to let you know, if there is a salvation army thrift store nearby they have gorgeous wedding dresses! (at least the one near me does) the dresses are in there own little section even though there was only a few. it may just be for the one located near me, but just a suggestion :)
neila maureen Salvation Army is hella problematic and homophobic though... 🗣so if you’re gonna shop there please shoplift🗣
Lily Jones oh i had no clue of that.. :(
Yeah that’s why I never go there 🥺
Alexa Sunshine83 wow i really didn’t know of this. i’m definitely not gonna go thrift there anymore.. thanks for telling me :(
Wow didn’t know that about Salvation Army. My dad loves it because back in the 80s he got very sick overseas and he was broke. They flew him back to the U.S, paid for his flight and paid for his medical treatments. Always says he wouldn’t be alive if it weren’t for them
Many people are commenting on how "yellow" the first dress was. But this color (which I would say is more of a soft gold) is not due to aging but has been a popular color among brides for quite a while. Pure white dresses did not enter into fashion or popularity until around 1840 and before that gold was a popular color among royals and the elite class.
I can’t wait to see the final dress you pick out! You’re gonna look so gorgeousss!!
Definitely don’t shy away from slight colors, especially if you’re wedding is already non-traditional
So glad you are thrifting or vintage-ing your wedding dress. My relative just paid $6thousand for her dress alone. There is just so many items you need when you set up a house like a house itself! You are being more mature and financially responsible. In the 1970s I paid $125. for my dress. Since then, four brides have worn it then I donated it. Money well spent. I wish you luck and thanks for letting us tag along. Hugs Donna 💒
I saw the title and I already love it 😍
Can't wait for your actual wedding day 🌈🌹
You look bomb in all of those and I’m sure you’ll be such a beautiful bride!
😭💛 thank you love !
I can’t wait to see vintage wedding dresses on you! Congratulations!!!💕
Omg I've been patiently waiting for this video since you announced your engagement
I'm so excited💛💜💚💙💖
omg yess I’ve been so excited waiting for u to make this vid !!💖
i love how happy you are! your excited lil smile is adorable
I'm recently engaged and already found my wedding dress at a Goodwill for 16 dollars. IT'S A DREAM. Keep trying! They're out there! Thrift store wedding dresses for the win!
Loved this ! Can’t wait for more 💘💘💘 you’re going to look beautiful in anything !!
I purchased a vintage 40s wedding dress from Etsy for $100, and I love it so much, and am so happy with it. Whenever I show pictures of my wedding to anyone their first comment is always to compliment my dress. There are also a lot of Etsy sellers that have a return policy if the item doesn't fit, in case that's what your worried about, but I tailored mine before the wedding for a perfect fit, so don't stress too much about the fit, cause it can always be altered. Or if theres a part you don't like or want changed, like removing the train, or shortening the hem so it can be a midi, all of that stuff can be done with a good tailor.
You should get back and get the yellowish off shoulder one! It's so beautiful, you could always get it just in case you can't find a 'better one'!
girl i just had a dream last night about finding a wedding dress at a thrift store and then i wake up to see you posted this? incredible, we’re on the same wavelength or something
YASSS the video we have all been waiting for! 🎊🎉🎉

Starting a new life with someone is one of the best things in the world and the fact that in today’s world you can get them from the thrift store is amazing 😍 great video
That savers and goodwill in riverside are my home thrift stores nice to see those on the tube. !!!
I love this video! My cousin actually thrifted her wedding dress from a goodwill (roughly 8 years ago) and I was her Maid of Honor. To this day, her dress is still one of my favorites I’ve seen and I’ve been in several weddings. Thanks for sharing this and keeping such a positive light on thriftiness! You inspire me so much!!!! Love your outfit in this video!
I do some thrifting on my channel and it’s because YOU INSPIRE ME!!! Thrifting is SO FUN!!
That first yellow dress is easily one of the prettiest I have ever seen 🥺
OHHHH MY GOSH I didn’t know you were getting married or that you were even engaged.CONGRATULATIONS CONGRATULATIONS CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've also taken the mother of the bride's veil/ headpiece apart and made a headpiece for the bride . If your thinking of wearing the old borrowed thing.

My moms wedding attire 27 years ago is totally something I could see you rocking. A knee length mid rise pencil skirt with a Lacey beaded cami tucked in and a blazer!
I was so waiting for this videos! ❤️❤️
Literally you’re so gorgeous!! Love your videos!! So excited for you! 💕
That first dress was so pretty!!! I tried Soooooo hard to thrift my wedding dress! I went to a bunch of different stores every weekend but never found the perfect one. Such a fun video!
ive never been this earlyy😍😍😍 my favourite thrifter❤️❤️❤️
This video was so perfect and I love the sustainability behind thrifting a dress you’d probably only wear once !! (What a concept lol) also loved the editing :)
I can not think of anything mire Alexa than a denim wedding dress hahaha. I was so giddy and excited during this whole video! I’m so excited for you 🥰
I love the yellow dress so much omg
I highly suggest looking at vintage shops for your wedding dress! I am personally not a fan of modern styles so I went to a vintage wedding boutique and they had so many amazing dresses from so many eras! I tried on dresses anywhere from the 20s to the 80s, and ended up with a beautiful dress from the 50s that I am so in love with. Good luck! You'll know it when you find it.
Omg that dress with the ruffles gorgeous! Makes me want to fly to Cali to try to find it for myself!
Yay! Congrats! Great start! 😁😊🥰
Writing this as I sit on break in my retail job, Thank you for quality content!! I always have joked about thrifting my wedding dress eventually and my mom always rolls her eyes haha.
😭😭😭 I appreciate you soooooo much!!!!!!! Honestly your mom would be shocked at the gems you can find !!!!!! Especially when you
Compare those prices 😉😅
I got married in 2017 and wore a blue eveving gown from reformation, i still love it so much and i can wear i again 😊
I am so excited for this new chapter in your life. You will find the perfect dress.
Genuinely living vicariously through you, I always look at wedding dresses at the thrift. I hope you find one! ❤❤❤
😅😅😅❤️❤️❤️
So excited to watch!
Yay! Appreciate you here !
ahhhh this is so exciting :') can't wait for the next video about this too!
I love your videos sooo much you inspire me x 💗
😭😭😭
Congratulations! Hope my experience helps you choose your special dress. Yesterday I finally hit the weight that I was when I got married 24 years ago, so I tried on my wedding dress, which I made with the help of a friend. It wasn’t fashionable at the time and it isn’t now, but I looked and still look so timeless (and, to my surprise, then and now, fantastic) in it. I chose a style to suit my figure and I still would choose it today. I look back on my wedding photos and yesterday’s with complete satisfaction. Of course, what counts even more is the loyalty, love and unselfishness that you both put into your marriage, but hey, enjoy getting ready for your wedding! It’s a wonderful time!
Congrats on your engagement! I’ve been subscribed to you for like 3 years now and it’s so cool to see how far you’ve come! This was a fun video!
You have!!!!! Wowie! Thanks for sticking with me !!!!!!
Girl you look amazing in this video!! 😍😍😍💞
I have been waiting for this video!!
I bought my wedding dress in a vintage wedding boutique, it was such a good experience. It was a small, at home shop and the owner collected the dresses from all over Europe and sold them for very realistic prices, mine was around 430 euro's. Would highly recommend it to every bride around the Netherlands looking for a sustainable, cheap and unique dress:)
Deseret industries thrift store in Fontana has a whole section full of wedding dresses definitely worth checking out I saw them the last time I went and thought Alexa NEEDS to come here!
So happy for you Alexa.
I can’t wait to see you find one you really love ❤️
I have days off on sundays and wednesdays so I always can look forward to Alexas uploads 😊😊
I love the yellow dress
In my area the thrift stores save a ton of formal dresses in inventory for prom season, so they don't start putting them out on the racks until like April or May when kids start planning for prom
I LOVE your nail color 💅🏼💗
Omg this is so exciting! I’ve got this on my list of videos to watch tonight. 🌞🌞🌞
Consignment shops tend to have wedding dresses. The Lily Bee on in my town has a whole room of them. Antique shops sometimes have vintage dresses and I know eBay has vintage dresses too.
2 things! If it’s too big it’s really easy to get it altered for a reasonable price, if you don’t like a specific part of the dress but everything else usually you can change it really easy at a tailor ( removing the train etc)
I was so excited for this video. Don't worry, your dress will find u.
Really like the idea of thrifting a wedding dress! I never thought of that before I bought mine! I know it’s not a thrift/charity shop but I’ve seen some quite nice ones in TK Maxx before (I’m in the UK but in America I think you call it TJ Maxx) x
The first ruffle one looked so pretty on you!
me from the future watching this knowing you got married in the shirt you are wearing in this vid = 🥺🥺🥺
🥲
This is such an original idea and was very entertaining to watch!
Reformation wedding dresses are gorgeous
I found my wedding dress at a thrift store a few months ago for only $50! It’s the perfect ideal mermaid dress that I’ve pictured for awhile now. I hope you’re able to find your wedding dress soon! ♥️
Congrats on your engagement. Not sure if your Goodwills do this in CA, but where I live, the Goodwills have a special bridal event once or twice a year. They pick a location and bring the wedding and special occasion dresses there for like a weekend. That might be why you aren’t finding as many??? Worth doing some research on. Can’t wait to see more wedding videos. ❤️
