He bobbed and weaved those questions like he was in the ring.
literally dodged every question
Pretty sure, one man he had fear/doubt against was Vitali.
true
fiendin281 He didn't dodge Klitschko, he retired. Klitschko was almost 32 years old, Lewis was approaching 38. Everybody has to retire at some point and if the WBC continues to mandate fights when will it ever end? Lewis fought Klitschko on 10 days notice and would have been well within his rights to turn down the fight if he had wanted to duck Klitschko. Lewis wasn't in the best shape, having fought only twice in the last 26 months and his career was coming to it's natural end.

You are really one of the few who have common sense.
Siggi Jackson Thanks Siggi. Lennox should be appreciated a lot more instead of being subjected to cheap shots all the time.
Lenox Lewis would've made a magnificent politician with his constant dancing around questions
Juan Ramirez He lost his accent
Pure arrogance. "Who did you hit the hardest?" Hasim Rahman. "Who hit you the hardest?" Uh..I don't know, I mean there's so much adrenaline in the ring..I don't know." Every other heavyweight from that era is man enough to answer that question, but not this arrogant prick.
Infinity161 or maybe he's just being honest. And to be fair, he did absolutely nail Rahman.
Yeah, he talks a lot but says nothing. As for being scared? He looked petrified during the first 2-3 rounds against Tua.
Well, you go be undisputed HW champion of the world and call it "arrogance". You will never be on his level with anything you do so how can you speak about how high an eagle should fly if you're a chicken? Top atheletes have that aura about them. They truly believe they're the best that has ever done it, which is why they succeed. Look at the Mayweathers, Jordan, Alis etc. LL truly believe his hype and backed it up.
he hated every question asked..Mike would've told the truth even if Lennox was in the room.
Yeah Mike has a personality.
I cant stand watching this dude give interviews. His ego wont allow him to honestly answer questions and it speaks about his actual character. For someone like him to have such a low level of humility is disappointing. ANd this is coming from a HUGE Lewis fan. He was my favorite heavyweight of the 90s and 2000s.
Tyson going to jail for rape, sniffing coke and not giving a fuck is what made Lennox and Holyfield great because I truly believe if he was focused the greatest would be a debate between Tyson and Ali and mike might’ve never lost
Casual
What did I learn about Lennox from that interview........ (cue the sound of crickets)
hellovanite his mom was beating shit out of him
"My Mother" ~ Lennox Lewis
Good one :)
Should of went pound for pound with David Tua instead of runnin the whole fight
I think we know what would happen if he did lol.. I just wish Tuas corner made adjustments
Ike did it and give him the his L.
@@biggteez12 with dat boxing lesson Lennox lewis gave him you all wanted much worst for him.
CJ J lenox was smart and picked his punches and kept his distance, if lenox wasn’t playing smart and actually going through for a scrap, tua would win no doubt😂 he has a chin that’s just hard to take down, tua took his hands, mike tyson couldnt😂
@@slingshotdon lol ike was on roids lmao shut up
lennox is like a politician never answers a question
I met him while I was in Jamaica He is one of the nicest guys in the world
Mike Tyson said he knew at the press conference that Lewis wasn’t scared of him.
This was a big man who was effective and efficiant. He could box outside and inside was ok on the move. Only thing bad is he had heavy slow flat feet. I think a lot of people under estimated his reach and size! That long Stiff Jab followed up by that short right cross punching downward if you got passed that he had a killer left hook! He never gave up after a loss mark of a true champ. Lennox Lewis a true Legend
Yeah, he was able to make that work for him. He proved he was a champion.
When Mohammed Ali retired he said he wasn't the greatest and he complemented many boxers and gave them props and that made him even greater. Unfortunately, boxers these days are too pity to do that. I understand other boxers were there but still.
Muhammad Ali had a very big personality. People who have personality don't mind making fun of themselves and complimenting their opponents unlike some people. You know
Lennox you were my all-time favorite boxer. I think you told the truth, what you did in the ring inside, and out speaks for itself.
He was a very good heavyweight, but he can send you to sleep without throwing a punch
Except for Vitality Klitschko apparently!
😂😂😂
So basically, hes not going to answer anything
Lovely man....great, great, champion.
And this is why I respect Mike Tyson more.
you respect a rapist and a man who beats up women? cool. He got his ass beat by Lennox anyways
Stealth 75 no that’s not what he respects , he respects the fact that he did those things and came back a better person . He went through war to find peace and that is something that only survivors do . Did he abuse those women ? I don’t know , it was a controversial case to say the least . But it doesn’t matter , mike did his time and paid the women off as well . He has found peace and put his ego aside . Lennox (as much as I love and respect him .) clearly has not .
extra diplomatic.
I like Lennox. I was a huge fan of his back in the day as a kid. He came across classy and charismatic.
But I really have to say, he's not the greatest public speaker out there. And that charisma appears to stem more from his appearance, calm tone and accent rather than the content of his speech. He didn't appear to answer any question honestly.
I would rather listen to Tyson. Anyone called Tyson. Fury, Mike, Ethel. Yep, Any Tyson, Any Day.
Lennox never answers a question lol
very humble
"Which planet do you represent? Earth? Mars? Saturn?"
"The solar system."
Fuck!! He didn't answer a single question. He obviously is not being honest with himself. He never felt a hard punch before that's bullshit!
Great respect for Lennox. Peace brother.
This is why Tyson was wayyyyyyy more liked!!
And respected
Don’t beat it around the bush and spit the truth
He was at my gym the other day. Couldn't have been nicer.
Legend.👏👏👍👍
Lewis sounds like a politician never gives a straight answer.
Lennox is a class act and was a great champion.
Lewis the GOAT. Beat 14 champions and sounds like he never took a punch....
Great fighter
Damn Lennox skirts through his questions like a MS
Intelligent courageous and humble.
+Tom Quinn sarcasm at its finnest.
Earnie Shavers huge puncher. George Forman huge puncher. Tyson huge puncher. Joe Fraizer huge puncher. Gerry Cooney huge puncher. When Gerry Cooney fought Forman in Formans comback he landed some heavy bombs. Forman said after that fight that whenever Cooney landed a shot it was like a bomb hurting everything on his body.
jerven200 Cleveland Williams before the shooting
dont put tyson in the same sentence as shavers and foreman when talking about power fella, he was nowhere near their level for raw power.what he had was explosive fast power that looked spectacular because it knocks alot of people down. foreman and and shavers could put you through a wall!!
Lewis was deftly afraid of the Tyson fight, until Manny reassured him it was going to be one of his easiest. The sole guy who got in his head was obviously Vitali.
Tyson paid Lewis a step aside fee to face Evander. Lewis was the number one contender and took Tyson to court over the matter.
People dont appreciate how good this giant heavyweight was, a true pugilist specialist an exponent of the art, a 31 yo Lewis would wipe the floor with anything today
"Canada, Jamaica, England?" I'm glad someone called him out about that shit.
true champion...
I know one fighter he feared Riddick Bowe. I dont like fighters who can't be transparent. Tyson is a great example of transparency.
Like A Seasoned Politician He Ducked Every Question.
He's too guarded and proud to give a straight answer. A shame, would have liked to have heard the real answers. I suspect England and Mike Tyson would have been 2 of them.
Class Act
A bright, bright guy. People who are critical of him are riff - raf Tyson supporters. Tyson's recent autobiography was an excellent read. He spoke mostly of his recovery and self - analysis. These are two very different men. Lewis and the Klitschko Brothers reaffirm that you don't have to come from a ghetto to be a bad ass fighter.
tho i hate fury
but i think he is the only famous boxer that answer the questions with direct answers
and always speak the truth
His run from david tua was different to how he normally fights. And thats facts 💯
The rematch with Vitali Klitschko would have been a huge fight. There's a reason Lennox Lewis chose to retire instead.
Keith Braggs because he didnt have anything else out there aftef easily ,decisively dismanteling klitschko! klitschko owes his life to that official lennox 3 uppercuts unanswered that enabled klitscho to see directly behind him ansd upside down!
There's a reason Klitchko was never even knocked down once. He took whatever Lewis gave and gave back more. He was winning on the cards and that cuts saved Lewis from losing not only the fight, but tarnishing his image as the best. So he retired, rather than face him again. He was terrified of Vitaly, evident in how he would go to fights backing whoever klitchko was facing.
Vitaly had Lennox right where he wanted him, was up on the cards and rocking him. Why didn't he fight him again, then after retirement he sides with whomever a Klitchko was fighting? He knew he was beat, and would get beaten worse if there had been a rematch. He ran away.
Man, Lewis was 38 years old. He should retire already!

Watch Tyson Lewis legendary night lewis said he did want meet tyson in the pros he said he was an animal. Another documentary talks tyson betting up Lennox Lewis bad in sparring. But at the end of the sparring sessoion said Lewis was hanging with Tyson. Holifield told the truth he said training with tyson in the olympic trails . He said Tyson seem invisible everything he did was perfect Holifield told truth of what he seen
Garrett Of course, everyone was fearful of a prime Mike Tyson
So perfect that he didn't make the team, losing to Tillman!
arthur garrett the funny thing is Lewis was a pro before Tyson was I believe.holyfield same time Tyson had started.but by the time these dudes got to the point where they were on fire and getting popular.tyson who was younger.was already ahead of them.took them how long to get where he was already.come on those guys can brag about beating Tyson all they want.tney got him when he was nothing he used to be by not doing shit right n surrounding himself with people who had no right being even close to training a heavyweight champion.facts are facts.if they met a well disciplined trained Tyson by Rooney n the others that helped make him.no chance in hell for those dudes.
@arthur Garrett. Lets do the maths shall we. Tyson won the title in 1986, Lewis won amatuer gold at the 1988 Olympics........
j.c.m hard core metal fan Yep, exactly. People try to say Tyson was "trash" and "a bum" because of his losses to Holyfield, Douglas and Lewis.
By the time Lewis accepted a Tyson fight, Tyson was already finished, way past his boxing prime. Physically, mentally and spiritually he was a beaten man at that point in his life, nowhere near the focused person and boxer he was in 86-88.
I'm convinced that no one in history could have beaten that 86-88 version of Tyson with Kevin Rooney in his corner. He had the shape, he had the mental clarity and heart, he had the speed, he had the power and he had the hunger. He was the perfect storm for those couple of years when he peaked.
Classy guy
Answer the questions Lennox...SERIOUSLY.
I will answer that hardest punch question for lennox....Hardest punch Lennox Lewis ever took? The knock out punch by Rahman
You can’t live without fear
I can think of one VITALI KLITSCHKO
Yup.. he felt the skill and power.. he retired right after.. didnt give the dude a rematch .. he dodged a big one for his career ..
Too politically correct. He's got an opinion, just didn't want to offend anyone. Your old and retired. No one's feelings are hurt. Answer the questions!
I respect Lennox he is a true champ
Disappointing to not hear lennox lewis give respect to his opponents. I thought he was better than this
Boy he dodges more questions than a presidential candidate? Wow 😳
It takes talent to take so much airtime without making any sense.
I think it's cos he doesn't talk smack. Pretty much everything he says does sound rational and logical. When h breaks down fights.he is obviously smarter than most boxers
This is why he is so disliked, so dishonest.Retired from boxing and still trying to posture ....
Rozelle Monroe he's still the undisputed champion of the world... he's retired and do you know what I most admire him for? he stayed retired!! One other point... Ali said that there was only one better fighter than himself... Lewis! xx
Philip Marchant Ali also said the same about tyson.shit Ali even went as far as saying Tyson would have won against him in Tyson's prime.so I wouldn't take what he said to be true
Rozelle Monroe TRUE DAT BRUH
Disliked by whom? He is arguably the best HW of all time. I think he would have beaten Ali.
So disliked? Well I for one thought he was brillant and a gentleman... He was a great fighter no doubt about it .
Lennox was a great champion pity he did not carry over that focus with him in answering questions.
If you aren’t going to answer a question, then what’s the point of the interview.
ah my thought was the same as his about canada, jamaca, england.
The GOAT
Great Questions,,,,,,
C'mon Lennox, boxing wise you are one of the best heavyweight fighters in history. But the way you dodge questions was like how many perceive your style in the right evasive and un-entertaing.
I have better answers for all those questions
Hardest he ever hit anybody = The Tyson Knockout (no disrespect he was finished in the ring)
Hardest he's ever been hit = Rahman (interesting he thinks his hardest punch was on a guy who bested him once)
The opponent he quietly feared = Tua
He really couldn't answer who hit him the hardest? What a tool.
c'mon lennox. who hit you the hardest? I know about adrenaline but you could still pick one. just one. after he fought vitali he said "man he could hit". so for now I'm going to say vitali hit him the hardest.
drepop803 it Lenox said Hasim Rahman on best I faced Ring magazine
Biggest puncher he faced was probably Shannon Briggs. Not the best guy he faced, but Briggs had phenomenal power.
He answers questions the same way he boxed...cautiously.
And Mike Tyson was sitting right there. Wow... Legendary..
class
By dodging even the simplest questions, Lewis sounds deceptive.
When asking Lewis who was the hardest puncher he faced? We can all pretty much answer it for him...Both guys that Knocked him out.. Rahman and Mccall
He fought the most top rated fighters since Ali and beat just about all of them
He DID beat all of them.
Muzaffar,You must be british.Lewis was heading for a big loss from Vitali Klitscho, but it was stopped because of a huge cut on Vitali. And when he fought Tyson,Mike was probably 20 per cent the fighter he was. When Tyson was in his early twenties he was unbeatable and would have hammered Lewis,Tyson lost everything but his power, all those wonderful skills, the constant head movement, lost everything by the time he fought Lewis.Lewis was a good heavyweight though
David tua 💯
ike Ibeabuchi....my uncle had this nigga SHOOK most of that top 10 heavyweight division in the 90s was shook of my uncle
Tyson !!!
Scared of Tyson. Took a polar expedition in the amateurs to duck Iron Mike until he was washed up. Scared of Vitali. He got his ass kicked that entire fight and won on a cut. Rematch? Hell no. He knew how that would have ended.
He didn't answer one question he's tiptoeing around that shit
Someone was for sure on his mind
dissapointing every answer was guarded!
What a politician lol
omg this guy even after retirement is so cocky...
wanted to say never answered a q but smersh beat me to it
i read once he said Gary Mason hit him the hardest - and the only person who ever beat Gary Mason was Lennox Lewis
This guy never gives a clear answer, Tim Bradley is always honest
Lewis was about the same skill level as the other good heavys in the era,Vitali,Rahman,Holyfield.Foreman,Tyson were in another world,Foreman took Holyfield 12 rounds when he was 46 and gave a good account of himself. Its a shame Tyson was fucked over and leeched by everyone,he could have been even better if he had a better mindset
Holyfield was in the cruiserweight division when Mike was at his prime
He forgets that he retired rather than give Vitali a rematch
Lewis is easily a top five all time heavyweight, but there are four men that are consistently better than him. Ali, Foreman, Holmes and Liston. Even so, he would consistently show well against these me. Lewis is an excellent heavyweight, but not perfect.
what happened to his accent?
Did we get one solid answer?
Two words - RIDDICK BOWE
Lennox Lewis haters in the comments go figure it's ok though best resume in HW history
Oliver McCall knocked his boots off
Licuidt Snake it's how you come back from your losses that matter
Guys got too much ego to give anybody else props.
Fuck me his answers were dull. And he wonders why we all loved Bruno
Vitali Klitchko.
