Unrelated topic but I REALLY think u should try out the Tronsmart mega pro. Imo it is the best $100 bt speaker, even better than the soundcore u reviewed in that price range.

Stem style earbuds were around years before airpods. I dont know why we give apple so much credit.

Because, like almost everything Apple does, it does it to a mass market, then suddenly, it is the way it is. Apple never invented the MP3s, but after the iPod took off, a whole new market exploded. Apple re-invented/invigorated the cell phone market with the iPhone. The BlackBerry was stagnant.
