One of the towering Motown productions from 1973 with the perfect synergy of instruments, tempo changes, the glorious Eddie Kendrick's falsetto with La La, Las or the Ah, Ah, -Yeah Yeah Yeah - (the Pips -like chorus) or the drums and pianos signalling tempo changes, and the horns propelling the song forward along with bass and drums. I have listened to this song about 15 times recently and it is a sublime piece of funk with all the moving parts working in tandem creating a mighty groove that won't quit. I understand why this track was such a massive hit in the discos. If you can't shake your groove thing to this then you don't have a pulse. The original edited version never was a big hit, but that's because the song doesn't start to unwind until about 4 minutes in, and then it takes flight. The unnamed musicians deserve the highest praise for this joyful jam Don't think that Benny Benjamin or James Jamerson played on it, but whoever the musicians were. Thank you, Thank you! This is what music can do. Gordy was right: It is indeed in the groove that counts.

Grateful to have pristine white label promo of this album. It's among my treasures. When I needed to sell off records in the past, I wouldn't let that one go. I knew it would be very difficult to replace it with one in the same condition.
As much as I pick David first and Eddie second while within The Temptations, Eddie had the best solo career of anyone from the group. He needed to emancipate.
