  • Introit for the 4th Sunday After Pentecost, Dominus Illuminatio Mea, presented with rudimentary phrasing suggestions (green is "bigger" phrase, red is "smaller" phrase).
Important note: the purpose here is to provide a basic interpretation that is textually and melodically sensitive, bringing out the meaning of the chant in an engaging yet accessible way for the parish schola. This is not a scholarly semiological treatment. Don't like it? No problem. There are as many interpretations as there are semiologists and schola directors, so feel quite free to ignore this if it doesn't suit your scholarly understanding of "correct" interpretation of chant according to your whims and research ;-)
Mea culpa re: a bit of pitch loss by the end and poor placement of a few consonants. You'd think I'd be better at following my own direction ;-)

Blessed, a thousand times blessed is the help your chant instructionals have been for my soul and my singing, Patrick! God reward you and family. Continued prayers, as promised.
P.s. Optimistic for 5th Sunday after Pentecost video!
