    Benjamin (benji) Wilson. He was was ranked as the number 1 high school player in the country in the 80s and was also the first player from Chicago to win that honor. He helped his high school Simeon vocational school win their first championship ever. He was also 6’9’’. He received numerous scholarship offers from schools such as: Illinois, dupage and Indiana. You most likely never heard of him because in his senior year in 1984 he was tragically shot and killed . People were left wondering what would could been if he didn’t get shot and played college ball and in the NBA .

    lebron and its not close why cant people just accept that the more "modern" the era gets, the better the overall players are? You see the best pg's in wilts era? cant even dribble better than demarcus cousins and they do this for a living. Sure, the new era aint as physical as the old one, but since they cant play bully ball as much anymore, they have to settle for something we like to call, skill.

    • @universalplayz7496
      @universalplayz7496 Před 3 lety

      Why do people like you act like the rules were the same for dribbling like if they played with the actual dribble rules everything a current player does would be called for carry so they needed to use different tactics to play and the defense back then was a lot more flexible then it was now back then you go in the paint u get bumped and bruised with no fouls here you get fouls without even contact and people do things like “drawing a foul” like the fact people try to gain fouls instead of just playing doesn’t really make the era better like there is no need to disrespect previous eras.

    • @billj4525
      @billj4525 Před rokem

      I do think the more modern almost any skill or game gets the better people get, but because of that sometimes people don't compare modern players to older players because of the advantage of being a modern player. That's actually why you can't accurately compare past players to current players. Even if taken into account MJ was so good I still think he's the GOAT even if accounting for the modern game. Him and Lebron are the GOAT if you try to compare though in my opinion.

      Lebron had the hype, but he also had the work ethic of an MJ. He optimizes his skills. Even to this day he practices and tries to improve every day. His teammates say his whole life revolves improving his basketball game both individually and team wise. His work ethic combined with talent is a big reason he became as good as he did.
