Always
I love watching your videos and especially enjoyed the T-34/76 or the ISU diorama you did some time ago!
You're one of the best modellers I know to date and your projects always have been a huge inspiration for me.
This video is a bit special for me, as I wanted to get that set myself for a diorama, but ultimately decided to make my own destroyed T-34 from an ICM set I had laying around.
So seeing one of my favourite scalemodellers building something simillar is quite the joy for me :)
Thank you very much!
Really neat experiment Rick. The idea (T-34 wreck, farmer, 1946) was yours, but the AI not certainly added a lot of flavour.
What is going to be scary is when a publicly-available AI tool will be able to generate .stl files based on user input… you’d be able to have it digitally sculpt figures, upgrade parts, maybe even full models.
Let the debates and arguments begin! LOL.
Do not surrender your creativity to AI. It will sterilize the artist in you.
No intention of surrendering my creativity. However, I think it's worth looking to know what it is, and perhaps how it can be used in creative pursuits.
That’s a load of crap lol. That’s what people said about graphic design software and CAD just a few years ago, and 3D printers now. This line of thinking is illogical and trust me there was even a point in time where it was thought that books were bad for you when printing became widespread and people spend inordinate amounts of time reading. Advances only ever enable artists to become more creative and not less
Good luck with that.
Interesting approach regarding the narrative. AI can be used as a tool, as all other tools or apps. As long as we can control the process.
And that is the point here. It's going to be around, and so how to we learn to work with it.
Great start!! This AI can make great kickstart to artist’s like you for builds not from photos witch is still osom :o
Glad you like it!
Hey Rick,
Recently found your channel and love the videos!
The rust looks good!
Have you ever looked into the citadel paints? Its mostly for the warhammer kind of building but they do have great paints.
I personally love using their '' Typhus Corrosion'' textured paint with a dry brush of ''Ryza rust'' over it.
AI is always a very good tool that can help you with a lot of things. But you usually already have a idea in your head.
I think in this case the narrative from chatGPT helped you form the image in your head the same way as reading a good book does.
Hi. I'm familiar and have used Citadel paints, but not those you mentioned. I agree with your assessment of the use of AI and books.
That rusting look came out awesome. Interesting concept of using AI to enhance visuals and images.
Thanks!
Hi Rick, sorry for the late comment to your rusty video, I have read books, about rust techniques
On tanks, and car models, but to watch a video, about building up the layers, is a lot more impressive, the diorama is going to be great, keep up the fantastic work.....
Thanks, Marin.
Interesting video, Rick. Do you consider hairspray chipping superior to sponge chipping, or look at them as two different animals? Also, which wet pallete are you using? Thanks.
Hi Charles. They are two different methods that sometimes generate similar results and perhaps can be used interchangeably. However, generally the results are unique to one approach or another and so the choice of sponge or fluids is really dependent upon the outcome one is looking for.
Hi Rick
Great piece of work mate!
Maybe you should do a 2nd edition of with or without (AI) but personally I would rather give you all the credit. 😂😂😂
Looking forward to seeing your next segment on the diorama ❤😊
Thanks, Michael.
Super
Thanks.
What’s the number/name of that vibrant orange acrylic color?
I used many colors, probably Medium Orange and/or Ochre Orange - AK GEN 3
@@RickLawlerPropaganda thank you!
While ChatGPT came up with a nicely written intro, it was based upon the idea that was already in your head. I doubt that very little, if anything, that you have done in the way of painting, composition of the diorama, selection and posturing of the figure have anything to do with what the AI spit out. Don't worry, you cannot be replaced.
Thanks, John. Yes, most of this was already in my head, but the description was much more than I would have come up with.
Good to use AI as a tool to give you some ideas and get through the modellers block
Hi Zal, thanks for watching.
I am an advocate of using ChatGPT to enhance what we do.
It's a tool like any other.
Cool
Thanks, Lewis.
Computers have always been a tool or an aid to us humans. I guess A.I. has the potential to help us expand our own creativity and imagination. Does A.I. have a place in modelling? I'm sure it does. It's up to us as to how much we use it and that we don't become reliant on it. It's a brave new world.
Yep...well said.
Looks great! I need AI to finish my diorama I’m trying to finish! 😅
Unfortunately, you still need to do the work!!
@@RickLawlerPropaganda : (
Very interesting thing. But with AI I will be very careful. Nobody knows, what it will do with us. ;)
Probably take our souls....!
as regards AI: 1/35th scale modelling and diorama building isnt a paint by numbers set, unless you want it to be.
I'm pretty creative, no need for I here, thx
Thanks for the feedback.
When AI replaces artistic creativity, we should put on our VR headsets and pretend we are making models.
Nothing like actually touching plastic.
Getz… J.K. Rowling is lucky she wrote her Harry Potter stories before this AI came into being…🙂
True.
Please don’t promote this for this hobby, it will destroy it.
I'm not promoting, nor advocating AI. However, it is here and becoming a part of our world.
AI will make society as a whole...more stupider. 🤔
We'll find out soon.....
I thought I'd try ChatGPT, based on your experience. But when, just to 'try it', I had to create an account, and provide personal details; I got concerned. (as in, where will this information wind up?) After verifying my email account, and providing those details, it asked me for my phone number and wanted to verify it, as well. Now I knew that I didn't want to do business with them, as they'll have my name, email address AND phone number - SPAM-City! It's not worth it... Screw those guys
Sorry Rick, but this is NOT a valuable VLOG entry, it's a dangerous one.
Interesting...I didn't need to do any of those things. I simply went to the site and typed the prompts.
