But don't be mistaken: most of the incredible amazing quality funk and soul straight out of the USA of that time was NOT in the clubs in Amsterdam. Funk and soul bands like Maze, Bar-Kays, Change, Cameo, Slave, Kleeer, SOS band, Gap band and so on were not commercial or popular enough. In a nutshell, not your year of birth is the problem but commerce and bad taste of clubs are your adversaries.
