  • Hello and welcome to my latest tutorial.
For the weave, I'm using 0.315mm/28awg wire and for the end caps, I'm using 0.8mm/20awg and 1.2mm/16awg.
I'm weaving over a pencil, feel free to use whatever you have handy, something thicker, like a marker pen would be good for practising the weave to get you started.
Have a large pin handy and your wire cutters.
Part 2 will be coming soon!!
I no longer put links to tools on here.
    The tools I use are:
    • Tronex needle nose pliers
    • Tronex short round nose pliers
    • Tronex razor flush cutters
    • Prestige flat-nose nylon jaw pliers
    • Beadsmith bail pliers
    • Occasionally I use tronex bent nose pliers
    • Occasionally I use heavy-duty wire cutters
    • Occasionally I use xuron needle nose pliers
    • Bobeeze bobbins (medium size with no extra weights)

What a wonderful design Kelly. I haven't been working on my wire weaving for over a year now. I had to give my ole hands a break. You have always done such a good job with your tutorials and this one is top notch. So proud of how far you have come as I have followed you for many years now. Keep up the good work and thanks for helping to keep this beautiful art form alive. You're the best and thank you very much.

Thank you so much Kelly!!. For me this was a refresher since I have made several necklaces with color wire but I needed to see it again from the beginning. I am looking forward to part 2. Take good care!!. ♥️

I’ve always struggled trying to start a Viking weave. This may have deem what I needed! Thank you.

I've been making Viking Knit chains for about 10 years and this is absolutely the best instruction video I've seen, especially for the end caps! I generally hold my daisy in place with painter's tape rather than wire, but it doesn't matter much. Thank you SO MUCH!

I'm really looking forward to seeing how you oxidize this! That is not something I've figured out with Viking Knit!

It’s beautiful! I was wondering how delicate it is? Also, would you want to lightly hammer and harden the clasp and jump rings? I’m always afraid something will come apart and disappear! It happened with an Argentium silver grandmother’s bracelet I made for my sister in law. I had to make her a new one and she wanted everything soldered!

I made this with copper and it’s very sturdy. You can hammer if you like, make sure you close all your jump rings and everything is nice and tight 👍
