Largest City in Canada : Downtown Toronto Rush Hour Walk (October 2022)
VloĆŸit
- Äas pĆidĂĄn 14. 10. 2022
- The Financial District of Toronto is the central business district. It is bounded roughly by Queen Street West, Yonge Street, Front Street and University Avenue. The district is Toronto's most built-up area, with major banks, corporate headquarters, accounting firms, and a system of underground walkways known as PATH. I walk through this area during the evening rush hour, and saw tons of people on the streets as they ended their workday. I start at Union Station and then make my way over to the rest of the Financial District.

This was a vast contrast from NYC . People dress better , they seem calmer and the city looks cleaner and people talk now that's kool đ .
Thank you nice text
Maybe a bit calmer but still serious. We are much low density.
@@torink8229 I donât like this vibe to be honest just like the Netherlands to serious
How do people in Toronto dress better than New Yorkers???
New York City is the fashion capital of the entire American hemisphere!! đđđđ€Ș
Of course Toronto is calmer because it has 6 million less people than NYC....lol
Toronto compares to Chicago not New York City. London compares well with NYC because both have over 8 million people and both are packed with amenities far more than Toronto and Chicago.
It's the best thing of city to be clean
Watching this with no commentary, with just the ambient sounds of the street was good for me. I was born and raised in Toronto and lived there for most of my life. I miss walking the streets.
Where do you live now
Where do u live now?
Come also to Uganda
A rather busy day for Toronto rush hours scenes ....it resemble a bit of Manhattan....Good vblog AK...thanks for bring us along....regards from Kuala Lumpur Malaysia đČđŸ đ
A big thanks from all of us for coming to visit Toronto, AK! We hope you will be back some day. You get top marks for the number of walking videos you put out; well done!!!
Glad to you filmed the activities during rush hour and I'm impressed with the cleanliness on the streets. It was nice to see some old buildings, and we also got a glimpse of the sunset. đ Thank you for sharing this ASMR walk, AK! đ€
Some of the city streets can be clean but I always manage to spot litter on the busier ones on my commutes.
@Jenny, trash in Toronto and trash in New York are different things; watch AK's waking videos of New York and you'll see why.
Thanks for sharing... Wow everything is something beautiful
Great video! My first "real" job was with Prudential Insurance of America's Canadian head office at King and Yonge. The base of the building that housed "Pru" now has a Starbucks (at about 18:55), and, as far as I know, my former company itself is long gone from Canada. Enjoyed your commentary-free video and hearing the various snippets of conversation from passersby.
This video kinda gave me a blackened Shadow vibeđ.
It was really great seeing Toronto through your excitement in video form. Thankfully you took us with you on your visit.
Really appreciate it
Enjoyable premier , nice to see Toronto rush hour , even though the sidewalks are wide those seems so narrow when all those people are on the move at the same time đGreat video overall , thank you A K đđ!!
Thank you so much, it was fun to be among the hustle and bustle of Toronto Rush Hour
about half the people walking are doing so underground in the PATH system so without the PATH the side walks would be overwhelmed
This was a fascinating walk, AK! I've never been to Canada. Funny to see several ppl wearing shorts or t-shirts in those temps. đ„¶ Those must be the truly hard-core Kanucks! đ What a lovely, clean city.
Canada isn't always that cold (we _do_ have hot summers), and we also have days that are cloudy but warm, like this one the video was shot on.
You do realize we have 4 seasons right? The time he recorded this video was in October. It was Fall season here. Thatâs why everyone is dressed differently because itâs cool weather
Where do you live...exactly?
Love your Toronto videos and streams man đđ„ keep it up
Thank you so much!
I went to Toronto for vacation almost 5 years ago and it's a nice city, a lot of things to do and huge in size. Can't wait to visit again.
I love how toronto has Its very own vibe. It has a different feel than every other city. Sort of like how new york has Its very own distinct vibe no one ever talks about the toronto feel. My favorite city ever
Awesome video of Downtown Toronto rush Hour walk in the financial district! Downtown Toronto is so Nice
Thank you so much!
Once you came out of union Station, you should have turned right, walk to the next traffic light then walk up (north) on young street. That is where the hustle and bustle of morning rush is at.
Thanks for the video though, now I know where I can get the bus that goes to bishop airport.
I was wondering why ppl were looking at you when you pass them. Later I knew why because your phone was on gimble and I know that because of your reflection on one glass door đ
Great video as usual.
Basic good manners go an awfully long way.
Downtown city in CANADA LOOK VERY BEAUTIFUL PLACE
NICE COUNTRY
Lol đ I thought it was New York! Then I saw the street sign younge!! đ« you have been so many places I canât keep up! I will watch again!
Awesome!
Lovely walk thanks for sharing ActionKid đŠđșđ¶đ
You're welcome, thanks for watching!
Hello, good video ; record after watch I can feel be in Toronto.
From an American perspective and where I'm from, downtown Toronto cityscape reminds me of a mix of Baltimore and D.C. Especially downtown Baltimore and D.C. it's literally like a mix a the two in the way downtown Toronto looks and feels.
Except the size. Toronto is much bigger than both. Currently, its larger than Chicago as well.
I live in Calgary! Calgary is very cold now, but Toronto looks nice! đ
16 months later and a lot busier downtown now after more people had to give up WFH. I was back in the office (King & Yonge) starting July 2022 and around March 2023 the noticed subway starting getting more and more crowded. And a lot more foot traffic on the sidewalks. Curiously Fridays are quieter, a lot less people getting off the subway at King Stn, I guess a lot of people still do WFH on Fridays.
Amazing đ
very good video đđ
Bellissima cittĂ đđ
From a Torontonian, thank you.

Interesting how the busiest moments in downtown Toronto is similar to the calmest moments of Downtown Dhaka!
Fantastic
Thanks!
It looks so calm in Toronto. Here in London uk itâs a nightmare. Maybe the same for New York too.
Hello Beautiful view
45 years ago Toronto all we carried was apurse and an honest shopping bag while honestly shopping downtown taking the once popular ttc then going home not on a go trainđ
It is a nice place for me to visit in the summer. every 5 years once
Premiere at 8am eastern... who's gonna get up that early on Saturday morning? Nice for people in Europe I suppose đ
Indeed, it's 2 PM in Poland đ
Canada is not Europe
Donât worry Weâre 14 hours ahead of Toronto here in QLD Australia đđ¶
I got up for it
@@ActionKid đWell said! And we thank you for doing it!
LIKE NEW YORK, BUT CLEANER đ đ đ đ
Toronto is the greatest city in the world.
ĐĄĐĐĐĄĐĐĐ
They are being honest of what is in their back packs as tge weather changes daily as do transients
First 1 min see two people at the exact same moment wearing backpacks on the front.
the back packs you saw on the front are baby carriers - very popular here so parent and child spend their time face to face instead of being clamped to the parent's back - also used at times by eccentric pet owners
This is typical for most Canadian cities. Clean, not to packed with people. It feels civilized. Can't say the same for the 401 highway that cuts through northern Toronto. Now that's insane super heavy traffic.
30:15 is my office.
Again something to clarify: When he uploads this video it doesn't necessarily mean he is in Toronto
Very true!
Imagine people in this video seeing themselves in 10-20 years. This is a time capsule.
Toronto is like NYC. Money moves people known as rush hour!

Very neat and well kept Downtown area. It's pretty chill for rush hour tho. I guess nowhere beats the sheer volume of pedestrians coming and going on the streets of Manhattan or specific areas of Tokyo
about half the people walking are doing so underground in the PATH system so without the PATH the side walks would be overwhelmed with people, that's one reason the PATH was build to increase pedestrian throughput.
The business district is picking up steam after the long lockdown (which was much more of a lockdown than in the US), and workers are returning to the office, but it's not up to pre-pandemic levels yet. I'm not even sure if Wall Street foot traffic is back to pre-pandemic levels. I love Manhattan, and have been visiting it since the late 70's, but sometimes we have to mentally "let go" of comparisons to Manhattan when we travel to other cities and just enjoy them for what they are. I think it would be a boring world if all cities were identical! :)
@@bobbbxxx I totally agree. Toronto is unique in its own way, and NYC isn't the greatest thing on Earth. There are quite a few megalopolises that surpasses it in population, size and architecture
@@paulowarhol9375 I love New York, but I don't think we should judge other cities by how similar or different they are to New York, London, or Paris. Cities can have a lot of individuality, and not necessarily need to be the same as each other!
@@bobbbxxx Yup. I, myself come from the biggest city in the Americas and in the entire South Hemisphere and yet it's not completely similar to any of the other cities I've been to across the globe
what is that intersection at 3:55?)
York St and Front Street.
It smells like money.

Their life....wot we cn say....
Hi action kid what's Up? Is there any African Canadians living in Toronto? I haven't seen any so far!
According to Statistics Canada, there were 442,020 Black Canadians in Toronto's metropolitan area in 2016. Probably closer to half a million today. It will be a split between people of Caribbean and African descent.
Yes, but we donât call them âAfrican Canadiansâ up here. Thatâs more of an American term. We just call them Black Canadians.
I'm sure "African Americans" would still apply since we are still in the Americas but who's counting, eh?
@@redman958 No, âAfrican Americanâ is a term specifically for Black people who came to the US because of the transatlantic slave trade.
@@GoWestYoungMan There are black Canadians in Toronto who trace their Canadian lineage to as far back as the 1600s (centuries ago!)!

How exspensive is to live there?
a million dollars (CAD) gets you a shoe-box (starter home). If you have a family you'll want something in the $1.5-2 mill range which a lot of people can't afford, so they end up spending ~$3,000 a month on rent... Basically it's Canada's 2nd most expensive city to live in (Vancouver being most expensive)
@@zenon3021 / oh wow ,,good to know đ
expensive enough so that thousands upon thousands commute daily from their (slightly) more affordable homes 1.5 -2 hours each way
Go train where is the bar car?Get with the service ala world class?
There is no end to seeing three things in all Canadian cities! Homelessness - litter on the roads and sidewalk, and worn out asphalt
Reminds me of NYC from what my folks tell me. Also from what a NYC friend of mine tells me. Seems to be a 21st century thing rather than a Canada thing
@@bryandouglas8894 Unfortunately, it is intense in Canada. Just watch random videos of cities in developed countries and Canadian cities and then compare fairly. Canada will be at the bottom of the list. Over the years, New York has changed into a clean city. I think it's a cultural problem in Canada.
I have visited many countries. Litter is everywhere in the world. Canada does a pretty good job in keeping it clean. You should see litter in Melbourne, London, New York, Edinburgh, Berlin, Paris, etc. This is Canada. You should have know that many Canadian cities go through multiple cycles of freeze and thaw in the winter (as in -35 degrees one day and 5 degrees the next). It does a lot of damage to the asphalt. They spend billions on roads and highways. Litter on highways? Sure, there is (somewhat) but it gets cleaned up. Have you seen litter on American and British highways? Have you seen litter in Paris? Have you see litter on Melbourne highways? Have you seen litter in Auckland? Homelessness is a issue in many developed countries not just Canada. From this video, you can clearly see how clean and well-kept it is. Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary, Montreal consistently rank in top 10 most liveable cities on the planet. Calgary was recently ranked one of the cleanest cities on the planet. I donât know what youâre on about.
Pro Tip: Just remember, everyone's naked under those clothes.

Cool, thanks for letting us know.
@@bryandouglas8894 You're welcome, Bryan.
In order to get the title of the largest city of CAnada , Toronto includes cities as far as 130 km away ( Niagara region ). These cities have nothing in commun with Toronto and it takes 2 hours to drib=ve downtown . Toronto has a poor public transport ,high crimes old, noisy , no wifi . The city has no soul ,not walkable , very USA and 50 % of the population is from China and India .
Why does everyone in Toronto look so miserable
It doesn't seem like everyone is miserable to me, they're probably just tired after a long day at work
I watched your videos, Topcat, and it looks so miserable where you live... why is that? đ€«
Most of them are, didactic know-it-alls with very little character.
