    Purchased: August 2022 - still works GREAT! czcams.com/users/postUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn I live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install.This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment.I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!

    Hi, outstanding video!
    My windows have the handle flush against the edge of the window casement, there is not enough space for the velcro to sit on the casement where the handle is. Does this mean this solution will not work for my windows?
    Thanks

      @waterhot80 Před rokem

      Hey Imran, did you ever get an answer to this?
      On Amazon, someone stuck theirs either on the other side of the handle or onto the glass itself (so you'd need to unzip the seal when you need to get to the handle to open and close the window). Apparently it's strong enough to stick to the glass, but YMMV. I haven't actually tried applying it yet as I have the same problem as you, and only came across these potential solutions recently.
      LMK how you get on.

    what if the window handle is not in the middle of the window? do you match the middle to the middle of the actual frame? and my windows are wider then this, its more rectangler width (rather then tall - its almost square but wider then taller - lol ive had issues with some in past where the "closed" seal part overlaps each other but the zip doesnt reach the corner)

    I have the bottom of the window about 1 meter high (I live in an attic apartment) and so the pipe keeps pulling off the zipper or sometimes the pipe just slips out of it no matter what I do. My window is not rectangular or square because it follows the plane of the roof at the top of the window and the window is bigger than the average windows, so the net is just tricky for it. But what else can I do?

    • @vancouverbill
      @vancouverbill Před 11 měsíci

      Sounds like you something else to support the pipe like some long zip ties, some wiring, string or some strong tape then attach them either to the window frame. or drill in a hook into the frame of the building which would be around the window, then you could attach the zip tie/wiring/string/tape to that hook. Non trivial indeed but your window is in a difficult spot

    If you live in London, or you rent property in London or lease property to let in London England, you would be very wise to get a chain window lock, steel window Chain lock door, and windows lock type. You can use them for your doors or windows that open in this way for your mobile air-conditioner. Make sure you get a long enough chain. Obviously when you lock them you remove the key allowing the window to open but not wide enough for a burglar home intruder. You do not want to be making a sandwich or a cup of tea and walk back to your front room finding you have an home intruder. I rent property I would recommend them they are also good for elderly mums and dads who forget to shut windows.

And for more inri you can only see its ineffectiveness or its impossible installation once the velcros are put on.

      SilvermindOne I beg to differ if the hinges only open outward the it is harder for someone to kick in your doors or windows, plus you might find a lot of windows and doors have an extra lip to stop them opening inwards I think that is another reason why external doors open outwards apart from them taking up space and being a fire hazard in case you need to get out fast and there is crap on the inside getting in your way also a pain for furniture having to gain access to your window. This is why sash window are so great. Also a reason why they are called casement is because they sit within a case often being double glazed and having a air tight seal with a different has then oxygen for insulation. Saying that my front door opens inwards which is a bit of a pain

    • @Silvermind0
      @Silvermind0 Před 3 lety

      @@michaeljameslawrence2965 Car doors open outwards so you can get out more easily when you're in an accident and, of course, when it opens indoors, the space on the inside is becoming a problem. Same with front doors of a house. In an emergency, people tend to forget the doors open inwards, because of their instinct to get out. Hardly any criminal will kick in doors or windows, because it makes too much noise. Even if you're not home, criminals do not want to make noise. If there is furniture blocking the window on the inside, I would suggest moving the furniture :). I guess it also depends on the situation ;).
