- The pro cycling calendar is awash with hard races, but none truly compare to the Hell of the North. Grueling sections of bone-rattling pavé are only worsened by the fickle spring weather of northern Europe, pushing riders and their bodies to the limit. Arguably the most difficult one-day event of the year, Paris-Roubaix, or the Queen of the Classics, has only been open to women since 2021. But despite its short history, Paris-Roubaix Femmes has already delivered some timeless editions, and for two EF Education-TIBCO-SVB teammates, 2023 was no exception. In Queens of the Classic, we follow Zoe Bäckstedt on her journey to a race won by her father Magnus Bäckstedt in 2004, and document Alison Jackson’s coronation as Roubaix royalty. From furthering a family’s legacy on the world stage to writing a new chapter in women’s cycling, join us for a behind-the-scenes story from a classic like no other.
Don’t forget Alison and Zoe are joining us live, so please drop your questions in the comments below and we will answer as many as we can! - Sport
Your videos are the reason EF is my favorite team now. Between Lachlan Morton's enduro madness to Alison Jackson's dance moves you have quite the cast of characters. Keep going!
Same for me!!! I wanted to write word for word! :)
Very early in the season, but I think AJ's win at Paris-Roubaix was the ride of the year.
Don't think I've ever cheered a rider on as much to the line.
I'm in the same boat, though I'd go so far to say that was the best classics race I've witnessed since MVdP's 2019 Amstel Win. It embodied everything you dream the classic races are about.
At the time I thought , who the heck is this gal? what an anti climax to the race. Now I’m like what an awesome, down to earth human, could not be happier for her! Makes me think how far women’s cycling has come in recent years and still how far there is to go to bridge the equality gap. These ladies deserve all the accolades, you guys rock!
Tears in my eyes. :-) Big smile on my face. Laughed so hard at the end I just about peed in my pants, actually!
Fantastic, I've been a EF follower for years and honestly I was in tears when Action Jackson won 🏆
#WatchTheFemmes!
Epic. You are a Legend now Alison, kudos.
two of my most favourites riders, Alison & Zoe 😄
In tears when she won in real time, and all over again watching this! Great little peek behind the race!! 👍❤️ 🇨🇦
Amazing film, big Kudos to the creators. I had chills from beginning to end.
tears!
Hot take: Best EF Rapha film so far. Unbelievable
Discovering the EF social media by chance a few weeks before Paris-Roubaix and getting to know the riders was an insanely lucky thing for me. Made watching AJ win the race so much more rewarding.
I was in the Stadium when Magnus won! The classics are the best bike races in the world and to see the women have these opportunities is fantastic.
Absolutely beautiful. And to have a fellow Canadian win it!!!?? Yeah!
AWESOME. Love this race. Love this ladies.
I tear up a bit every time I watch that sprint! What a moment that was - the video brings me right back. Nice work!
What a energetic and fun spirit Alison has! Loved this video!
That race was one of the best I’ve ever watched! I’ve been a bigger fan of women’s racing than men’s for a while now.
Amazing to see a Canadian FINALLY win Roubaix and yet, sadly, this feat went largely unnoticed here in Canada.
Big fan of them! Congrats
The friendship between Zoe and Aj is brilliant 👏 go Aj absolute legend
A champion that people love 💗 well said Ali 🌟
Best film ever! 🤷♂️
Alison Jackson, The MOST heroic win I've ever seen at Roubaix. Holds off the pack, keeps them at bay at 9 seconds, rallying her breakaway companions, and then takes it. 9 seconds. 9 fucking seconds.
What a brilliant film of a brilliant team with brilliant riders! Thanks so much! 💕
Love it!!!!!!! Great show guys, awesome riding!!!
