New record on Frank Wilson £110,000 in September 2020 there are four white demos, one white label test pressing and one ISSUE (which turned up in a little mom and pop shop in Detroit). It's important to know that there are lots of copies of the later British reissues - indeed it actually kissed the bottom of the charts. A Comic Book Artist friend of mine, one of his first paid commissions back in the early 80s was a cover for a band called "Third Quadrant". They couldn't even afford proper covers so the album comes in a plastic outer sleeve with a single sheet insert with that artwork and another for the credits. I thought it would be even too obscure for Disocgs, it's not, it's not daft money but on the rise. The Kosmik Artifact edition of King Buffalo's EP from earlier this year is already fetching north of $100.

I had a total brain fart about a decade ago and it was whilst flipping through goodwill albums. I passed up a bunch of John Mayall in the interest of coming back to him.
At the counter I recalled that I had planned on getting them but being in pain I passed.
Then a couple days later I realised that I had confused Coltrane with Mayall and my heart sunk. I have never skipped over another album ever whilst flipping through goodwill albums or any other!
To think that I could have about a dozen Coltrane LPs in my collection is a nauseating feeling to even admit the blunder.

Turns out it was one of only 5 known test pressings to try out reaction to the coloured vinyl. He was shaking when he read up on it. This was a few weeks ago so is looking to sell if you or anyone is interested.

      Hi
These Hendrix Lp were pressed at Orlakes in Dagenham, and thrown away in a skip at the factory, employees would take them home mostly coloured vinyl's and slightly faulty un-cut picture discs. I know of at least 9 other copies, my ex girl friend's mother worked there for over 20 years.
My suggestion would be to auction it on eBay and let the person with the deepest pockets purchase it!
Don't put a reserve on it as it could put people off, (It makes you look greedy).
It should fetch £1,000 to £3,000. but it's definatly right not a boot leg due to the Burt Kaempfert on the reverse label.
      All the best Brendan

Pink Floyd The Wall is in it's very first print. The first case sent out goes to Long Beach California. To a Tower records. Second case goes to London. Before a third case is shipped, they realize they messed up the inside cover. It did not have Pink Floyd and then the band members names. The called the two stores that got the misprints and told them not to open the case and send it back. And they do--sort of.
Did any of the others make it out into the wild?

    Leadbelly

    13th Floor Elavators
    John Lee Hooker
    The Leaves
    Index
    Iggy Pop /The Stooges
    Just to name a few

It is believed that the most valuable classical record ever sold was the 10-LP Mozart in Paris that sold for $27,000. Of course, the classical market has come way down in the past 20 years, so now you would be hard-pressed to get $5000 for the set.
If you only look at recent sales, someone sold the three Martzy mono Bach Violin sonata records on UK Columbia for $9999 on eBay, which is only down slightly from the peak price of 20 years ago.
A record I actually own, the first pressing of the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto/Bruch Scottish Fantasy on Decca SXL 2026 sold recently for $1599. Made in England at six o'clock, half-moon flipback cover.
These are all stock production records that were sold in stores between 1950 and 1965.

I hate to burst the bubble re: the Wu-Tang album contract's "Heist" clause, but sadly, it wouldn't hold water in court. It would be like writing a contract that said, "Party 1 agrees to be murdered by party 2. Said murder can only be committed by Party 1, as agreed upon by both parties, with no legal repercussions." So just bc u wrote in ur contract doesn't make it legal. If we could do that, we could still have things like duels to the death, etc, provided both parties agreed prior. But we don't have that. Bc these are all crimes, and hence, contractually void/unenforceable. As much as it pains me to acknowledge that Bill Murray can't do a heist to recapture this baby, I have to be real ab this.

actually there are 4 known pressings. They differ by the cover and the rights society on the label. the two covers are the artistic version and another one that is white with just the name. the two rights societies are ML and SUISA, what we do know is SUISA didn't exist until the 80s. why there are two cover designs who knows. So if you have ML on the label its the 70s press. the general argument is the artistic cover plus ML is the first press. also I don't know where 560 comes from, its quoted online, but what is the actual source? Seems to be a lot of copies about for something only 560 pressed. you can check discogs prices on it, its a tough album to sell in my experience.

I read an article that said almost any original butcher cover has "some" value to it. If you can clearly see that it's a real one, someone who wants a starter copy would buy it. I saw a younger kid just getting into collecting records bought a horrible condition copy for $200 and was over-joyed just to have one.
